Joy 2 Ways

Welcome!  Hope your day is filled with Joy!  I have made 2 versions of this card....the top one being very Clean and Simple.  I added more layers and some bling to the second one.  I used a digital image from Gina K Designs which is free at Stamp TV if you are a member.  I colored the image with Red, Greens, and Gold Copics.  I used a red pen to colored the smaller details on the ornament.  To give some shine I heat embossed the ribbon and red scrolls with Clear EP using a Versamark pen.  Also added some shine with Wink of Stella.  I used red mats cut with Spellbinder die on both cards.  I used GKD Green Card base and Gold gems on the second.

The Glory of Christmas:  #74 Anything Goes

Hope is Faith

This card was made for the CAS Challenge at CASology using the cue Hope.  I debated whether it is too much for  CAS but I am going to go with it anyway.....as I thought of this stamp and sentiment when I first read the challenge....just may have gone with too much patter paper but maybe I still have enough solid space.

Challenge:
CASology: Hope is the cue
Flutter By Wednesday: Use blue, green, and yellow with Butterfly.

Supplies:
Stamps: GKD Hope is Faith
Ink: Memento Nautical Blue
Copics: Yellows
Paper: Yellow CS from Stash, Pattern Papers My Mind's Eye ( Green is in pattern, Ink is Blue, Yellow in papers and image)

Deer Visits a Snowy Cottage

I am back with another snowy cottage for the challenge at Craft a Scene  This time I have used 6 stamps from GKD "Life is Good" Set by Theresa Momber. I used the triple time stamping technique and a sketch from Speedy Fox Challenge.  The stamping was done with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored with Copics with a bit of sponging with Brilliance Moonlight White and Memento Summer Sky. I extended the walk to the bottom edge of the card  Added a bit of stickles to highlight the snow. This time I remember to start a roaring fire in the fireplace of the cottage resulting in smoke from the chimney. I like the way this turned out using the triple time stamping. After adhering the dark brown card base and brown cardstock mats with the image layers, I stamped the deer again, cut it out, and glued it to the top to make it stand out more.  I finished with a sentiment in brown ink.

Challenges:
Craft a Scene: Theme is a scene with a snowy cottage. 2nd Entry
MFP Sketch With a Twist Challenge #30: Use sketch shown below and with a twist of using layers.
All Sorts: Create masculine card.

Do you wonder what is the definition of a cottage?  I wanted to be sure this image fit the challenge so I check the definition. A cottage is a small simple, single-storied house, especially in the country, typically one near a lake or beach. I think this image is just right.

I enjoy all your comments. Thank you. Theresa

Quilted Happy Birthday

We had more snow yesterday. I plan to stay in today and make cards.  This card was started sometime ago and recently  finished but never posted. I used 1/4" strips of DP that I taped on a card stock and then cut into 1/4" strips and then made into a quilt. I was inspired to make this sometime ago from a card by my friend  Lin at Sending Hugs but do not have the post to link too. She makes so many beautiful cards.  I layered the "quilt" on to a border of striped DP strips using mitered corners to better replicate a finished quilt. I attached this to a card base of green.  Finished with a sentiment and triple organdy bow for my Mother's recent birthday.

Challenges:
Kaboddle Doodles Challenge: Use Ribbon
Papertake Weekly: Tie up your loose ends-add a bow.

Supplies:
Papers: Authentique Wonder Paper Pad, Green and Ivory CS from Stash
Stamps: GKD
Ink: Memento Rhubarb Stalk
Ribbon from Dollar Tree

I could never be a quilter...I had a hard enough time laying out patterns in this small rectangle. Next time I will use wider strips than I used here. I enjoy all your comments. Thank you. Theresa

Study of Colors

I love this time of year....the color of leaves is ever changing. Every morning the sun shines through the trees and they are a blaze of colors.  The canvas is aglow with a new explosion of colors each day as I look through the windows.  I love making fall cards and showing the colors of Autumn. In this card I tried to capture the transition of colors in a leaf.  It was just a fun thing to do as I played with masking and coloring with Distress inks creating a CAS card.

Cabin in the Snowy Woods

At Craft a Scene Challenge, the theme this month is Trees, Trees, Trees.  They want us to use at least three trees stamped on our entries.  The entry should have a stamped or digi image in the background and another in the foreground.  For my cabin in the woods card, I used the cabin with trees image and trees in the background with some birds flying by. I added deer in the foreground and extended the walk and placed some snow mounds by drawing those in. In all I used 5 stamps to create the scene.

Butterflies and Bees, Oh My!

This card is a bit humorous....combined bees and butterflies. I do not think I have ever seen a swarm of bees flying with butterflies but it just turned out that way. I was making a background by stamping rows of butterflies and decided it needed a bit of pop, so I stamped the black bees. The large butterfly was stamped, colored, cutout and attached with pop dots.
