Down On the Farm on Sunday Afternoon

Welcome! When I saw the challenge at Craft a Scene  this month was Down On the Farm, I knew immediately the digi image that I wanted to use for an entry.  It is Country Path and was from Digi Doodle Shop that is no longer in business.  I have many of their digis and  just love this scene.  Using Photoshop Elements, I also added a digi from Paper Cupcakes called Sunday Afternoon of a girl walking with her duck.  This was a fun project and I like how it turned out.  I resized the scene, printed on white card stock, colored with copics and markers, silver metallic jelli-ink pen,and sponged the sky with Memento Summer Sky ink.  I drew the birds in by hand. I adhered the image to a tan colored mat to which I did some embossing and stamped the verse from Flourishes with Memento Rich Cocoa. I think the navy base card was the right finish.  I like to keep cards with scenes free of embellishments focusing on the scene and often do not use sentiments but liked how this verse fit with my card.

I enjoy all your comments. Thank you. Theresa

Winter Scene

It is still white with snow on this second day of the New Year. Welcome to another Winter Card. I had planned this card for Craft a Scene challenge but forgot  to post.  I have used this digi image from Digi Doodle before and almost colored it the same as the first time after printing on white card stock..  This time I added some birds and a fox for more interest in the foreground and background.  Used some embossing on the card base for texture. Love how your eye travels to the little cabin  with a touch of red in the background.  I will add this to my stash of Christmas cards for next year.

Old Boat on the Lake

I am kind of on a roll making cards with scenes but this will be the last one for awhile. I just had to create with this digi that I  purchased from Digi Doodle Shop. I am sad they are closing the shop as I love their designs. I wll be entering this in their last challenge.
I printed the image on X-Press It Paper and colored with more Copics that I have ever used in one card.  I was inspired in my coloring by some photos that my nephew made in Colorado. This was a lot of fun coloring.

You've Got Mail with a Touch of Vintage

Closeup of Sentiment

I made this card 5.5' x5.5" which is a larger size than I usually do but I wanted to better use the pattern paper design from K&Company.  I printed this image "You've Got Mail" from Digi Doodle Shop and colored with Copics. Love the old fashion Morning Glory vine and flowers by the mailbox which has a vintage used  look.  After cutting the design with Spellbinders Label 4,  I sponged it with Antique Linen and Tea Dye distress inks to give an aged look.  I placed on a small doily that I sponged the same. Placed this on a circle of gold CS to better show the design. Now back to this lovely pattern paper...think it has a great vintage look...I embossed it with Cuttlebug's Kassie's Brocade EF and the Border Dot  from With Love EF on the outer stripes in the paper. After placing the pattern on a card base of ivory (edged with the Antique Linen ink) I popped up the image with dimensionals and added a gold seam binding bow accented with a jeweled brad and small crochet flower.  The sentiment from Mark's Finest Papers "Happy Pansies" was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa on a strip of the PP and attached. Thought this font had a vintage flavor.
Challenges:
Sugar Creek HollowDo vintage, shabby chic, or primitive card with embossing. Someday, I am going to figure out how to do a primitive one. This week Digi Doodle is a sponsor.
Party Time Tuesday: Use a feathered friend on your card. Digi Doodle is also one of the sponsors.
Digi Doodle Shop's Best Challenge: Use embossing.  Is this what is meant by killing two birds with one stone?

I enjoy all your comments. Thank you. Theresa

Snow Scene for Craft a Scene

Welcome. I am back to winter time with this card creating a scene of newly fallen snow. I used the sketch from Sweet Sunday as my layout inspiration and used a new digital image that I acquired from Digi Doodle Shop. This was a fun image to color with Copics . Added some stickles for the snow and dimension. The Sentiment from Flourishes "Warm Winter Wishes" was stamped with SU Sage Shadow. I also was inspired to do this card for a new challenge blog  Craft a Scene that I learned about from my friend Olga.

Happy Christmas

A few weeks ago, I was lucky to win some  Digi Doodle  images and I am using "Christmas Ornaments", one of my wins, in this card. I colored the branch with copics and the ornaments with Metallic and Glitter Jelli-Ink pens to give some shine and sparkle. ( Hard to see...BIRL)  I distressed the edge with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Barn Door. Matted this on BasicGrey Jovial Pattern Paper. My Card base of GKD All Spruced Up was embossed with CB EF Polka dots and  and layered partly with another pattern from Jovial Paper Pad. Added branches made with EK Success punch and some Annabelle Red Sprinkles. Sentiment stamp is from a magazine insert from last year that I embossed with Red EP.

Challenges:
Digi Doodle Shop's Best: Sketch #82 Challenge on the left
Digital Tuesday Challenge: Theme is Christmas Time
Stamps Are Us: Our challenge theme is Bling It On. Red sparkles are my bling.

Thanks to my friend  Patti P for letting me know about Digi Doodle Shop's challenge and images.
I enjoy all your comments. Thank you. Theresa
