Autumn Brings Pumpkins

Welcome to the studio!  Playing with a Pumpkin stamp from Repeat Impressions to create a Clean and Simple card for a couple of challenges.  I stamped the Pumpkin on the corner of a white card stock with Memento Tangelo ink and  colored with Copics using colors from the graphic below. I added die cut leaves in 2 shades of green (from my leftover stash of die cuts).  The Autumn Stamp from stash was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa ink. Attached to a Dark Brown card base.

Made With Digital Images

Hello!  I just discovered some digital images created and sold by Beverly Cole at The Artsystamper Shop through reading a post on Dar's Crafty Creations.  I was playing with some digital images that I bought and created a very quick card using Photoshop.  I used the maple leaf trio image already colored to create the background and used  the colored pumpkin image as the focus.  I  added the sentiment and then printed off the design on white CS which I sized to fit on a 4'"x 5.25" panel.

To finish I sponged on some DOI Spiced Marmalade and added some glossy accents to the handle for some texture. I used a Black Glaze pen to trace the word Friendship which makes it look heat embossed. I attached the printed image on a card base of GKD Fresh Asparagus CS.

I don't make many cards just using digital images but once upon a time I made cards just using a printer and computer....read on.

  When I first began making homemade cards for my friends and family, I used only a computer, printer/scanner, and white card stock  to design and create my cards.  That was some time around 1998 or 1999.  I used no inks, no stamps, no embellishments, no glue, no tape, no trimmer, no die cut machine, etc.  I used The Print Shop program to design my card with photographs that I scanned (no such thing as digital pictures) or clip art and printed sentiments. After I designed on the computer,  I simply printed the front, back, and inside of my card on a single piece of white card stock.  I folded the card making it a 5.5" x 8.5" -what is called half card size- no need to trim or cut.  They were true one layer cards with no dimension or texture.  Later I started using Photoshop to enhance my printed cards and started using more digital images.  It's fun how you can manipulate the images.  I learned all this by trial and errors....not many You Tubes How To Do Videos back then.

After I retired, I became interested in stamping when my next door neighbor and friend shared with me her cardmaking techniques using stamps and inks. I shortly joined her card making club in 2005 and began to collect all sorts of stamps, inks, die cuts, embossing folders, papers, embellishments, tapes, glues and all those things that I "had to have" to make a card. Now I need a room to hold all my supplies and tools, no longer just a desk with a computer and printer and a stack of white card stock. 

How things have changed in the world of card making!

I made this card just for the fun of it....not for a challenge...….reminded me of how I began making cards.

Thanks with Some Pumpkins

Welcome!  Still thinking of fall leaves and pumpkins.  I came across this cute Dearie Dolls digital image in my files and decided to print out and put on a thank you card. I added some coloring to the already colored version and trimmed with a die and placed on a brown mat and then an embossed orange card base.  Used a Sizzix  EF Thanks.

Pumpkin Full of Roses

Hello!  Don't you just love "Pumpkin Season"....could be another name for Fall?  And I love using pumpkins on cards....maybe it's the bright color that gets me.  I just had to make this card following the current sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches...just called out for a pumpkin in that square element.   And that photo inspiration from Time Out challenges said to add some orange roses.  The layering rose stamps from Gina K's Old Country Roses were perfect for that and I popped them up with foam tape.  Used Gina K Ivory and Grass Green CS's with a pattern paper from a Fancy Pants Designs pad.  Used Cheery Lynn Large Flourish die (rearranged) and Nesties square dies. Pumpkin stamp from Repeat Impressions.  Sentiment stamp from a Gina K set. Used Memento inks for stamping and Copics for coloring. Finished with some bling of Orange Dew Drops.

Join Me for a Pumpkin Latte

 Hello! This project was made for the Scor-pal October Challenge #42 Treat Holders to use more than one score.  I used a simple template for a K-cup holder to make this coffee treat.  To make the holder, use one sheet of cardstock and trim to 8.25" by 10.25" and score and trim lines as shown in the diagram below.  Cut circles for the cups and oval on the handle. I am not sure of the source for this template but I found it in one of my files.  I scored using my Scor-pal and cut & trimmed necessary areas and folded the sections and adhered with double sided tape.  I decorated using stamps and dies from September Hero Arts kit and inserted a couple of Cappuccino Pumpkin Lattes.

Thanksgiving Theme

Hello!  For fall cards, I keep going back to this Pumpkin stamp that I think is PSX and I have had many years.  I created this card for several challenges adding a Sunflower to the card with an old MFP stamp. The sentiment is from Gina K Design set.

Thank You Card

Hello!  Another quick and easy card that I made for the WIW color challenge at The House That Stamps Built to use Gold, Orange, and Brown or Black.  I used Repeat Impressions Vertical Sentiment stamp and Pumpkin stamp on this CAS design.  The stamped image layer was edged with gold metallic marker and placed on a Brown card base.  Making this post quick and short.

Glittery Pumpkin

 

Hello!  I have combined pattern paper, gold metallic CS, die cuts, and a fussy cut pumpkin to create this card.  The Repeat Impressions pumpkin was stamped on an Oyster Pearl CS with Versamark and embossed with Gold EP.  I decorated the pumpkin with Metallic Gold Dots to make even more glittery.

Words + Pattern + Pumpkin = Card

 

Welcome Friends! I was looking for a pattern paper for another project when I came across a floral pattern with the colors Orange, Turquoise, and Violet that was perfect for the color challenge at The House That Stamps Built.... so I set it aside and came back to it later to create this card using a sketch from The Challenge shown below.  I place a panel of the pattern from a GKD paper pad on to an Orange Card Base that I embossed with Darice EF Floral Frenzy  and added a Pumpkin image made with a Repeat Impressions stamp and colored with Copics.  Added the words cut with Cheery Lynn dies from Turquoise and Violet CS scraps.

Thank You Card for Fall

 

 

Hello! I am back today with a quick entry for the WIW Color Challenge at The House That Stamps Built.  We are to use Orange, Lime, and Purple and/or Black.   I have used these colors with a Sketch 290  from Sweet Sunday to make a Fall Thank You card with Repeat Impressions Pumpkin and Vertical Thanks stamps.  I also used a portion of an EF Thanks from Sizzix, Cuttlebug  EF Victoria Copics Markers, Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and Nesties Circle dies.

Fall Pumpkin

 

 

 Hello! I seem to be making a lot of pumpkin cards lately!  Today I am using a neutral color pumpkin that I cut with a file with my Cameo from an off white paper and kraft CS.  I embossed the pumpkin pieces with Darice EF Chevron for texture and inked the edges.  Following a sketch (rotated) from the Die Cuttin  Divas Challenge,  I assembled Kraft CS as the base, layered wood grain Pattern Paper from MME Now and Then pad.  I popped up the pumpkin in the center with the stem and a bow of Raffia.  Attached the sentiment cut with Lawn Fawn stitched circle die and added the Kraft leaf.

I would consider the style of my card as Clean and Layered. Used clean lines,layers, embossing, pattern papers, etc. Inspired by the pumpkins and wood background.

Thanksgiving Couple

 Hello!  It soon will be Thanksgiving and we have so much to be Thankful for and I thought of those Blessings as I created this card using a great digital image from Dearie Dolls Digi Stamps who has so many cute images for FREE.  I printed this Pilgrim Couple ready to give thanks and colored them with Copics and Pencils. I trimmed the image and placed on a GKD Pattern Paper with orange ribbons from stash.  The Card Base is a rust colored CS.  The stamp is MFP"s inked with Memento Rich Cocoa.  I followed the sketch from Sweet Sunday but with a flip.

Scary Cat on a Pumpkin

Hello!  For this Vintage Halloween card, I have used a Vintage image of the cat on a pumpkin from Plumrose Lane that I sized and printed and then fussy cut.  I arranged that with vintage looking pattern paper from Echo Park The Apothecary Emporium pad, 2 of which I cut with Cheery Lynn Swedish Spring Oval Frame doily die.  The card base is Slate gray CS layered with another pattern from the same pad. I placed some Kraft CS under the doily with the image before adhering to the card.  Added a black Olive branch cut with Cheery Lynn die, some red ribbon to the cat and glossy accents to the pumpkin. Colored the cat's hat red with a Copic.  Attached a Kraft tag stamped with MFP's stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black.

Happy Fall

Today, I am back to thinking of fall and have used inspiration from The Cutting Edge Challenge to create this project.  Pulling colors of orange, blue, green, brown and black, lower edge of grass, and the layout of their photo,  I designed the card with those elements.  I cut the pumpkin and grass on the Cameo using Silhouette files and cut birds and fence with dies from Marianne.  I assembled all the pieces on a card base of Blue CS and stamped the sentiment from SU with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  All cardstock was from stash and scraps.

Friends of SpeedyTV Challenge

Happy Monday! The Thanksgiving Holiday is almost here. The Friends of Speedy TV are asking you to create a Thanksgiving Card for the challenge this week.  I have made a card using stamps from Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co. including "Autumn Splendor", "Scenic Selections", and "Daffodil Greetings".    I stamped the pumpkin on orange CS with Memento Toffee Crunch and also on a green CS . I then paper pieced the top of the pumpkin using the green for the stem and leaves. The pumpkin was cut out and attached to an Ivory Mat  on which I had stamped the leaves and sentiments. I also had embossed the upper part of this mat with Cuttlebug EF Divine Swirls and added some score lines. I adhered this to an Orange mat and then a Pattern Paper Mat from K&Company. I  attached this to the card base of a lighter Orange CS.

Happy Fall with Digis

 

It has been awhile since I did a Meljens Design Challenge and I do love to create with her images.  This card is for a sketch challenge shown on the left. I used 3 of her images-Happy Fall (for my DP that I created), Happy Fall Badge, and Two Leaves. I colored with Copics and Markers. I cut the badge with a Nesties circle die and matted with a larger circle. I embossed the 2 images that I matted with Cuttlebug EF Victoria and Divine Swirls. Finished with some scoring and grosgrain ribbon in a fall color.
