Balloons for Valentine's Day

Hello!  Another tag today. When looking for an image to use for the tag challenge shown on right, I found this digital image of Cuthbert Bear (Polly Craft) with balloons and just had to make another tag with this cute image.  This one I made for Valentine's Day using stamps from Winnie and Walter.  After coloring Cuthbert with Copics I fussy cut him and attached to a tag of water colored paper smooshed with Distress Ink Stormy Sky.
Other supplies: White CS, Red Ribbon, Memento Lady Bug ink, Sizzix Border Punch, Glossy Accents.

Tag You're It!: Challenge #38 shown on right.  I was inspired by the layout and colors.

Fun with Hearts

Hello and welcome! This is my second post today.
Today I have another fun card that I created from playing with Nesties Scalloped Hearts.  The objective was to make a one layer card.  I simply cut some stencils from 3 sizes of the hearts ...laid the stencils one at a time on white cardstock and sponged with Distress Ink Spun Sugar.  This was a good exercise to practice sponging. To add some dimension I outlined part of each heart with a Memento  Rose Bud marker. It almost appears that the hearts were cut from pink paper and attached...but not!
I stamped the sentiments from Flourishes' From the Heart set in Rose Bud ink and added a narrow pink ribbon with scor-tape to finish.
Challenges:
Less Is More: One Layer Card with theme of  Hearts
Allsorts Challenge: Ribbon but no bows
One-Layer Simplicity: Challenge is restocking shelves....restocking Cards for Valentine
Really Reasonable Ribbon: Pink and Ribbon Theme

I enjoy all your comments. Thank you. Theresa

A Box of Chocolates

I am thinking of Valentine's Day which inspired this card made with a sketch from Sweet Sunday Challenge.  I stamped the Candy Box from Flourishes Love Sweet Love set. I fussy cut and colored with Copics E27,44,55, RV 11,21,23,Y 28,G82 and Atyou Spica Gold. Added some glossy Accents to the flowers on box.
I used Pink CS from stash for the card base and scraps for the layers.  The Polka Dot Pattern is from MME.  Embossing: Used Cuttlebug Swiss Dots on the pattern, Fiskars Texture Plate Hearts on the pink, and Cuttlebug EF With Love border on the gold.
As an afterthought, I added the hearts and ribbon laying on my desk that were leftovers from other projects.
Challenges:
Sweet Sunday: Sketch 201 Shown on left
Papertake Weekly: Anything Goes
The temperature is back in the 30's today. At least we had one day yesterday without freezing cold.
I enjoy all your comments. Thank you. Theresa

Wishes from the Heart

I seem to be into Valentine cards now. I made this card for some challenges including The Craft's Meow Monthly sketch challenge and Stamptacular challenge to use doilies. I began with a base card  of white, a layer of red that I embossed and then toppped that with a doily. I cut a lacey circle and stamped with Versamark and embossed with white ep and then wove a ribbon through the loops and tied off with a bow. To this I added a filigree heart charm and attached all to the center of the doily. I finished with a banner stamped with "Sweetheart".
Challenges:
The Craft's Meow Sketch Challenge: Sketch shown below.
Papertake Weekly: Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp: Use something new. Used new GKD red paper from Christmas order.
Charisma Cardz: Monochrome

From the Heart

Second post today.....trying to catch up with some challenges.
The challenge at Cheery Lynn- to use lace- inspired me to create a Valentine's Card.  I knew I wanted to use Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish Die...one of my most favorite dies. I cut the die twice from some white iridescent card stock. I found some red lace in my lace box that I have had forever from a challenge prize.  Trying to use up some of my stash. I cut 3 scalloped hearts using Nesties and GKD red card stock and layered with pop up dots. I used a white card base , then a layer of the red card stock, topped with an embossed textured white card stock using Cuttlebug EF Victoria...gives a romantic feel.  I edged this layer with the lovely red lace and arranged the flourishes and the stack of hearts. I finished with a banner stamped with Flourishes " From the Heart" that I free  cut. I may add some pearls to the heart but leaving card as is for this post.
Challenge link:
Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge: Lace (real or faux)
Tuesday Morning Sketches: Anything goes. No sketch this week which is unusual for this blog. I used more layers than I usually do, and liked stacking the hearts and letting the flourish float on the card rather than gluing it down.
Crafty Friends Challenge:  Add a splash of color to white

It is always fun to find forgotten items in your stash which are the perfect item for a card.
I enjoy all your comments. Thank you. Theresa

Treat Box for Valentine's Day

Hello. I have just returned from a trip to Tennessee to be with my Mother for her 92nd birthday.  We all had a great time visiting and celebrating.  She is full of life and in good health and keeps us laughing with tales of her life ....she remembers everyone she meets and knows everyone's history including everything about everyone's life.

I have rushed to get an entry in for Timeless Tuesday's challenge to make make anything but a card, something like a treat box or bag or even a tag.  Since the Flourishes January Stamp Sets release was waiting in the mail for me last night (I still cannot believe I won it in last week's challenge and that it arrived so quickly), I decided to use one of these beautiful sets. I chose "From the Heart" stamps to create a box that I will fill with candy for someone...wonder who???
Made my box with White CS for the lid and Red CS for the bottom. I added a border of hearts using an EK Border Punch from the Red CS. I stamped a flourish and sentiment on the lid with Memento Rhubarb Stalk. Used the same ink to stamp the lovely ornate heart and the banner and sentiment which is popped up on the heart. Attached this to a red scalloped heart cut out with a Spellbinder die and attached this to a band of Heart Ribbon from my stash.  Now to find some candy.

Challenges:
Timeless Tuesday #152: Heather asked us to make anything but a card, something like a treat box or bag or even a tag to hold some yummy Valentine candy or chocolates!
Cupcake Craft Challenge: All you need is love.
TSG 140: Love is in the air....use hearts and love in a project.

"Belle" of the Valentine Ball

Welcome! If you have visited here before, you know that I love Teddy Bears and making cards with them. I am sharing a new stamp "Belle" which I won from Repeat Impressions. Doesn't she look like one of my fave bears "Beddy" shown in the photo below? I just had to have the stamp when I saw it. I made this Valentine for the Sketch Challenge at Repeat Impressions. I stamped "Belle" and colored her with Copics and then stamped her again on Red Texture CS to paper piece her hat and coat. Also stamped, colored and cut  the flower to pop on to her hat. Added some glossy accents to the flowers and her heart buttons. The card pretty much speaks on it own.

Challenges:
What If? Wedneday: Sketch Challenge J112 (See below)
Our Creative Corner:  Use some kind of paper piecing on your card . In addition NO ribbon and only one embellishment is allowed. Used tear pearls and paper piecing. The stripe under the sentiment is paper not ribbon.

One-Layer Card with Heart

It has been so long since I did a One-Layer Card for a challenge! I was playing last night and decided to do one for Simplicity One-Layer Wednesday challenge  to use red and pink...and ONLY red and pink...on a white card base. Since I had this Scallop Heart die on my desk I used it to punch a template and just sponged some Ranger Distress Ink Barn Door and Spun Sugar on a White CS . Then I stamped the GKD Sentiment from "Fanciful Tags" at an angle on the side.  That was quick.

Challenge:
Simplicity: One-Layer 74 Red and Pink
I enjoy all your visits. Thank you. Theresa
