Love the Beach

Hello! I created this card for the Challenge at Can You Handle the Pressure? We are to use an embossing folder and the twist is the beach. I used a stamp called Sunset with Palms from Just for You.
I stamped the image on white CS with Memento Black Ink and colored with Copics  and Inks from Memento. I embossed the upper part of the panel with an EF Clouds from Darice. The scene just called for more clouds.  Did some ink blending on the sun and sky. They are 2 stamped clouds behind the palms which I did not like with black ink outlines, so I covered them with white Nuvo Crystal, and they blended better with the embossed clouds.  (Hard to see in the photo) Trimmed the image panel and outlined the edge with Black Copic marker instead of using a mat underneath.  Stamped the sentiment from GKD Gifts of the Sea set and finished with a white card base.

Summer at the Lake

Hello! This is my third post today.  Making up for missing several days of posting.  I made this card for a couple of challenges including Mod Squad and The House That Stamps Built.  I created this scenic slim card with Repeat Impressions Stamps using 2 shoreline stamps and one of a canoer that I think I have never used before.  After stamping the shoreline with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, I colored the trees and lake with copics and sponged the sky with clouds using Memento Summer Sky ink. Stamping the Canoer with Memento Gray ink was an afterthought but I liked the outcome.  I colored the image with more of my Copics. After  trimming the scene, I attached the panel to a tan mat that I embossed with a Forest Branches EF and finished with a Dark Brown card base.
Challenges:
Mod Squad Challenge: Make a Slimline card with a scene. Card is 3.5 x 7.5"
The House That Stamps Built: Anything Goes Challenge JL220. Used Repeat Impressions Stamps
Use Your Stuff: #401 Summer Fun.
The Male Room: Challenge#140 Sport.  Rowing a Canoe is the sport featured on my card.

I colored the Rainbow with Copics after printing on White cardstock.  Stamped the Sentiment and Sun image with Laurel Burch stamps from Stampendous that I had never used. Added some texture to the clouds with a Snow Marker. Card base is GKD Blue CS.

Flight Across Africa

Hello!  I had fun with the latest challenge at The Library Challenge which features the book Five Weeks in a Balloon.  I was not familiar with the story but did some research and learned it was about
"a scholar and explorer, Dr. Samuel Fergusson, accompanied by his manservant Joe and his friend professional hunter Richard "Dick" Kennedy, who set out to explore and travel across the African continent  in a balloon."   I took inspiration from the colors and layout of the cover but added reference to the story by including a map of their travel in Africa.
Supplies used:  Balloon stamp from Repeat Impressions; Memento Toffee Crunch Ink;   Copics for coloring; Distress Oxide Ink Broken China for Water Coloring the Sky; Cloud EF from Darice; Explore sticker from stash;  Aqua and White Card Stock; Map printed from Internet; Foam.

Challenges:
CRAFT Challenge: #520 Inspired by a Film.  There was also a film "Five Weeks in a Balloon" directed by Irwin Allen and starring Red Buttons, Fabian, Barbara Eden, Sir Cedric Hardwicke, Peter Lorre, Richard Haydn, Barbara Luna

Using Up My Unused Items

Hello!  This weekend, I challenged myself to make some cards using up some of the unused items collecting on my worktable....for example items that I die cut or colored and never made into a finished card or backgrounds that I had leftover and stored in my leftover box (or boxes in my case).  I have enough of these bits and pieces to make a ton of cards.
I began with a leftover from a background made by  water coloring splashing with Distress Oxide inks on watercolor paper.  I tore a section of this and attached to a Blue card base embossed with clouds and glued on flowers die cut from scraps of paper.  I die cut the flowers and butterflies  with a new die cut set (prize from Double D Challenge).  Finished with a simple sentiment from Annabelle stamps.
Challenges:
Happy Little Stampers: August Anything Goes with Dies Challenge
Cards In Envy: Something New Card Challenge-used new dies. Card is flat enough to fit into envelope.

I made this photo on the left before I remembered the butterflies. Have a great day! I love reading your comments. Theresa

Dreaming of You

Hello! This one layer card was made using stamps and dies from Hero Arts August Kit.  I stamped the girl in flight and cloud with Memento Tuxedo Black and heat embossed with Clear EP.  I cut masks for the girl and cloud with dies.  I also cut a mask with an oval die.  Using the masks I sponged Distress Ink Faded Jeans and added "stars" with Pilot Metallic Silver marker. Finished with the Hero Arts sentiment in the same black ink.   The card below was my first attempt at this design but I messed it up when I misted with Metallic Blueberry mist and the mist leaked under the mask and went beyond the oval.  I saved the image by cutting an oval window in a card base of White CS and attached the image under the opening.

Challenges:
AAA  Cards: CAS Game #97 Masking
Happy Little Stampers: Anything Goes with Dies

Counting Sheep

Welcome!  I just had to make a card with the cute Sheep stamp and die in the August Hero Arts kit.  I made a Sky background inking a white CS panel with Distress Oxide Ink Faded Jeans and misted it with Metallic Blueberry Mist and Gold Shimmer Mist (from kit) and added dots and stars with a Pilot Metallic Silver marker. I stamped the sentiment Dreaming of You with Versamark and heat embossed with Wow Silver EP. Stamped clouds on Vellum and heat embossed with White Puff EP and die cut.  Stamped the 5 Sheep on white CS with Black ink and die cut.  Attached them with pop-up Glue Dots to the background lauer. Attached to a Metallic (Mirror) Silver card base and finished with a single Star die cut from the same Metallic CS.

April Showers

Hello!  We are expecting April Showers later today so I decided to make a card using Wags 'n Whiskers Love You Sis stamp with a rain theme.   I only used the upper portion of the stamp featuring the umbrella.  After stamping in Memento Tuxedo Black I colored the image with Copics  and added some Glossy Accents to the umbrella.  I pulled my colors  and layout from the Fusion challenge shown below. My clouds were cut on the Cameo with a Silhouette file and I used a Spellbinders Circle die for the image.  I used a "cloudy" blue CS for the background and white CS for the base.  The Raindrops are Cloud9 Design Rain Dots.

Challenges:
Fusion Card Challenge: April Showers. I used both the photo and sketch.
Addicted to CAS: Challenge #86 Code word is Rain
Retro Rubber Challenge: #36 April Showers. I know this stamp goes back to about 2010.
Double D Challenge: April Showers Bring May Flowers
Mod Squad Challenge: Water, water everywhere!  I have raindrops on my card.

Christmas Houses with Wishes

Second post today:
Good Morning!  Happy Sunday to you!  I have been playing with my Cameo to create these houses for a card for the Challenge at Merry Monday.  Instead of using about 6 different colors of cardstock, I cut the designs from white CS and colored the elements with Copics.  The hard part of this design was getting all those windows punched out. I had to touch up some of the panes with markers. I tore white card stock strips to make the  snow banks around the houses and cut puffy clouds for the sky to add to the blue card base.  I added a punch out sentiment with gold foil accents from a Christmas card kit. Silhouette Files: Christmas Houses by Kate Cutables
                                  Clouds by Lori Whitlock
