Al's List to Santa

Hello!  I wanted to make a Santa card for the Challenge at Merry Monday Christmas and decided to use one of my files from Silhouette - Santa's face by Sarah Bailey.  I printed and cut the image and used it with an old pattern paper from Webster Pages Waiting for Santa pad.  I stamped a couple of sentiments from Hero Arts and wrote on the list to Santa for my DH.  Need to add Book to the list since there is one more line. Finished with a Green Card Base that matched the pattern.
For fun, I added a little twinkle to Santa's eyes  with Clear Star pen.  Even without his hat, you know this is Santa.

Challenges:
Cards In Envy: It's Only Paper Challenge.  Nothing but paper and ink on my card.
Double D Challenges: Here Comes Santa

Have a great day! I love reading your comments. Theresa

Spring Azalea

Welcome!  I am looking forward to the blooming of Azaleas but I was able to capture this lovely flowering plant on a card with a stamp designed by Marcella Hawley for her new company Power Poppy.  I stamped with Memento Espresso Truffle ink on white CS ....this gives a much softer look than stamping with black ink.  I colored the image with Copics E 25,35, YG 000,63,93, and YR 000,00,02 and cut with Spellbinder Die Label 4. All the pattern papers that I used are from Webster Pages Park Drive pad that was from Joan's Gardens. I used strips of gold under the image and green as the border for the image layered on the check which has all the colors that I used. Finished with a sentiment from MFP's stamped in Memento Olive Green ink.

Challenges:
Joan's Touch: Challenge is to use plaid, check, or striped paper, a border around an image, any colors, and a product sold at Joan's Gardens. Pattern papers are from Joan's .
Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Papers: Challenge is anything goes as long as patterned papers cover entire card.

I hope to work in my gardens again today.....temperatures to be in the 70's.
I enjoy all your comments. Thank you. Theresa

Playing with Colors and Dies

Welcome! This card was the result of playing with some colorful  papers from Webster Pages Park Drive pad and some Cheery Lynn Dies.  I was trying to design an entry for the challenge Anything Goes at Cheery Lynn Design Blog.  I used Ivory CS as the base and Green Paper for accents cut with Ambergris  Tiny Doily and Cathedral Lace Frame (used only a side panel from the frame).    I am always experimenting with different uses of dies rather than the intended use. The other elements are all from Pattern Papers cut with Build A Flower #1 and Ambergris Die.  I used Spellbinders dies for the circles. I used Memento Morocco ink for the MFP's stamp.  I was using the sketch below for the layout.   I do like the combo of colors and the pop of the spiky flower.

Photo came out a bit dark so use your imagination.

No Coloring Used in the Making of this Card

Welcome! The challenge at Flourishes Timeless Tuesday is to use a stamped image but no coloring. Less is More!  This was a bit difficult for me because I love coloring.  The card that I came up with was to stamp the Rose image from Flourishes "Flowers for Jan" on red cardstock with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and fussy cut the image.  If I were home, I would have used my Cameo for cutting. I layered the image on patterned paper from Webster's Pages that I edged with red ink. Added a red organdy ribbon and sentiment using the same stamp set and Memento Red Ink.  Attached to GKD Ivory cardstock base.

I enjoy all your comments. Thank you. Theresa

Another Christmas Card in August

Welcome to my blog!  Today I am posting a card for Joan's Garden Challenge to make a Vintage card , use a bird, use a scenic pattern paper, use a die for your sentiment, and use a product sold at Joan's Gardens.  My Christmas Vintage card is made with a Webster Page from Waiting for Santa which I distressed with a paper distresser and Distress Ink Tea Dye. I wrapped this with twine from my stash and placed on a mat of Authentique striped paper from Collection Wonder. This went on a card base of Kraft Cardstock. I added the sentiment from GKD stamped with Memento Rhubarb Stalk on a die cut of parchment cut with Spellbinders Label 4 and layered on the striped paper cut with a larger Label 4. Finished with a leaf from stash and a red bird cut with a Marianne die. Thanks to my husband's suggestion,  I added some Stickles to the roof edges of the houses for sparkle.

Webster Pages (have hoarded these papers for awhile) were from Joan's Gardens but may not still be available. Marianne Die " House, Bird and Fence" and Memento Inks are available at Joan's too.  See details for challenge http://www.atjoansgardens.com/

Other Challenges:
Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra: Anything goes as long as it is Christmas.

Christmas Tag

Good Morning. Taking some time out to make a tag for some challenges. I used paper from Webster's Pages "Waiting for Santa & Sweet Season" and cut out a section using Spellbinders Classic Keyhole Die that I attached to white CS for the back (used same die).   I added some stickles to Santa and did some highlights with Sakura Clear star pen and Red Glaze pen. May have to enlarge to see. Stamped a sentiment from Flourishes "Doves and Holly" with Memento Rhubarb Stalk and stamped back with "To" and "From" from GKD. Edged Tag with Pilot Gold Marker. Finished with some metallic ribbon from stash to hang on package. Quick and simple tag but I liked the result.

Challenges:
Joan's Gardens Challenge: Make a tag. Anything Goes.
Using Webster's Pages Petite Paper that I won from Joan's Gardens that I save for special projects.

Blue Christmas for Phindy

At Phindy's Place the challenge is Blue Christmas. I thought the "Improve With Age" image was a great choice to use for my card. I colored the image with Copics and cut it out and used a Webster's Page from "Waiting for Santa & Sweet Season" petite papers as the background that I embossed with CB EF Divine Swirls and sponged with blue distress inks. Added some liquid pearls to the mistletoe.  Added a Christmas sentiment from Creative Clear Stamps embossed in gold EP. Used a Blue CS from my stash as the base.  Used Clearstar pen to add some highlights. I love this happy loving couple as my focus all dressed up in blues.

Hope this card makes someone smile.
I enjoy all your comments. Thank you. Theresa

Birthday Card with Roses

One of the challenges that I look forward to each week is the one at Joan's Gardens. She has the most unique challenges. This week, she requires:
• Window Top Card ( an opening in the top of the card with the design on the inside) • Add three colors of flowers for the focal point. • A Birthday card
I combined this with other challenges. I found my inspiration from a patterned paper from Webster's Pages that I received from Joan's. I cut the window with Spellbinders Blossom die in the front of the card...layered the pattern over the ivory card base before cutting . Cut a frame of the ivory CS for the outside and inside of the opening. Made 3 roses of different colors using Heartfelt Creations Grandiflora Rose stamps. Shaped flowers and added some glitter and finished with glitter domes in centers. Cut branches with leaves and arranged these with roses on the inside of card. Finished outside with sentiment and some green rhinestones.

Challenges:
Joan's Garden: Read above
Tuesday Throwdown: Challenge is Florals
The ABC Challenge:  R is for Roses
Paper Pretties: Bring on some bling
AllSorts Challenge:  Blooming Blossoms
Charisma Cards: Bling and Sparkles

Crochet Flowers by My Friend,Rita

I missed Joan's Garden Challenge last week but wanted to enter a card this week. I am very pleased with this birthday card.  Had some collaboration with my friend and neighbor, Rita, who crocheted these flowers on my card and I colored them with copics to match the card. These challenges called for self made or handmade flowers. These flowers are handmade but just not by my hands or myself. Is that bending the rules a bit? You know, I do not want to take credit for something I did not do but they were perfect for my card.

Challenges:
Joan's Garden: 1. Use Coral/pink and Green for your colors 2. A Birthday Sentiment 3. Vintage Paper  4. Handmade or Punch flower.
Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge: Use self made flower

Details:
Stamp: Mark's Finest Papers-Sentiment from "Happy Pansies" stamp set-love this stamp.
Ink: MementoTuxedo Black
Papers: Bazzill Freen textured CS, GKd White CS, Webster Pages "Santa and Sweet Season" that I won from Joan's Gardens- love this paper..have to have more. Thanks, Joan.
Flowers:Crocheted by Rita and colored with Copics R81.Thank you,Rita.
Twine: From a tag on a jacket purchased by DH in Sanibel-most expensive embellishment that I have ever used. LOL.

Sending a prayer for Joan's mother who is very ill and hoping that she finds some comfort from the love around her.
Thanks for stopping by! Theresa
