Lego Birthday

 

 Hello!  Today I am sharing a fun Birthday Card that I made for my great-nephew who is a Wiz building with Legos.  Using Silhouette files with my Cameo to print and cut images and number, the digital papers purchased from Etsy store, and Photoshop Elements I created this project.  I even used a hole punch to create dots that I glued on the Lego blocks in the paper to create some dimension and texture. I also used Glossy Accents on the image for some shine and popped it up with foam tape.  I downloaded a special Lego Font for the sentiment and verse inside.

'57 Chevy

Hello! I am having fun making cards with cars as my focus...a perfect theme for cards for Father's Day. I think I will share this with my 90 year old uncle who has a love of great cars. I am posting this Father's Day card using the sketch of a Chevy from Digi Sketch Challenge and a digital image from Doodle Pantry. I used a pre-color digi  that made this an easy card to create.

Vintage Christmas Ornament

Welcome! I hope you are enjoying a great weekend.  I was amazed how quickly that I made this card using a digital image, sentiment and paper all from Doodle Pantry Vintage Ornament Collection.  I printed the already colored ornament along with the sentiment on white cardstock and trimmed to fit on a mat of the coordinating digi paper. I embossed it with Cuttlebug EF Argyle. There are several different ornament designs to choose.  I attached this to a green cardstock base. I added a little sparkle to the gold on the ornament with a metallic Jelli-pen and embellished with a metallic bow with matching colors. I love the way this turned out in just a few minutes.  This will be a great card to  produce in quantity.

Fight with Hope

Today I am using a Meljen's Digital image Hope Ribbon and a Pink Camo digital paper to create a card for Lee's challenge to show our strength in Pink Camo.  This is for this month's Splitcoaststampers Hope You Can Cling To campaign to support Breast Cancer Awareness.

Patriotic Bear

 

I love the Patriotic Bear from Meljens. He is a favorite of mine to use on My Hero Cards made for Operation Write home.  This one I made to enter in the Patriotism challenge at Meljens Designs. After printing the image on white cardstock, I colored it with  Copics B 21, 24, 29,  E 30, 31, 35, 36, Y 28, R 20, 24 and a Gold Glitter Jelli-ink pen. I added some shine with Clear Star Pen. I used SU Brilliant Blue CS for the base and mats and Doodle Pantry Stripe digi paper for the background which is embossed with Cuttlebug EF Divine  Swirls.  The sentiment from Verve  was stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Gold EP.

Also entering into Simon Says Patriotic challenge which ends very soon....but why not!

Let Freedom Ring

The challenge at Sassy Cheryl this week is  Red, White, & Blue with a Sassy Cheryl image, of course!   I have been wanting to use the Patience Secret Girl digi and thought she'd be perfect in RWB with this digi paper from Doodle Pantry.  I used a GKD Red Cardstock as the base, layered with  a GKD Navy mat topped with the pattern paper. After coloring the image with copics, I added to a navy mat and attached with foam strips to pop it out a bit. Finished with a red star brad.  I had to write in the sentiment that I wanted to use with a red pen.....I had a clear  stamp to use but I lost it on my work desk , not once but twice. No telling when it will turn up again and I did not have "patience" enough like Sassy to wait until I find it.

Patriotic Vintage Card

I hope your July 4 was a great day.  I spent part of the day making cards including some patriotic cards. This is one that I made for Sugar Creek Hollow vintage challenge to make a vintage or shabby chic card using only the colors of the flag of your country.  I may have included more than the Red, White, and Blue of the flag but liked this graphic for my card. The graphic that I used is from Magic Moonlight Studio and is matted on a digi star  paper from Doodle Pantry.  My base card is a gold cardstock from stash that I distressed with Wild Honey Distress Ink.  The sentiment is from Verve's American Hero stamp set. It was stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed with Red EP. Added a twist of gold wired Ombre ribbon to finish.

Celebrating the Red, White, and Blue

Hello!  There are so many challenges for using Red, White and Blue this week!  I made this card using some items from Doodle Pantry including a Star Digi and Digi Paper.  I printed the Digi from the Doodle Pantry US Star set already colored and added some gold ink to the stars in the center and cut out with a circle die. I layered this with pop up dots on to a Lacey Circle cut in textured Red Card Stock. I used a SU Brilliant Blue Card Base and used a mat of Doodle Pantry Stripes and Stars Digi Paper.  I added a strip of blue cardstock cut with MS Double Loop Punch and layered with White Satin Ribbon. Assembled the card following a sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches.  Attached another piece of ribbon to the star and layered ribbon. Finished with a Sentiment from Annabelle Stamps stamped in Memento Paris Dusk ink.

Summer Is Almost Here!

 Hello and welcome! I have been away from blogging and commenting for over a week because I have been with my Mother in Tennessee who has not been feeling well and I am headed back tomorrow for another stay.  I may not be able to visit my blogging friends for awhile.

I have taken time to make a quick card with this lovely new digi from Crafty Sentiments named Ice Cream Sunday Harriet that is a freebie here.  It is not in their store yet and I am not sure how long the free offer is, so hurry and check it out. Thanks to Crafty Sentiments for their freebie.

My card is made with the digi printed on white card stock and colored with assorted Copics and Pink Glaze Pen. I cut the image and pink mat  with Nesties Circle dies.  My card base is a Bright Yellow CS matted with a light Yellow mat and then a bright Pink mat and then layer of a digi pattern paper from GKD.  I assembled the card following a sketch from Sweet Sunday finishing with a Pink Satin Ribbon and a Repeat Impressions Sentiment stamped with Memento Rosebud ink.

Spots and Stripes

 

Welcome!    Today I am showing a one layer card made with stripes and dots that I printed from some digital paper files from Annabelle Stamps.  I simply printed a portion of the paper designs on the precut white card stock and embossed with the Cuttlebug EF Village Border showing the reverse of the border.  I stamped a Flourishes stamp in Memento Tuxedo Black.

 Hello. I am trying to get back in to a routine of blogging. One of my New Year resolution is to post cards earlier  and not rushing at the last minute to make a challenge deadline.  Can you believe I have 8  more days to post a card for Annabelle's challenge? I am usually rushing to get in during the last hour it closes. Winter Wonderland

 

One of my favorite winter stamps is this "Christmas Village" by PSX which I have used for many cards. This time I am using it as a simple black and white card using Versamark and Ranger black embossing powder on GKD white card stock with no coloring or embellishing.  I used a GKD white card base, a mat of digital Snowflake Pattern Paper from Dreamees, and a solid black mat directly under the image.  Looks like we are having more snow today.

Colour Challenge---Return to Card Making

Hello all! I hope you had a great holiday with family and friends. Things are getting back to a normal pace and I am trying to get back into a routine of making cards and blogging. I have missed these activities for the last few weeks and mostly have missed visiting with my friends in blogland.  To get back into the swing I have made a card to enter into Annabelle Stamps Challenge- to use colours of Chili, Lime, and Waterfall. I think  I matched up the colors well enough and used 2 free digis from Annabelle- the flower image and the sentiment.  I printed both on the Blue CS from stash and colored with Copics R24 and YG03. I added a red ribbon to this layer. I used a mat of Lime CS from stash that I embossed with Cuttlebug EF Stylized Flowers under the image. Attached this to a layer of Annabelle Digi Paper Chili Check and then to a White CS Base. Finished with a green rhinestone. I never printed a digi directly on colored cs and then colored directly on the color cs but I like the result of how the colors on the blue cs stayed a true color.

Second post today. This card is for Meljen's Sketch challenge shown on the left. I love this group of Caroling Snowmen and it is so fun to color...this time I did it in red and green to go with the papers I  had laying on my work table.  Added some snowflakes with embossing and liquid pearls. Cut out the Meljen's sentiment to finish.

Happy 5th Birthday Alex

Welcome! I forgot to share this card that I made for my great-nephew's 5th  birthday last week.  I always try to personalize childrens' cards and I thought using a picture of Alex would surprise him. I simply scanned a picture of him and placed his head on a digi image "Balloon Trevor" from C.C. Designs. I colored with Copics.I used a card base of white, red layers, and a layer of a digi plaid paper from Summer Driggs. Added some stripe ribbon and a 3D cut out balloon with string attached with pop up dots. The plaid layer was embossed with Cuttlebug Wicker Weave for texture. Love how cute his image turned out. I used Photoshop for editing the photo and combining the photo and image and also for the sentiment and printing the inside of his card.

Color Challenge at Annabelle

This week, the challenge at Annabelle Stamps is to use colors of mint, emerald, and rose. I just purchased digi papers from there that are perfect to use. I used a sketch from The Sweet Shop to create my card.  I cut the ornament from the top layer so the polka dot layer shows. I trimmed the "Ornament"with gems and ribbons.

Peaceful Cabin in the Woods

Hello! This is a card that I made for this month's challenge at Craft a Scene. The theme is Majestic Mountains. I am using a newly released stamp On The Fly  from Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co. I colored the image with Copics and placed on a Wood grain Background and card base of dark gray. Finished with some birds and a sentiment. I kept the design simple to highlight the image.  This would be a peaceful place to spend some down time with nature.

Vintage Thanksgiving

Vintage cards are great for Thanksgiving cards especially when I have a great image to use that does not need coloring.  I just aged this digital image from Create with TLC with some distress ink and a distress tool. My background is a Digital "Old Paper"" from Graphics Fairy which I also distressed with ink and a tool.  Finished with the sentiment and a wide wired ribbon with ombre colors that matched the colors in my card.  Does the corn image make you think of the first Thanksgiving?

Vintage Challenge at Speedy Fox and Friends

The Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge this week is to make a Vintage card.  For my DT inspiration card, I used a new stamp set called "I'm In Stitches"  soon to be released by Mark's Finest Papers, A Heinrich Co.   I love the stamp of the old Sewing Machine and was anxious to ink it up. I stamped it on White CS with Versamark and embossed with Black EP. I colored the metal parts with Silver Pens and then fancy cut the image...that was the hard part! Glad I have good scissors.  I used Brown CS as a base card, attached  a camel colored mat , and then a mat of Digi Paper "Old Paper" downloaded from Graphics Fairy. Before placing the PP mat,  I distressed the edges with a distressing tool and sponged with Distress ink and stamped the sentiment on the top  and the  tape measure across the bottom with Distress Ink. The dress forms were a part of the digi paper.

Personal note- I love this stamp set because it reminds me of sewing machines that my mother and grandmother used and a machine  (a collector item, I'm sure) my Aunt Julia gave me a few years before she died.  I decided to pull it out of  its case and share a picture.  The warranty  is dated August 1949.

Vintage Father's Day

Don't you love it when a card comes together so quickly and you love the results?  That's how I felt with this card for the challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow.  The challenge this week is to make vintage, shabby chic or primitive FATHER'S DAY cards.  I had a hard time deciding what to make but when I found some very old paper of Antique Maps by PSX Papers in my stash ..(very old paper, probably old enough to be considered vintage) ... I knew I had to use it. Then I remembered a couple of digital files that I saved from Graphics Fairy...a sailboat and a background paper with an "old" feel.  I printed the Boat, Digi Paper, and added some distress inks -Tea Dye and Antique Linen-and distressed edges to all the layers including the map that I cut with a Nesties circle die.  Assembled all elements on a card base of MFP's Tan CS with a sentiment, ribbon, brad, and bronze pin. The sentiment "For the Best Father in the World" was computer generated and cut with a Spellbinders label die. Thought this tied in well with the "worldliness" of my theme.
