Circle Gatefold Card

Front of Card (Closed)
Inside Card (Open)

Hello! I have never made a circle gateway card …  always made them rectangle.  But I decided why not Round?   I used Simon Says Stamp Modern Flowers Card Wrap die to cut the "Gate" element from Pink CS.  (Not the way this die was designed to be used).  I cut the inside of the card using White CS with Stitched Circle die by Lawn Fawn.  Working out the folds before cutting was the tricky part.  On the inside of round card, I  stamped the Floral image from Gina K set You Make Me Smile with Versamark and heat embossed with White EP.  I water colored the image with a water brush and Distress Oxide Inks Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry, and  Peeled Paint. I used sentiments from the stamp set for the outside and inside stamped in the Peeled Paint. Used label die for the front tab.

Challenges:
ModSquad Challenge: Getting In Shape-Create a shape.   Used circle as my shape.
Happy Little Stampers: August Watercolor Challenge Anything Goes Optional Twist Flowers
Make My Monday Challenge: #76 Colored Image
Die Cuttin' Divas: Challenge 380 Anything Goes.  Used Simon Says and Lawn Fawn Dies. #2 Entry

Summer Fun Gate Fold Card

Hello! A fun summer event is going to the beach and collecting seashells,  This card is a bit different from my usual style but I was trying to convey a feel of summer and the beach using bright tropical colors on this Gate Fold card.  I came across this GKD Washi Tape (won in a GKD grab bag) and thought the colors were great with the Blue textured CS from my stash.
I used stamps from GKD Gifts of the Sea by Melanie for the shell and sentiment.  I trimmed the shell after stamping and  raised up the center with a bit of foam for dimension.  I used a real shell to hold the card closed.
Other supplies: GKD Soft Sand and Tomato Soup CS,  Memento Toffee Crunch ink, Versamark, Copper EP, Circle Die Foam Dots.

Challenges:

Spring Birthday

Hello! Thanks for stopping by.  Today I am thinking of cards for spring not winter and snowflakes.  This is a Gatefold card that I made for the Day 7 challenge at Stamp TV but I thought I'd enter some other challenges as well.

This card was inspired by the colors and flowers in the  pattern paper.  For the gatefold design, I used GKD Pattern paper from Berries & Vines with White and Grass Green CS. Stamps are GKD's A Year of Flowers and Inside and Out.  I used White Puff EP to add some texture to the Daisy.  I finished with a Red Satin ribbon to keep closed.

Bears Building a Snowman

Today I am playing with LOTV's stamp of Bears with a Snowman stamped on white CS with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copics N 0,2,4, C00, B0000, YG67,G05.  I sponged the sky with Memento Summer Sky and added snow with Liquid Pearls and Frosted Lace Stickles. The image was cut with a circle die and matted on a Red Circle.  I decided to make this a gatefold card and used the sketch from Sketch Saturday. I used White CS for the card base and added panels of patterns from Pebbles Welcome Christmas paper pad.  I stamped, colored and cut out a tree to hold the card shut. This was attached with pop up dots. I finished the inside with a sentiment from Heartfelt Collection stamped in Memento Lady Bug ink and more circles.

Inspired by my Husband

A few days ago, my husband gave me a beautiful Hallmark card for Sweetest Day.  When he selects a card he is always thinking if the card will give me ideas for my cardmaking. And his card (phhoto at end of post) inspired me to make this one  with butterfly dies and angel wing dies and heat embossing. I love the final results. I used a plum CS measuring 51/2 " X 11 3/4" to create the folded sides and used wing dies to cut into the folded edges so the wings extended beyond the folds. Then I attached Gold Metallic butterflies cut and embossed with dies to the extended wing cut outs . Stamped the sentiments with Versamark and heat embossed with Gold EP.   Finished the inside with stamped verses on gold parchment.

Supplies:
Dies: Cheery Lynn Exotic Butterflies 2 and Angel Wing Dies
Stamps: Paper and Such Butterfly set
Ink: Versamark
EP: Ranger Gold
Paper: Plum CS from stash, Gold Parchment
Adhesive Paper Lace: K&Company
Gold Marker (Colored Lace)

Hallmark Card from my Husband

Spooky Halloween

I love to make Halloween cards and decided to make a gatefold card using this week's sketch from Card Positioning Systems with a Halloween Theme. I cut orange CS with Spellbinders Beaded circle die and sponged with Black ink. This I cut in half and attached to a Black CS base made into a gatefold card. Trimmed the sides with Halloween confetti and ribbon.Added twine for the tie closure wrapped around a bat brad. Attached computer sentiment that I sponged with black.

Finished the inside with an Owl stamped with Versamark and Black EP. Then sponged on assorted inks to create the night sky with a full moon. Used a Yellow CS mat under image and finished sides with more orange CS, ribbon, confetti and sentiment.

Gate Fold Card with Scraps

Linda 's Blast from the Past Challenge this week was to make a gate fold ...and the "twist" - to use only scraps! (with exception of your card base.) I decided to use  the layout from Card Positioning Systems and made my card 5.5" wide by 4.25" high..
I used a white base card and mats of white under the scraps from K&Co in a brown damask pattern and a brown with a pink flower design. I like these 2 patterns together. To carry out the colors, I stamped a script background in brown and layered on a green mat, another scrap for the center of card. I used a flower stamp that I inked in pink and green and cut out the image edging it in brown ink. Layered this on the script and assembled the card. Finished with a crepe paper flower that is easy to do. (See Video on Selma's Blog here.)  Flower is held together with a brad. Used a piece of Velcro (another scrap) to hold card close...easy to open. Finished with sentiment shown in photo.
