Happy New Year 2015

Happy New Year

Wishing everyone a New Year filled with
Health, Happiness and Prosperity!

I begin the year 2015 posting this card made with a lot of shine using DCWV gold foil cardstock that I embossed with Darice EF Fireworks.  I love the festive look of fireworks.  I added some wine glasses that I gold embossed on Vellum and fussy cut. I used Repeat Impressions stamps from their Wine Series. I used a Clear star Pen to color in the wine and make some bubbles but it's hard to see in this photo. I also gold embossed the sentiment from Mark's Finest Papers on Vellum and framed it in a Gold Foil Circle.   I used a card base of Black CS.

Of course I had to entered this in some challenges:
The House That Stamps Built: Designer Choice Challenge 1231-Ring in the New Year
Simon Wednesday Challenge: Simon says Anything Goes

Thanks to all who have visited my blog this past year.
I look forward to your visits and comments in 2015.
 Thank you. Theresa

New Year Fun

Back today with more wishes for a Happy New Year.  We spent a quiet night at home on New Year's Eve with a great dinner and champagne.  On New Year's I prepared a brunch of Eggs Benedict topped with a bit of leftover caviar and Al served  Mimosas.   We had our traditional dinner of roast pork, black eyed peas, sauerkraut, and corn bread.  It's partly a southern thing.

My card is made with stamps from Mark's Finest Papers "Big City" and "Peaceful Nuthatch" using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The fireworks are embossed with  Darice EF and inked with gold ink and clearstar pen. Attached to a black cardstock base.

Challenges:
Speedy Fox and Friends: Theme is Happy New Year
Simon Says: Something New...using new embossing folder
Craft Your Passion: Something New...using new embossing folder

Enjoy your day! Looks like more snow coming...great crafting weather.
I love reading all your comments. Thank you. Theresa

Happy New Year

I am a bit late wishing everyone a Happy New Year but I wanted to post this card with my wishes for everyone to have a Happy and Healthy New Year in 2014.

I made this card using a new Darice Embossing Folder called Fireworks. After embossing a Black Card stock, I inked the raised area with a gold ink and added some gold EP.  I stamped the sentiment from Mark's Finest Papers (Peaceful Nuthatch set) withVersamark and heat embossed with Gold EP.  This was a very  easy card that I made in a matter of minutes...less than 10 minutes.  I also made the same card using a dark navy cardstock but like it best in the black which is much more dramatic.
Challenges to enter:
Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge: Theme is Happy New Year
Simon Says: Something New...using new embosssing folder.
CAS-ual Friday: Happy New Year Theme

I enjoy all your comments. Thank you. Theresa

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge 147

I am so excited...I am the guest designer for Timeless Tuesday for December 2011. When I was asked by  Tammy Hershberger, the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge Coordinator, to be their Guest Designer, I was speechless and all I could say was WOW!  I am so honored and excited to be a part of this prestigious and talented group of designers and of course, Flourishes is one of my favorite stamp makers. So, here I am as a guest designer for this month.

Silke is the hostess for FTTC147 and she has a sketch challenge shown below.  Everyone can PLAY and anyone can WIN! Each week Flourishes draws one lucky name for a $10 gift code to the Flourishes store! Check out all the details at the Flourishes Blog.

For my card I decided to make a New Year's Card since I have finished my Christmas cards and I wanted to use a stamp set that I recently acquired, "Moments in Time" and thought it would be perfect for my card with a gold, black and white color combo.  I stamped the clock face on Flourishes White Classic Card Stock using a Memento Tuxedo Black Marker. I used a marker instead of an ink pad in order to stamp only part of the clock...I eliminated the hands so I could make the clock strike "Midnight".   I stamped the separate clock hands from the stamp set using versamark and gold embossing powder on a metallic gold card stock and cut them out. I used a gold brad to attach to the face.  I finished the card using a metallic gold card base, a white embossed mat, a strip of black card stock embossed and sponged with gold ink, some layered ribbons, and a sentiment from "Paperwhites".

Check out what the Timeless Tuesday Team has created for this challenge.

Stamps: Flourishes " Moments in Time" and "Paperwhites"
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad and Marker; Gold Ink pad: Versamark
Papers: Flourishes Classic White Card Stock, Unknown Gold Metallic Card Stock, Scrap of Black Card stock
Dies: Spellbinders Classic Circle and Lacey Circle
Embossing Folders: Cuttlebug Divine Swirls, Polka Dots
Sakura Clear Star Pen ( does not show in photo)
Gold Metal Brad from Stash
Ribbons from Stash: White Organza with Gold  Stripes layered over Solid Gold Metallic

I cannot believe that I did not use a single Copics!
Thanks for dropping by.  I enjoy all your comments. Thank you.

Happy New Year to All!

Happy New Year!

It is New Year's Eve and time to celebrate!  Wishing everyone a year of love, health, happiness, and prosperity along with tons of creativity to keep the mojo juices flowing.  Speaking of flowing, time to open the bubbly and pour a glass to toast in the year. Here's to 2011...may it be good to all of us.

I made my champagne bottle card with a template offered from Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog. Check it out here. I printed the template and cut it out in this shimmery green luminescent  CS (can see on open card) that I being saving for the right project.  I printed the label from a free digi by Tiffany Doodles and cut with Spellbinders Label 4 and edged with a Pilot gold marker.  I covered the top and neck of bottle with a scrap of gold wrapping paper left from Christmas package. Tied ribbon around the neck and added a bit of bling.  Finished off the inside of bottle with sentiment from GKD "Lovely Labels 1" by Nina and cut with same label die.

New Year Challenges:
Simon Says Stamp:  Time to party/Celebrate
Your Next Stamp: Let's Party
For Fun Challenges: Theme is New year
The Pixie Cottage: Optional challenge is Party/Celebration  Theme
Little Red Wagon: Theme is to use leftovers...used a scrap of wrapping paper
Have a safe and Happy New Year's Eve.

Happy New Year...Almost Time

Almost time to ring in the New Year...2010 has been a good year except for that fall in January when I broke my wrist...bad way to start off, but... the year ended better than it started. It has been a good year carding and blogging...a lot of new friends and old friends have added so much  enjoyment to this past time.
I have learned a lot and keep trying new things such as the technique in this card. Made the "streamers" using the rubber band technique that I saw on Stamp TV  in one of Gina's great videos. Technique is to  use rubber bands on a brayer but I have no brayer so I improvised with a glass water bottle. I only rolled up and down instead in all directions because I wanted the effect of streamers falling down.  Added some party hats for fun stamped with GKD "Candles on Your Cake" by Melanie. Text stamped with Fiskars Basic Font Stamps. Inks are SU and Momento Markers and Papers from stash. Used Atyou Spica Gold and Sakura glitter pen on letters but does not show in photo.
Challenges:
Stamp TV: Countdown Challenge to use rubber band background
Scrap-Creations: Ring in the New Year
Simon Says Stamp Challenge:  Time to Party/Celebrate
For Fun Challenges: Theme is New Year.

What are your plans for New Year's Eve? I plan to spend a quiet night ringing in the New Year with my DH.
Happy New Year!
Theresa
