Happy Easter!

Hello! I created this quick Easter card with a printed image that I had saved on my computer. After printing the image that I resized, I inked the edges with Pilot Metallic Gold marker and attached to a green panel embossed with Cuttlebug EF Divine Swirls. Finished with a yellow card base and an old Hero Arts sentiment embossed with Gold EP.

Easter Blessings

Hello! Today I am sharing 2 Easter cards that I made using a file of an artist drawing that I had saved in a file.  I printed the image on watercolor paper twice and trimmed to fit my card. I inked the edges with Pilot Metallic Gold Marker. On the first card I used a background that I created with Gold Metallic CS, a My Favorite Things stencil called Radiating Rays, and GKD Gold Glitter Gel. I assembled all on a Bright Green textured card base. The Easter sentiment from GKD was stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Gold EP.

The second card was made in the same way, but I used a mat of Gold Metallic paper that was embossed with a Cuttlebug EF Kassies Brocade.

Recycling Catalog Photos for Cards

Hello! I have not been blogging much in the past 2 months but hope to get back in the routine of posting and visiting other blogs this month.  I have started the year by trying to use up some of my stash and saved items to clean up my studio. I will share more of those projects later.  I am always seeing useful items for cards in all paper goods including magazines, advertising, catalogs, napkins, cards etc. that I receive.  

Today I am sharing several cards that I made for a package that I will be mailing to a Life Care Center.  Since I was looking for some ideas for quick and easy Easter cards to create for the nursing home, I was inspired to use photos of flowers from a plant catalog ( I seem to receive one almost weekly).  As I was about to throw the latest envelope with ads away, I thought how the photos would make lovely cards using some colorful card bases and simple sentiments.  For the card bases I used Yellow, Pink, and Green textured cardstock from Bazzill that I found at Tuesday Morning.  I trimmed the photos and attached to the card bases and then added  Easter sentiments that I stamped with some  Hero Arts and  Gina K stamps. Used Black Versafine ink for stamping. The photos shown include about 31 of the 45 cards that I have made.  I printed a verse for inside the cards on white cardstock and attached to the inside.

I thought this was a productive way to use something rather than just add to the trash. I hope the cards make someone smile and feel that they are remembered at Easter.

Completed Easter Cards

Hello!  This post is to share my cards that I completed for my Mother's Care Center in Tennessee that I mailed yesterday.  Since they cannot have visitors, I thought these cards might bring some cheer to them at Easter.  The last box of 80 cards that I sent to them earlier this month was used by the residents to mail to their loved ones through the assistance of their Activities Director.  She helped the residents address the cards and write personal messages in the cards in addition to my greetings inside.  What a nice way for the residents to touch base with their family and friends.  Thanks to Hyacie for doing that. 

Nearly everyone of these cards used bits and pieces from my leftover box and scraps and other recycled elements. It was fun to see how I could use up and salvaged those items.  I was able to assemble quite an assortment of cards. I hope the residents at Life Care Center enjoy the cards.

Easter Card Continues

Today I have 3 versions of Easter cards using the same older stamps Hero Arts Sentiment and a cross stamp from Inkadinkado.  The designs shown on the left are 2 that I posted some time ago but I just created the one on the right using a fancy die cut oval and dry embossing with Wicker Weave EF on the brown background layer. I did add a sentiment to the middle card after the photo was made.  These will go into the box of Easter cards that I am assembling for the Life Care Center in Tennessee.

Another one for the box. This Easter card was made using an old Flourishes stamp Spring Has Sprung from 2011 designed by Marcella Hawley.  I colored the stamped image found in my Bits and Pieces box with Copics, trimmed it and added to a scrap of shiny pink cs and placed on a layer of Patterned Paper from Joanne's.  Finished with a Hero Arts sentiment stamped in green and a white card base.  Love this cute Bunny group.

More Easter Cards

Hello! Today I am sharing more of the Easter cards that I am making to send to a nursing home for the residents who are unable to have visitors. I am using up bits and pieces from my leftover boxes of stamped images, scraps, and die cuts to create some of the cards.   Above are 4 cards that I made with Yellow Chicks.   The baby chicks were made with 2 round circle dies, bits of snowflake die for the feet, scrap of orange cs for the beak, and black gems for the eyes.   Attached the to a dry embossed oval of Brown CS and Bright Yellow card base. Finished with a sentiment stamped with an unknown rubber stamp  more than 5 years old. 

Challenges:
Retro Rubber Challenge : #131 X+O   Tic Tac Toe-used Easter, Die cut, Baby Animals. Stamp over 5 years old. Card may not qualify since I cannot identify stamp.  Just sharing for fun. 

These 2 cards were made with leftover Bunny die cuts and papers. Used round velcro pieces for tails.

Easter Cards Continued

 Welcome!  I have more cards to add to the box to send to my Mother's Life Care Center.  And I have a request-can anyone identify the digital image that I used in the cards above? I failed to identify the source of the image in my file.  But I thought it was perfect for Easter cards. I hope I am not infringing on any copyrights.  I printed the design on watercolor paper, inked the edges with a pastel Copics, and attached to an assortment of pastel card bases.  Used printed messages inside. This is an easy and quick card to mass produce if I need more.

These are 2 cards from my stash that I modified to fit the Easter theme and added inside messages.

Easter Cards

Welcome to the studio! As I posted earlier I have been working on making Easter cards to send to my Mother's Life Care Center for all the residents. I am sharing some photos of the 80 plus cards that I am making. I am using up bits and pieces from my leftover boxes of stamped images, scraps, and die cuts to create the cards.  The top 3 cards were made with already colored images from an earlier project from several years ago.  The stamps were from Flourishes A Year of Flowers set designed by Marcella Hawley.  I trimmed the images and matted with green scraps and added to some textured card stock bases.  Stamped with an old Hero Arts sentiment. I printed messages for the inside using large print on copy paper.

 More cards with leftovers from earlier projects. Die cut bunnies were cut with Cameo. Pink  Bunny tails are round circles of fuzzy Velcro with adhesive backs found in a drawer in the studio. The Bunny in the Basket is an PSX stamp from 1990.  How fun it is to use up leftovers. Feels like I am being productive to clean up some of these supplies.

Shining with a Stencil

Hello! I thought this CAS card would be appropriate for some challenges on my list this week.   I used a stencil from My Favorite Things to create sun beams with Yellow ink. I used some stamps from my older Gina K stamps.  Stamped the image and sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Spring Crocus

Hello!  The only crocus I have growing are under a fresh blanket of snow this morning.  So I pulled out an older  Crocus stamp from Spring Florals set by Gina K Designs, that I have had since about 2011, to make a Spring/Easter card.  I stamped the crocus twice using masking on GKD White cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I colored the images with Copics and adhered the panel to a card base of GKD Grass Green.  Stamped the Easter sentiment in Memento Bamboo Leaves ink. Added a few sequins but kept the design clean and simple.

One Layer with Stencil

Time to mail some Easter cards.  I made this for Challenge #367 at Less Is More to make a One Layer Card using stencils.  I used a Tim Holtz stencil Lace Layering to create this with4  Distress Oxide Inks and White Cardstock. Used masking to create the strip of blue.  I stamped the Hero Arts sentiment with Picked Raspberry ink.  I like the mix of colors....like colorful Easter eggs.

Easter Chick

Hello!  I have another Easter card to share.   I was inspired mostly by the photo from Inspired By All the Little Things Challenge. My chick was made with 2 circle dies cut from Yellow CS, the nose and feet from Orange CS, and a feather.  He was attached to an Oval die cut from Brown CS and embossed for texture with Gingham EF. This was attached to a Shimmering Yellow card base that was stamped with a GKD sentiment from Spring Florals and heat embossed with Zing Chestnut EP.

Easter Card with Printed Cellophane

Hello! Easter will soon be here so I am inspired to make Easter cards. I was thinking of the challenge at Stamp TV when I created this card.  I used a GKD Easter sentiment stamp with Memento Green ink stamped 3 times on white CS, GKD Grass Green CS, and a printed clear cellophane panel that was used for wrapping a pot of flowers.  I also stamped some foliage with GKD Handmade Botanicals stamp with the sentiments. Finished with a pink Washi tape.

Challenges:

Stamp TV: Mix It Up Monday Challenge-create a “EASTER” card/project…NO FLOWER CARDS. This was a stretch for me since I mostly have Flower stamps from GKD, but I did find an   GKD Easter stamp from a old set called Spring Florals.

Bunny Artist

Hello!  I have been MIA for a couple of months but am back to share a card that I have made.  This card was made by printing a digital image Bunny Painting Egg from Craftin Desert Divas and colored with Copics and Glitter pens.  I added some GKD washi tape in neon colors and added to a Turquoise card base.  I wrote the sentiment with an orange Copic trying to make it look as if it was painted with a brush by the bunny.
