St. Patrick's Day Lantern

Hello! or should I say Top of the Morning to Ya?   I've been having fun creating St. Patrick's cards so I thought I'd make a Lantern for St. Pat's Day as well.  I started with a sheet of 12" x 12" green cardstock and cut the design with my Cameo using Silhouette file #253765 by Suzanne Cannon.  I erased the cuts for the fold lines before cutting because I like to use my Scor-Pal to mark the fold lines.  I think this gives a smoother look to all the folds.  I assembled the lantern and  used vellum to cover the openings.  Placed a battery tea light inside.
Challenges:
Love To Craft Challenge Blog: March LTCCB #44 Anything Goes
Scor-Pal: Scor-pal More Than One Score Challenge March #68 - Anything Goes or Spring/Easter
Cut It Up: Challenge #195 Green with Envy.  Used Silhouette file with Cameo.

K-Cup Holder

Hello!  I an sharing a gift box that I made for holding Pumpkin Spice Coffee K-cups.  I used my Cameo to cut the elements from Orange CS and  Heartful Creations Patterned Papers from Classic Editions Collection but did not use dotted lines for folds(erased those before cutting design). I used Scor-pal to create scoring for fold lines.  The design was 3D coffee cup gift set by Jamie Lane Designs. Use double sided tape to assemble. Fussy cut pumpkins from pattern paper for the top.

Challenges:
Love To Craft Challenge Blog: LTCCB #40 November Anything Goes
Scor-Pal:  More than one score challenge- November #65 Birthday or Fall. Made fall design.
Alphabet Challenge: P is for Poppies or Pumpkins.  My project features Pumpkins.
Coffee Lovers Blog Hop: Projects need to have a caffeinated element.

Happy Travels

Hello!  I am back as promised with another unused digital image from my files.  This one is by From The Hearts called  Happy Travels.  I am glad to have these lovely digital images in my files as this artist is no longer with us.  I printed the image and sentiment in black ink on Cream Cardstock and colored with Black, Brown, and Cream Copics.  I created the brick background ( inspired by the photo) using my Scor-pal and sponging with DOI Vintage Photo. The brown ink took on a  orangey cast on the cream CS? Added a die cut tag from the cream CS embellished with  stickers and a bit of string. Attached the image to a black card base to finish.   Guess the style of the card leans more to clean and layered even though I gave the luggage a vintage look.
Challenges:
The Card Concept: #121 Adventure Awaits. Second entry.  Just had to use this image of stacked suitcases in a card.
ModSquad Challenge: Use 3 colors Black, Brown, and Cream on a card plus a tag.

Join Me for a Pumpkin Latte

Hello! This project was made for the Scor-pal October Challenge #42 Treat Holders to use more than one score.  I used a simple template for a K-cup holder to make this coffee treat.  To make the holder, use one sheet of cardstock and trim to 8.25" by 10.25" and score and trim lines as shown in the diagram below.  Cut circles for the cups and oval on the handle. I am not sure of the source for this template but I found it in one of my files.  I scored using my Scor-pal and cut & trimmed necessary areas and folded the sections and adhered with double sided tape.  I decorated using stamps and dies from September Hero Arts kit and inserted a couple of Cappuccino Pumpkin Lattes.

Pumpkins for Thanksgiving

I'm back!  Again I am playing with the Carved Wood Background technique that I saw here on Stamp TV.  You make a wood grain design on cardstock with scoring and inks and then emboss with an EF and then wipe with white pigment ink to get the final result.  This is a second card for the WCMD challenge at Gina K Design.  I thought I could improve on my first try at this technique.

Friends are Forever

Hello!!  I have been MIA for a week.  My DH and I were spending time with my Mother in Tennessee who celebrated her 95th birthday this past Monday.  Now I am trying to catch up with some of the challenges that I follow.

This card is for Mod Squad Challenge ....Joyce is asking us to CASE a card by anyone we like.  I saw a card by Karen Hightower, GKD DT Moderator that I liked very much and chose it to CASE. See her lovely card here.  I really liked the wood background made with GKD Cranberry Tart CS and white ink and used the same on my card.  My card base is white CS and layered with Honey Mustard CS. I used stamps from GKD Friends Are Forever set which I inked with Memento Tuxedo Black on an Oval of White CS and colored with Copics.  I added some sponging with Memento Summer Sky and finished with a Black Satin Bow and Black Gems from stash.  I even added some falling petals just as Karen did on her card.

Challenges:
Mod Squad Challenge: CASE a card of anyone you'd like.
Stamp TV: Mix It Up Monday-OVALERLY Easy- Cat asked us to use an Oval shape on your card.
My card just happens to use an oval so I can enter this challenge too.

Thanks to Karen for making her beautiful card and allowing me to CASE.
I enjoy all your comments. Thank you. Theresa

Cheers for the New Year

Hello! It is hard to believe 2014 has almost ended.  This year has passed so quickly and has been a year filled with card making.  Today's card was inspired by pattern paper from Paper House's At The Vineyard Pad that  I received at Christmas.  I did not want to hide the beautiful scene on the paper so I stamped on two squares of Vellum using Repeat Impressions Wine Series stamps with Versamark and embossed with Pearl Gold EP. Colored wine with Copic Marker on the back of the vellum.  I framed each with die cuts using Nesties Scalloped Square dies and attached these over the scene.  Finished with some score lines inked with Memento Rich Cocoa and a stamped wine cork using another stamp from the same set to complete the design of the sketch .

Challenges:
The House That Stamps Built: What IF? Wednesday sketch #D2414.
Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge: Monthly Challenge to use patterned paper

Have a Glass Of Wine?

Welcome! I hope you have time for a glass of wine.  I am using Repeat Impressions stamps from their Wine Series set.  I stamped the bottle, glasses, and sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on a one layer card of White CS. I colored the images with assorted pencils and markers and added some shadows with a gray pencil. I tried to make the label on the bottle look very vintage..... the older the wine, the better it is.  I scored 3 lines at the lower edge to finish and anchor the card.

Challenges:
Less Is More Challenge: This week it is a One Layer Challenge and the theme is Beverages.
Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge; #246 is Clean and Simple

I enjoy all your comments. Thank you. Theresa

"Caddy" for My Flower Making Tools

Today I am sharing a project to enter for this month's Challenge at Scor-pal's More Than One Score Challenge # 8.   We are to use  "Fun Storage Ideas" theme on a scored project. We can make a caddy, a set of drawers, a photo album, anything that stores something, not a gift bag/box that is only temporary.  And it must have more than one fold.

I like to keep my flower making tools separate from other tools so I can find them and move to what ever location I am working.  I also threw in my Cameo tools as well.  I made a caddy adapting a favor box pattern from Silhouette .  I cut out the box with the Cameo from some pretty Pattern Paper from Crate Paper DIY Collection which is a strong enough paper for this project.  (I thought the colors went with the colors of the tools and other colors in my studio.)
I then scored the fold lines with Scor-pal and assembled the box using Scor-tape. ( When I cut with the Cameo, I eliminated some of the dash lines for folds which I think weaken the folds.)  The handles on the "caddy" make it easy to pick up and move around.  I added some ribbon streamers just for the fun of it.

Actually I made 2 of the "caddies"....the second one is used for leftovers until I use them or find a place for.

Have A Sunny Day

Hello!  I have received some new Power Poppy stamps that were recently released and just had to ink one up.  I decided to start with the bouquet of sunflowers from Sunny Harvest set.  I stamped the image woth Memento Espresso Truffle ink and  colored with yellows and rusty reds. I added some CS of bright grassy green that matched the color of the leaves. I stamped the sentiment from this set in Rhubarb Stalk ink and added a loop of glittery yellow wired ribbon. I loved the layer of rusty red pattern paper under the image.  I followed the sketch from Sketch Saturday challenge finishing with some score lines on lower part of card.

Challenges:
Power Poppy Blog: Challenge is POP Goes the world-use at least three out of the four colors  highlighted on the graphic shown on right . One Layer with Flowers

Welcome!  I am always trying to add more interest to my one layer designs.  Today I embossed a Chevron design on white Cardstock using an Easy Frame to  create a rectangle area in the center without embossing to be able to stamp a design in the flat area. After stamping my flowers I made score lines around the area to create more of a framed image.  I colored the image with Copics and stamped the sentiment with ink.

Speedy the Fox has a Photo Inspired Challenge

Good Morning and welcome!  We have an interesting challenge at Speedy Fox and Friends this week---A Photo Inspiration Challenge.   Be inspired by the photo shown on the left to make a card. It will be interesting to see what you come up with so please join in and you could win a stamp from Mark's Finest Paper, a Heinrich Co. You have until 3PM on Friday, October 19, 2012, to enter the challenge here.  If you use Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co. stamp, your name will be entered into the drawing twice.  I was a bit stumped but finally came up with a card using "Autumn Splendor" set by Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co.  I used Scor-pal to set up a tile design for the background and sponged with Memento Inks. I layered this on a white card base. Added a green flourish cut with Cheery Lynn Die "Fanciful Flourish" and then added the Owl and Leaves with Acorns that I stamped, embossed (Leaves),   colored with Copics and fancy cut. I used colors brown, gray, yellow, taupe and tan  from the photo to inspire my choice of colors. Finished with sentiment using Memento Pistachio.

I enjoy all your comments. Thank you. Theresa

Days Flutter By

Hello again!  I am back with a card for another challenge at The House That Stamps Built blog. This time it is the Designer's Choice Challenge DCC815 - to use scoring on you card.  I could not card without my Scor-Pal or at least not enjoy doing it as much.  I used my Scor-Pal to create a background for this card by scoring lines in a grid pattern making a somewhat tile design. After that I used a pod to add Memento Grey Flannel ink to highlight the score lines making  it appear to look like marble tiles. I placed this on a card base of Yellow CS.  I stamped 3 butterflies -  2 small and 1 large on the same Yellow CS with Memento Tuxedo Black and cut them out without the antennae. I added twine to replace the antennae as I attached them to the card. Also gave each a black Pearl Head. Used the sentiment "Some days just seem to flutter by! " thinking that this entire summer seems to have fluttered by and so quickly!   All the stamps used in making this card were from an unmounted sheet of stamps that I won from Repeat Impressions....love using them. Aren't the details on the butterflies just beautiful!
In addition to the Repeat Impressions Challenge,  I am entering:
Challenges:
Flutter By Wednesday: Open challenge...must have butterfly or fairy. Welcome back to this challenge blog.
Whoopsi Daisy Challenge: Anything Goes

I enjoy all your comments. Thank you. Theresa

Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge

Welcome! Our challenge at Speedy Fox and Friends this week is to use Score Lines on a project.  I hope you find some new ideas to try from our talented team. I decided to make a circle using a 1.25" x 12" strip of paper and and scoring it to form a circle to showcase the Poppy that I stamped, colored with Copics, and cut out. This is a stamp from the recently released Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co. called "Welcome Poppies".  I also used the beautifully scripted "Thank You" from the same set. I used another strip of the Pattern Paper along the side of the card. I thought the colors and design of this pattern complemented the Poppy design. Before assembling the card, I scored some lines to add interest and texture.....this such a simple and easy step but adds so much. This is really a one layer card but has so much depth with the use of scoring and the addition of the scored circle.
Supplies:
Stamps: Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co.  "Welcome Poppies".
Inks: Memento Rich Cocoa
Copics: G20,21,82, R24,27,46
Black and Yellow Glaze Pens for center of Poppy
Papers: Green and White CS from Stash. K&Co Pattern

Please join in the challenge this week for a chance to win a MFP stamp Set. You have until 3PM on Friday June 29, 2012 to post your card. Remember, if you use MFP, a Heinrich Company stamps your name will be entered into the drawing twice.
Thanks for coming by. I enjoy all your comments. Thank you. Theresa

One Layer Cards

I was just playing with some kraft paper to see if I could make a one layer card using only sentiments stamps. This is for the challenge at Simplicity's One-Layer Wednesday Challenge to use more than one sentiment--at least two Sentiments on one card!!!!! NO IMAGE STAMPS ALLOWED!!!  Did some scoring with scor-pal on top card and used the scor-bug on bottom card.
Sentiment Stamps are from Flourishes "Humming Along" and Mark's Finest Papers "Thankful Mums and Pumpkins" and "Hello Sunshine". Used Memento Rich Cocoa Ink. Photos kind of distorted cards...sentiments are stamped straighter than shows...BIRL.

Challenges:
One-Layer Wednesday as above
Little Red Wagon: Challenge is One Layer Wonder

Thanks for stopping by! Theresa

One Layer Challenge

At Simplicity, Susan's One Layer Challenge this week is to use a border stamp on a card.  Use a border stamp or, if you don't have a border stamp, either create one by repeating a small stamp.  Remember to keep embellishments to a minimum.
I have a stamp set from Martha Stewart that has some border stamps that I have never used so I inked one of them with some Memento Paris Dusk and stamped this very simple border on a white cardstock. Added some score lines with my Scor-pal.  Stamped the Thank You from a new set from Mark's Finest Papers "Thankful Mums and Pumpkin".  Like the navy color with the crispness of white card stock...nice change from my black and brown ink that I use so much.
Love these simple challenges but it does take some planning and the execution must be flawless since you cannot hide mistakes with layers, etc.
