Gone Fishin'

Hello and welcome!  There are a lot of challenges for Father's Day and Masculine themes this week.  I created this CAS card to cover a few of them.  I am using a stamp of this great fisherman that I recently received in blog candy from Shirley.   I used it with a never used Mark's Finest Paper sentiment. I added some diamond embossing and ribbon for texture.  This can be used for Father's Day with an appropriate verse inside.

You've Got Style

 

Hello!  Today's card is a bit vintage and a different type of fold for me. I created this pop out style for Joan's Touch Challenge #14 and tried to case her cards posted here.  I just cut and folded and taped until I got the look that I wanted....it was a bit of engineering in card making.
Joan required that we:
Use a die as an outline but not required
Use Black on the card
Add embellishments
Use a product sold at Joan's Garden.

Girl Stuff and a Little Bling

Second Post today:  Some of the challenge deadlines are near closing so I had to do another post.

I  do not make too many "Girlie" Cards but I just had to used stamps from Mark's Finest Paper You've Got Style  to create a card for a challenge to use heels, hats, and handbags and used the sketch challenge from The Kraft Journal. I threw in some punches and dies to meet some other challenges.   I stamped the handbag on white cardstock using Memento Espresso Truffle ink and then paper pieced with Kraft paper and colored with pencils and a gold metallic pen. The shoes were stamped with the same ink on Red paper and fussy cut. The sentiment was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with Zing EP Chestnut and cut with a spellbinders word window die. The flowers were punched with SU flower punches from paper in Fancy Pants Design Trend Setter paper pad. Cut a circle with Nesties die and stamped Wow with Memento Rhubarb Stalk ink. I assembled all the elements and just had to add red rhinestones ....what girlie card does not have Bling?  This was a fun card to create.

Thank You to Mom

Morning!  My card today is made with Mark's Finest  Papers stamp Welcome Poppies.  I stamped the image and sentiment on a pattern paper with Memento Espresso Truffle ink.  After coloring the image with Copics, I edged it with an orange marker and attached to a mat of Kraft Paper and to a card base of Orange Cardstock. I used a wide organza ribbon edged with gold wire and orange dew drops for embellishments.  All products used were from my stash.

Warm Winter Wishes

 Hello! Are you keeping warm?  We had more snow here in Ohio last night but we are having a warming trend today....up to 36 degrees.  The cold weather inspired this card that is for some snow and ice challenges.  I stamped Flourishes' Snowman with a Bird (made it a bluebird) with black ink.
Colored the image in Copics and hung a sign on his stick arm sending Warm Wishes. Added some cold icicles and snowflakes for more coldness!

New Year Fun

Back today with more wishes for a Happy New Year.  We spent a quiet night at home on New Year's Eve with a great dinner and champagne.  On New Year's I prepared a brunch of Eggs Benedict topped with a bit of leftover caviar and Al served  Mimosas.   We had our traditional dinner of roast pork, black eyed peas, sauerkraut, and corn bread.  It's partly a southern thing.

My card is made with stamps from Mark's Finest Papers "Big City" and "Peaceful Nuthatch" using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The fireworks are embossed with  Darice EF and inked with gold ink and clearstar pen. Attached to a black cardstock base.

Happy New Year

 I am a bit late wishing everyone a Happy New Year but I wanted to post this card with my wishes for everyone to have a Happy and Healthy New Year in 2014.
 
I made this card using a new Darice Embossing Folder called Fireworks. After embossing a Black Card stock, I inked the raised area with a gold ink and added some gold EP.  I stamped the sentiment from Mark's Finest Papers (Peaceful Nuthatch set) withVersamark and heat embossed with Gold EP.  This was a very  easy card that I made in a matter of minutes...less than 10 minutes.  I also made the same card using a dark navy cardstock but like it best in the black which is much more dramatic.

Playing with Hopscotch Paper

Today I have another Back to School themed card that I have made with some old BasicGrey pattern paper from the Hopscotch paper pad.  I have been trying to use up some of my old stash and scraps.  I  pulled colors from the number pattern paper to use in my image and card base.  I stamped the blackboard (guess they are green today) with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and wrote on the board using stamps with versamark and embossed with white embossing powder. The stack of books was also stamped in the black ink and colored with Copics  B45, E25,G40,G82, R22.  Other paper used was White Cardstock from stash and SU Coral cardstock. Ribbons from stash are coral and yellow grosgrain.  Stamps used from Mark's Finest Papers Lesson Learned.  Used Sweet Sunday sketch but missed the deadline for their challenge.

Back to School

This week there have many back to school challenges which I am not usually interested in but decided to one since I do have a perfect stamp set "Lesson Learned" from Mark's Finest Papers for this theme. Starting with a bright yellow card base, I added a mat of Red Cardstock embossed with Chevron EF by Darice. On White card stcok I stamped the desk, the blackboard and repeated sentiment with Memento Inks..  I colored with Memento Markers.  The large apple is one that I made with shrinky dink.  I added the "ruler" which I made by printing a tape measure on a copier machine and found some leftover in my stash.

My Card Has Style

My style is very clean and simple for this card made with a silhouette die cut out from Crimson Cloud "Elegant Ladies" which I paired with some narrow black satin ribbon and a very appropriate  sentiment from Mark's Finest Paper stamped in Memento Tuxedo Ink on white Cardstock.  I think this card may take the honor of being the quickest card that I have ever made....which shows that a good card does not have to take hours to create. I won this die from a challenge and have just been waiting for the right card to use.

Happy Day Bookmark

Hello... I am back for a second post and a second bookmark for Speedy Fox and Friends challenge....Make a Bookmark. I usually only do one entry for a challenge but I had so much fun that I made another bookmark.  Usually when I take time to read a book, it is a happy day so I used sentiments and butterflies that make me smile on this marker.  I stamped using Memento Espresso Truffle ink on a Parchment Card Stock,  rounded the corners with EK Success punch, and backed with some fun CS from stash. Attached a loop of cream Grosgrain ribbon before adhering together. Used stamps from MFP's Cracked Hello, Daffodil Greetings, and one more that I forgot the name. Other inks used Memento Lady Bug and Tangelo.

Bookmark for the Kitchen

Welcome! Cloudy day here in Ohio. Today I am posting some bookmarks that I made for Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge : Make a Bookmark.  I would like to win the Butterfly Stamp Set that is the prize this week.  I decided that I'd make a bookmark to use in my cook books.  I used stamps from Mark's Finest Papers set Recipe Card Starters that I stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Antique Parchment Finish card stock and colored with Memento Lady Bug Marker, Copic E21, Distress Marker Picket Fence, and Jelli-Ink pen Mettallic Silver.  I rounded the bottom corners with EK Success punch.  I attached this to a red and white checked card stock (pattern on both sides).  I usually punch a hole at the top and use narrow satin ribbon to my book marks but decided to add a loop of grosgrain ribbon to the top for the finish.

Color + Sketch = Card

After an early walk on the beach, I decided to make a quick card for Mark's Finest Papers challenge to use pink, brown, and white in a card and also to use a sketch from One Stop Craft Challenge.  Since I wanted to use a dark brown  cardstock mat and did not have one, I darkened a tan CS by wiping with Memento Rich Cocoa. I used the same ink to stamp "Happy Pansies" from Mark's Finest Papers on white CS. I colored with Copics. Used white card base matted with the brown.  Assembled the card with squares of embossed white CS and MME's pink polka dots. Matted the image with pink CS and finished with Birthday Sentiment.

Snowy Cottage

Welcome. We have snow and cold here in Ohio. Guess this weather set the mood to create a snowy cottage scene. I have had the monthly challenge at Craft a Scene in mind which is to do just that -create a snowy cabin scene - and the month will soon be over.  I am not sure I like the results but it is certainly snowy card and includes a cottage/cabin.  I may have over done the snow a bit using stickles. I have used this stamp before and it's fun to do with a different look each time. I stamped the cabin with mountains and lake and added some more trees, the fence, and birds which added more depth to the scene. I colored with a lot of Copics, sponged the sky to give a snowy and gray look, and then let the snow fall everywhere. Even the lake looks cold! Finished with a bit of green twine. The card base was embossed with snowflakes and sponged with Brilliance Moonlight White. I did not use a sentiment as I will stamp that when I use the card.

Welcome. Stop awhile and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea. Coffee is my choice of drinks.
I was playing with a MFP's Stamp "Oh, Beans" and created 2 very different but similar CAS cards. The first is one layer  stamped on kraft cs and colored with pencils and oms. It seems a little flat.
The second card was stamped on white cs, colored with Copics, and attached to a brown card base.

Celebrate the New Year

2012 is on the way out and 2013 is on the way in.  I always enjoy seeing the fireworks  that welcome in the New Year around the world and I made this card  to show a celebration of  the New Year arriving.
I created the fireworks on the night sky by hand drawing with Glitter pen and stickles.

Friends of Speedy TV Challenge

Father's Day is the challenge at FOSTV this week. I think a Father's Day Card should tell that person how special he is.  My father passed away several years ago but I always have special memories of him at Father's Day and he was a Fabulous Dad.  My card features the Special Lion stamp set from MFP.  I stamped the lion with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on a Tan Card stock from MFP twice and colored the details of the image image with pencils, glaze pen and distress marker. I cut out one of the images and cut only the center of the face of the second  image that I attached to the full image with pop up dots to create a 3D effect. I hope you can see this 3D in the photo.  I stamped a sentiment from the same set on to a pattern paper with Versamark and heat embossed with Copper EP. I cut the letters D-A-D with a Cricut and also heat embossed them with Copper EP and attached them with the Lion to the mat of Pattern Paper. I added the twine with a Lion charm to the mat and attached all to a base card of the Tan CS to finish the project.  I like the effect of the Picket Fence White Distress Marker on the face....it is hard to see until the ink dries but it shows really white on the colored CS.

Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge

The Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge this week is to make a card and Heat Emboss the main image.  I decided to use the triple daisy image from MFP's "Oopsy Daisy" stamp set and stamped with Versamark directly on to a pattern paper and heat embossed with a Pearl Embossing Powder. I should have used a darker EP because it is hard to see the embossing in the photo but it looks really good in real life...trust me! I colored the image with Copics and attached to a lustrous CS mat and then to a brown card base. Keeping with the embossing, I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set with Versamark and embossed with Chestnut EP. I also stamped the butterfly image with Versamark from the new MFP "Scenic Selections" stamp set and embossed with Black EP, colored with markers and cut out and attached with pop  up dots. Also added brown organza ribbon to finish.

Friends of Speedy TV Challenge

This is my card for FOSTV (Friends of Speedy TV) Week 19 Challenge - Make a Mother's Day Card. I thought this sentiment was perfect for my mother on a Mother's Day Card.  She is a young 92 and we work hard to keep up with her energy.  I have used an image from Springtime Flowers that I stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa on ivory cardstock...I like the softness that brown on ivory gives rather than using black ink on white cardstock. I colored the image with Copics and framed it with a die cut  ( I cut out the center of the cut die to make the frame).  I picked up the yellow from the center of flowers to use as my card base.  I finished with teardrop pearls in the corners.
