Birthday Pop Up Box

Hello!  I created this pop up box card for my Mother who celebrates her 98 birthday this month.  I used a variety of Silhouette files, die cuts, printed images, fussy cuts, clipart, chipboard numbers, and more to fill and decorate the box.  All papers including Yellow CS, Striped Pattern Paper, Glitter Paper, Gold Metallic CS, and White CS were from my stash.  Used Glossy Accents, Nail Heads , Gemstones,  and Stardust Pen to add accents.   This was a fun project to design and create.   The card does fold up and fit into a standard half card size envelope.

Challenges to enter:

The Paper Girls Challenge:  #143 Glitter. Used glitter paper for die cuts and word and stardust Pen which is hard to see.

That included pattern papers, die cuts, and self adhesive chipboard letters and flower.  I added a stamped verse from Repeat Impressions inside which is seen in the bottom photo.

Other supplies used:
Die: Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish
Ink: Memento Rose Bud
Paper: White and Pink Cardstock from stash

Challenges:
Joan's Touch:  Make a Twisted Easel card using any color, some patterned paper, and an item sold at Joan's Gardens. Cheery Lynn dies and Memento inks are sold at Joan's Gardens.

Scor-pal Challenge: More than one score with the theme Sunny and Bright.  I think my colors are bright and sunny even though I have no yellow. The twisted easel is made with more than one score.

Jacob's 2nd Birthday

Hello!  I have missed everyone while I was spending time with my Mother since I could not get online. I hope to catch up with everyone's blogs and projects and have time to leave some comments.  My Mother seems to be back to good health and back to her normal routine. It is amazing what she does at age 93! We were eating green beans, tomatoes, spinach and zucchini from her garden this past week.

Today I am posting a card that I made for my 2 year old great-nephew for his 2nd birthday last month.  I made this with a pattern from a Paper Crafts Magazine with Birthday Free Projects.  The card is the shape of  an elephant.  I used Gray Card stock, assorted scraps of  Card stock with Glitter, Chipboard Number 2, Black Brad, scraps of yarn, and Nesties Circle Die.  Inside I used text that was computer generated.

Challenges:
Clear It Out Challenge: Theme: Make someone's day! Stash: use something sparkly! Used sparkly paper on cap and blanket.  Everything I used for this card was from my stash.
Simon Says: Anything goes!
Papertake Weekly Challenge: Anything Goes with option to use animals/creatures.
CRAFTS AND ME: Anything goes
Cupcake Crafts Challenges: Anything But Square

I enjoy all your comments. Thank you. Theresa

Masculine Metallics

Cards with metallics are great for a masculine feel. Using the sketch challenge at The House That Stamps Built (shown below),  I made my card using a "Snowflake" from Repeat Impressions but not as a snowflake. I stamped it in versamark and embossed with Copper EP- the prism image takes on a great graphic design. I followed the sketch and made my own square embellishments using Nesties smallest square, chipboard, copper CS, Swiss Dot EF, and glue.

Challenges:
What If Wednesday: Repeat Impressions Sketch M3012
Oldie But Goodie: Anything Goes...stamp and papers are older than 6 months.

Other Supplies:
Stamps: Repeat Impressions "Snowflake Prism"
             GKD Sentiment
Ink: Versamark
EP: Zing Copper  and Ranger Black
Papers: Oyster Pearl Lustrous CS, Copper and Bronze Metallic Paper from Marco Paper, Black CS
MS Corner Punch , Nesties Dies

Distressing for a Male...on a card that is...

This is a card made for some masculine themed challenges. I was trying to use some items in my stash ...pulled out a sheet of die cut tags and a sheet of chipboard cutouts and began the card.
Followed a sketch challenge from Stamp, Scrap, & Doodle and this is what I came up with.  Stamped a train on one tag with distress ink and the sentiment on another and layered it on another tag and a chipboard cutout for the middle. For the bottom, I layered 2 chipboard pieces and aged with some ink. Distressed the card base, added a mat with distressed edges,  and added PP mat with distressing. Topped with rest of elements.

Challenges:
Sugar Creek Hollow: Make it masculine.
Stamp, Scrap & Doodle: Sketch on left
Crazy 4 Challenges: Make a male theme card.
I enjoy all your comments. Thank you. Theresa

Ornament for TMITA's Challenge.

I have not had much time for card making this week but did want to make a quick and simple ornament for a challenge.  At There's Magic in the Air, Carol challenged us to make a Christmas ornament keepsake for someone special in your life. It can be as fancy or simple as you like, any size, any color. I made this one by using a circle of chipboard and embossing with gold embossing powder. Cut a snowflake with a Sizzix die and covered with glitter. Printed a ticket from "Christmas Tickets" digital from Paper Cupcakes that I won from TMITA Challenge. Assembled together with dimensionals and added gold ribbon for hanging. How appropriate for today since it is snowing.

Challenges:
City Crafter Challenge: Create any project with some kind of image of snow on it.
Digital Tuesday: Theme is Baby, it's cold outside.

Hope you keeping warm if there is snow where you are.
Thanks for stopping by! Theresa

Grow Old With Me.....

Cooking It Up With Katie comes up with some great recipes....for cards that is, not food.  This week's recipe from Katie is:  Start with a Quote, Use some Chipboard, and Finish with a little Red. I also wanted to tie this in with inspiration from a song  title for Allsorts challenge and for challenge at Tuesday Throwdown.
I printed out the quote "Grow Old with Me" that I had downloaded at Sentimental Sundays from Raindrop Echo Designs. I cut this with an oval die and matted on gold CS cut with a scalloped oval. I used a chipboard cutout received in a blog candy.  I inked it with versamark and embossed with Gold EP. Guess I could have just colored with a Gold Pilot marker but thought I would get more sparkle this way.  Found the music sheet pattern paper in my stash that I have had forever...it was perfect to use as mat for my "musical" card. Attached "LOVE" with gold brad and added the metal heart of red ...my finish with a little red. Used a base card of oyster pearl from paper stash.
The song that I took for my inspiration: "Grow Old with Me" by John Lennon.

Challenges:
Cooking It Up with Katie: See Recipe Above
Tuesday Throwdown: Use chipboard on your project
Allsorts Challenge: Take Inspiration from a Song Title. John Lennon's "Grow Old With Me"

Another card to give DH for our Anniversary. Thanks for stopping by!
