Playing with a Dove

Hello!  I have been "experimenting" with different versions of a Christmas card made with a Cottage Cutz Dove cut out that I have had a number of years.  These cards were very quick to make....it took me longer to find where the die was in my studio than it did to make all the  cards.
The top card has the blue card base with a layer of watercolor paper that I sponged with DI Tumbled Glass.  The Dove was cut from plain white CS. The Power Poppy sentiment is stamped with DI Broken China.

The second card is the same as the first but  I added the sprig of green cut with the same die.

Challenges to enter:
Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge: #256 Theme is Things with wings
Addicted to CAS: #77 Dimension....Dove popped up for dimension.
AAA Cards: Game #53 Anything Goes
CAS on Sunday: #72 Make a CAS Christmas card
The Glory Of Christmas: #72 CAS
Merry Monday Christmas Challenge: #181  Blue and White with Texture.  The bottom card has the most texture of the ones shown.
Shopping Our Stash: #229 No stamping.
Bottom card has absolutely no stamping.
Simon Wednesday Challenge: Simon says Christmas
This third card has the same card base but the white layer is White CS that I water colored with DI Tumbled Glass.  I like the background that this made for the Dove cut from Watercolor paper which has a nice texture.  I stamped this card with a Spellbinders sentiment also in the DI Broken China.

I am not sure why I water colored on the plain CS but sponged ink  on the watercolor paper.  It seems I should have done that in reverse but I liked the results.  Maybe the next time I will do that.

The bottom card is with a White Card base and a Blue CS layer embossed with CB EF Divine Swirls.  The Dove is cut from a White Textured CS and centered on the card.  All Doves where attached with pop up tape. I think using foam cut with the die would work really well but I do not have any white foam.  The sentiment Peace on Earth was cut from an embossed border  of Glossy White CS with Christmas words. No stamping on this card.

Spooky Pumpkins

Hello! Still feeling vibes of Fall and Halloween in my card designs.  For this one I have used A Day For Daisies digital image  Barrel of Fall Flowers printed on White CS and colored with Copics and sparkles with Clear Star pen.  The Kraft card base is layered with a pattern from  The Apothecary Emporium pad from Echo Park. that I embossed with Cuttlebug EF Divine Swirls. I finished the design with row of Black Lace (colored with black Copic),  Spooky die cut with Cottage Cutz , and a Raven leftover from another project.  Think this was cut with Cricut.  The Raven seems to be watching over the black birds on the barrel...Spooky!!!

Thankful for Daddy Bear

I am making this as a special Thanksgiving card for my husband whom I  affectionately call "Daddy Bear". The idea of this card has been churning around in my head since I read the challenge at the Scrapping Cottage Blog to create a project using frames and  use any Cottage Cutz die. I do not have any frame dies so I had to be creative and  use a die to make my own. I used the Cottage Cutz Acorn Embellishment Die and made my frame with leaves and branches cut with the die. I used the frame to highlight the Bear cut with Cottage Cutz Bear Die. Added some Acorns cut with the die.
Supplies:
Cottage Cutz Dies and Spellbinders Circle Die
Papers: GKD Ivory CS, Pumpkin Spice CS, Echo Paper Stripe from Apothecary Emporium, Brown Texture Sticker Paper
Stamp: Mark's Finest Papers Sentiment from Country Thanksgiving
Versamark ink and Ranger EP Pearl Copper
Distress Inks: Ranger Crushed Olive, Wld Honey, Brushed Corduroy

Challenges:
Scrapping Cottage Blog: Create with a frame. Used Cottage Cutz dies mentioned above.
Crafty Catz: Anything Goes.
Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge: Fall or winter theme. Fall theme used with Country Thanksgiving Sentiment.
Our Creative Corner: Masculine card. Made for my husband.
Craft Your Passion:  ANYTHING GOES + BROWN
Kaboodle Doodle Challenge: Colors of fall.
Lollipop Crafts: Thanksgiving / Fall
Bearly-Mine Challenge:  One for the Boyz...for my DH.

I enjoy all your comments. Thank you. Theresa

Halloween with a Twist

Front of Card
Sugar Creek Hollow is having a HALLOWEEN WITH A TWIST challenge. Plumrose Lane, their sponsor, is providing a wonderful freebie that we must use to make your vintage, shabby chic or primitive challenge entry. The freebie is a collage sheet of fabulous Halloween images along with an instant card and envelope. Collage sheet is shown below. Check out all the details at Sugar Creek Hollow and get the freebie.
Z Card Open
For my entry, I made a Z Card using an orange card base matted entirely with yellow CS embossed with a new Cuttlebug EF Polka dots. Edges of card were distressed with scissors and also distressed with Black and Wild Honey Distressed Inks. I cut out elements from the collage sheet and arranged on the card. Tags were added with purple twine and shiny orange brads. Tied some orange twine to the Owl's Hat. Sentiment was cut with Cottage Cutz Die from "Haunted House Border" .  The elements from the collage have a very Vintage look which is what I tried to create with my design and colors.

Challenges:
Sugar Creek Hollow: Halloween with a Twist.
Truly Scrumptious: Distressing
Simon Says: Halloween or Goth
Lollipop: Critters - have owls, bats and a cat.
THTSB DCC1012: Halloween /Fall challenge

Spooky Ghost at a Haunted House

Front of Card Closed

Easel Card fully opened

Easel card with Ghost
This card was made with the Cottage Cutz "Haunted House Border" Die that I won from The Scrapping Cottage and I am entering into their new challenge to make a card with any type of Motion. My easel card has a ghost that flies across the sky when you pull out the slider. The haunted house and sentiments were cut from Black CS with the die and backed with yellow CS and placed on a Spooky Tree Pattern Paper from Echo Park Apothecary Emporium. I added some confetti bats for more spookiness. I cut out the path for the slider and added the ghost that was trimmed from Flair Designs Spellbound Collections design paper which I backed with Black CS to make studier. The inside was decorated with Black and Yellow CS mats ....punched the edge of the yellow mat with Martha Stewart Drippy Goo punch. Added the punched out sentiments and more confetti bats, spiders, and witches. The ribbon from my Halloween stash acts as a stop for the easel card when opened.
Challenges:
Scrapping Cottage Blog Challenge: Make a card with Motion
Anything Goes Challenge: Anything Go
Simon Says: Anything Goes
Saturday Challenge Secret Crafters: Halloween

Another Post for Another Challenge

I recently came across a challenge at the Scrapping Cottage  to create a card, layout, or any type of project following the sketch shown below and using Cottage Cutz dies!  I decided I could do this using a die that I had received from Scrapping Cottage a couple years ago. This Cottage Cutz Dove die was perfect to make a card to send for Rosh Hashana greetings which is the end of September.

I simply cut the dove from glossy white CS and shaded a bit with copics and colored the olive branch green. Using a card base of White CS, I layered a mat of Navy CS that I punched with a border using Martha Stewart Floral Lace and added a strip of Metallic Silver under the punched edge. I then punched a circle using Nestie Dieout of the Navy layer and attached to the card base. I sponged the open circle with Memento Summer Sky ink. I attached the Dove with pop ups over the open circle. Finished with an unknown stamp "Shalom" that I embossed with Zing Silver EP.
