Birthday Roses

Welcome!  I have been playing with a stencil, a die, stamps,  Ombre colors, and water coloring to create this birthday card.  I made the Ombre background by inking DOI Lucky Clover and Cracked Pistachio with Gina K Stencil Rounded Swirl on white CS.  I stamped the Rose stamp from GKD Tropical Blooms with GKD Amalgam Black ink and water colored the image with a water brush using the same green inks and Picked Raspberry DOI. Used GKD die to cut the rose and attached using foam to pop up the image.  Stamped the GKD sentiment with the pink ink. Finished with a green card base.

Birthday Wishes

Hello! I used a sketch from Stamp TV Mix It Up Monday challenge for this card that I made using  GKD stamps from A Year of Flowers and Tag Lines(sentiment), Patterned Papers from MME Market St pad, White CS, Memento Morocco Ink, Oxide Iced Spruce Ink, and Copics for coloring the Flower.  Finished with some Twine from my stash.  Fussy cut the flower and leaves. Embossed the Ombre Green Panel with Gingham EF.

Play Along With Tag You're....It!

As Guest Designer on  Tag You're It, I made a tag for the reminder for challenge #60 inspired by Featured Designer Diane Jaquay shown below.

Similar to Diane's Tag, I created an ombre background tag using Distress Inks but used a Christmas theme instead of a Thankful theme.  Before sponging the  background, I  stamped and embossed a Gina K Design Mistletoe  stamp with Versamark ink and white EP.  I added a sentiment from Annabelle  that I also embossed and sponged before trimming. I attached a Flourish die cut from Glossy White CS with a Cheery Lyn die beneath the sentiment.  The tag was layered with White Glossy CS and finished with a dark Blue ribbon.

Happy Birthday in Ombre

Hello! I am back with a third post today.....trying to catch up with some of the past week challenges.  I made this card by creating an Ombre background using Distress inks Spun Sugar and Picked Raspberry that I sponged on a panel of water color paper.  I simply die cut the Memory Box English Rose Stem from Green CS and adhered to the Ombre Pattern.  I chose not to fill the open Roses so that the Ombre Color showed through the design.  I stamped the Gina K Designs sentiment with SU Always Artichoke ink and heat embossed with Clear EP.  The card base is the same Green CS used for the flowers.

Flowers for a Birthday

Hello!  January brings a need for birthday cards so I am playing with some new items to create.  I  recently won a prize from One Happy Cut and selected some Memory Box dies including this one called Splendid Clarkia. I cut the flower from Green, Red, and a bit of Yellow CS and assembled it on a layer of Ombre Pattern Paper.  I edged this layer with a green marker and attached to a Red layer and then to an Ivory card base.  I added words cut with Cheery Lynn dies.  The touch of Wink of Stella on the flowers does not show in the photo but adds a bit of glitter to the card.

Challenges:

Die Cut Divas:  Challenge is new technique/die/stamp/colors, something you're using or trying for the first time.  Using new die for the first time.

Some More Challenges

 Hello!  I think warm temps are back and that means time outside today but I want to post this card first.  I was inspired by a few challenges to create this Ombre card in green.  I began with a Pattern Paper from MME Market Street pad that has an ombre design.  I embossed it with Cuttlebug EF Acanthus by Anna Griffin just because I love this embossed design.  I made a 3D flower with Spellbinder Blossom design and added some shine with Clearstar pen and Wink of Stella plus a clear sequin in the center. This and the leaf were cut from the same ombre pattern.  I finished with Happy Birthday words cut with Cheery Lynn Dies and some more sequins which are really silver but appear pink in the photo.

Ombre Butterflies

Hello!  My card has a  group of butterflies cut from Ombre Pattern Paper from MMF with a Memory Box die.  Did you know that a group of butterflies is  also called a "swarm," "rabble," "kaleidoscope," or "flutter of butterflies?  I like the sound of flutter and used the Sentiment from Paper and Such which says "Fluttering by to say Hi.....". Card Base is Ivory CS and layer of Stripe is form MME Market Street pad. Used SU Creamy Caramel ink.

Bouquet of Tulips

Hello!  My card today is made with Repeat Impressions Stamp A Vase of Tulips, a printed ribbon, some ombre pattern paper in greens, and lustrous Oyster Peal CS.  The coloring of the image is with Copics.  I made the size a bit larger to fully show the lovely image on a Scallop Oval frame and spaced the ribbon.

Love those Distress Inks

 

Once you start playing with Distress Inks, it is hard to stop.  You never know what you may end up with and no two creations are the same.  Day 2 at Winnie & Walter's Share the Love Week featuring Tim Holtz Distress Inks includes the trend of using  Ombre  .  They are featuring use of these inks all week and are having some challenges for us to join in the fun.  Day 2 Challenge is to create a new Ombre project using Distress Inks + at least one (1) w&w product .  I made this card to enter for Day 2  Share The Love with Distress Inks. I chose DI Spun Sugar and Picked Raspberry to make a background panel with white cardstock by sponging 3 sections with the chosen inks. I cut one wider and one narrow section of this paper lining up the sections on a White card base flipping the narrow section on the left side just to different.  To finish I cut "love" 3 times in different sizes from Glossy White CS with the cut file from Winnie & Walter using my Cameo.  I attached the words and added some hearts punched with an EK punch from leftovers of  the Ombre Paper that I made and scraps from glossy White CS.  I arranged the hearts with glue dots falling down the card reversing the color direction of the Ombre colors.

On the Beach

Second Post Today:

This is the last of my Items from around the House series.  I was surprised how many items there are to use from just the kitchen...I coud have done more....what about coffee filters, cooking twine, foil, wax paper, endless possibilities.  I created this CAS card using a cupcake liner and toothpicks creating an umbrella for a simple beach scene. Tore a strip of tan Card stock and place on Ombre Blue Card stock that I printed  to create the background. Stamped the chair from Flourishes Beach Life with versamark ink on white and embossed with white EP and cut out. I attached the chair over the same image that I stamped on the card with Memento Toffee Crunch ink and stamped the sentiment with the  same. This was attached to the card base of glossy White CS and I attached the umbrella made of a cupcake liner and 2 toothpicks.  I decided to leave the umbrella the neutral color as this is what I had but there are many colorful liners to be had.

More Teabags

Hello!  I made this card for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday #215- Around the House- use items found around the house on your creation.   This card was made with a Flourishes stamp set Humming Along using Lipton teabags. I stamped the Hummingbird and sentiment with Memento Espresso Truffle ink on a card stock that I printed with ombre coloring in blues. Check out Sweetly Scrapped post for more ombre colors.  I then stamped the branch with Memento Bamboo Leaves ink.  I made flowers with empty teabags...experimented until I had the shapes that I wanted. Attached the flowers with glue dots and adhered all to a card base of Marco's Lustrous Card stock in Oyster Pearl.  Stay tuned for another card with ombre colors and items from around the house.

T for Technique Challenge and Tea

 

The challenge 184 at Just Us Girls  this week is to use an ombre technique which is using graduating colors. The definition of ombre is the French word for color that is shaded or graduated in tone.  I remember having some beautiful clothing items in ombre many years ago...in the early 70's ...that I loved.  I found a blog Sweetly Scrapped that has a great post about the Ombre Trend and also has free downloads that I used to make some Ombre card stock in various colors.

 I made the above card with some of that card stock that I printed on white card stock to the size I needed for a mat. I stamped a GKD sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black  and embossed the mat with CB embossing folder Divine Swirls.  Since I was experimenting  with using items around the house for embellishments, I added a teabag to complete my get well card. Even the tag blends with the ombre colors.  Completed the card with a coral base and a white mat.  This is a more simple card than I usually make but wanted the graduated colors to stand out.
