Water+Ink=Birthday Card

Welcome! I have another entry for the Monthly Mix Challenge at Gina K designs. The  January challenge is to use Gina K Inks with water to create a card.  I blended Gina K Fresh Asparagus ink on Gina K white cardstock and the spritzed with water that had some Perfect Pearls mixed in.  Loved the effect...hope you can see in the photo.  Stamped some trees and sentiment from Gina K Northwoods stamp set with Gina K Black ink. Die cut with a Spellbinders Die and simply attached to a Gina K Black cardstock base. Really like this clean and simple masculine card!
Other Challenges:
Cut It Up: Challenge 243 Anything goes.
Seize the Birthday:  #230 Anything Goes Birthday

Playing with Perfect Pearls

Hello!  I made this card for this week's ModSquad challenge -  we are to use Mica powders like perfect pearls on our card.  I stamped Roses from the Gina K Designs set Rose Bouquet with Versamark ink on GKD Red Velvet CS and applied Perfect Pearls to the image.  I colored the leaves with green pencils. Since I did not have a dark green cardstock to use behind the image, I colored white cardstock with green copics to match and also used versamark on the edges with more of the Perfect Pearls. Wanted some shine on the mat.  I cut the mat with a scalloped square die but manipulated the die to create a rectangle shape (only had the square).  Assembled the card with a white card base.  The GKD sentiment was  stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with GKD White EP.
(The color of the leaves and the scallop edges match better in real life but does not appear to in the photo.  I might have liked this card better if I had fussy cut the rose image and placed on a different background. )
Challenges:
ModSquad Challenge:  Mica Powders-use something like perfect pearls.
Monthly Mix Challenge: Just add texture.  Used heat embossing.
Simon Monday Challenge: Frame It.  Used scalloped border to frame the image.
Creative with Stamps: CWS #47 Red
The Flower Challenge: #41 Add Leaves

Christmas Poinsettias

Hello!  Christmas is almost here. Just had to make this Christmas card for the Inspiration Palette D1918 challenge at The House That Stamps Built.  I used Creative Dies Poinsettia Nesting dies (a freebie) with various pink card stocks to create Poinsettias with Green metal brads.  I rubbed  Perfect Pearls on the petals for some shine.   I attached the flowers to a Mint Green Cardstock (Brazzill) layered with a strip of embossed Cranberry CS.  I finished with a Repeat Impressions sentiment stamped in SU Bravo Burgundy ink.

Other Challenges to enter:
Modsquad Challenge: Christmas or Winter Theme Project with Metal Die
Die Cut Divas: December Challenge Theme is Winter/Winter Holidays
Happy Little Stampers: December Anything Goes with Dies
Dies R Us Challenge: #111 Anything Christmas
The Flower Challenge: #27 Use older stamp or die. Dies are a couple years old.

Cabin in the Winter Woods

Hello!  We have had a brief reprieve from cold weather....can you believe it was in the 60's in Ohio this weekend?   But we should have more cold like I'm capturing in this card.  I stamped Repeat Impressions Cabin stamp on white CS with Memento Rich Cocoa.  I then used masking and stamped the trees with GKD stamp from Northwoods 2( just received this with my purchase using the GC that I just won) using Memento ink London Fog.  Sponged some Memento Gray Flannel ink on sky and added some Perfect Pearls to create a wintry looking sky.   Finished with a Get Well sentiment from GKD Scripty Sayings 2 in Rich Cocoa ink. And also added some Liquid Pearls for snow. Used Wine mat and Gray Card Base.

Challenges:
NBUS Challenge: #9 - Used just received new Trees Stamp from GKD and a never before used GKD Sentiment.  Love Darnell's Never Before Used Schtuff challenges.
Mod Squad Challenges: Get Well Soon Please
The House That Stamps Built: Inspiration Palette Challenge J1817 Shown Below.
House of Cards: Group 3 January Challenge -Add a building/color palette. Did Both. Color palette is same as THTSB Challenge.  Not sure of the protocol when 2 challenges have the same inspiration, but I am taking it as a 2 for 1.  Anyone know if that is allowed?

Dreams Come True

Hello!  Today I have been playing with some Perfect Pearls for the first time.  I bought some in Pearl color to make a spraying mist and then decided to use some on a black card using Versamark since I did not buy any Perfect Medium which is best for use with the pearls when stamping.
I was inspired to make this design for the challenge at Less Is More....make a one layer card with the theme Dream.  Instead of White space, I have a lot of Black space which fits into the guidelines for CAS.  I stamped the Repeat Impressions Dandelion Stamp and verse with Versamark ink on a one layer of Black CS and used Rangers Embossing Pearl Green EP on the foliage and verse and heat embossed.  On the rest of the image-the petals-I brushed on the perfect Pearls and removed the excess.  I love the ethereal(light and airy) feel that resulted.
Challenges:
Less Is More: Week 297 One layer card with theme of Dreams.
CAS on Sunday: Challenge #93 is Heat Embossing.
Addicted To Stamps: Challenge #214 Clean and Simple

Have a great day!
