Monochrome with Style

Hello! I have a very simple thank you card stamped with an old pumpkin stamp that I have had many years.  I think it is a PSX but it has no markings on the stamp.  I have always colored this image and this is the first time I stamped it and just let the stamp details show through in a monochromatic design.   I used SU Bravo Burgundy ink on Ivory CS for both the image and Gina K sentiment.  I placed on a card base in the same color tones.  Simple but elegant.

Up in the Air Birthday

Hello!  My card today was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches challenge 357 and the DCC103 challenge -It's Up in the Air-at The House That Stamps Built.  I used Repeat Impressions Hot Air Balloon stamps and  Vertical Birthday stamp with a panel of patterned paper from Paper House At the Vineyard pack.  I also used White CS, Memento Black and Summer Sky inks, SU Always Artichoke ink and Copics.

What's in Santa's Bag?

Hello! When I was searching for an idea for a Santa card, I found another Silhouette file that inspired to make this card.  After printing this Santa by Stinkin' Cute,  I simply cut him with an oval die and attached to a black CS oval and then to an old Pattern Paper from Webster Pages pad.  I am always trying to use up some of my pattern paper stash.  I just liked this pattern with Santa even though it does not scream Christmas.  Finished with a Tag (from stash) stamped with Hero Arts sentiment in SU Ruby Red and a Dark Red Card Base.  Think that is a dog in his bag but it could be a teddy bear which I prefer over a dog.

Tree of Scraps

Second Post

Welcome!  Playing again with scraps of Pattern Papers.  This time I created a tree of various sizes of triangles.  I arranged the papers on a White CS embossed with a Darice EF placed on a mat of Red CS and a White Card Base.  Finished with a star die cut from another scrap using Hero Arts die and a Hero Arts sentiment stamped in SU Ruby Red ink.

Christmas Card

Hello! Another quick Christmas card made with a new stamp that I won from Just For Fun stamps. I stamped the large Pine Bough 3 times with SU Always Artichoke ink on white CS...love the details in the stamp.  Added some Frosted Lace stickles to give an icy look.  Finished with a Sentiment in Memento Red ink and a plaid ribbon.  Used a GKD Green card base.

Non-Traditional Christmas Card

 

Another Christmas Card for my stash.  I used Gina K Stamps from Peace and Joy and Tiny Textures sets for this card.  I stamped twice--once with SU Lovey Lilac and once with SU Tempting Turquoise inks on white CS and then stamped the greetings with Versamark and heat embossed with Gold EP.  I added 2 strips of Gold Foil from Clearsnap using scor-tape.  I adhered this to a card base of Turquoise CS.  Quick and Simple.

Birthday Wishes

 

Welcome!  This is my second post of the day.  I was playing with the color challenge at Pals Paper Arts shown below and came up with this design.  I used Gina K Designs stamps from Wild Blossoms and Tiny Textures.  I stamped the "Splatter" with SU Sage Shadow ink and then used SU Regal Rose and Glorious Green inks for the blossom and verse.  I think the colors match up well enough for the challenge.   I used a coral card base and a minty green layer embossed with EF Bubbles.  I adhered the image after using a die cut and inked the edge with a Copic.

Recyling from a Catalog

 



Hello!  For the AAA Cards challenge we are to feature something that we've re-cycled on a CAS card.  I decided to use a Coldwater Creek catalog and cut some of the pages with a Memory Box die for my design.  I am showing the cover that I used to cut the flowers and I used another page for the stem of the flowers.  I stamped a GKD sentiment with SU Always Artichoke ink and edged the image layer with a green marker before adhering to a wine card base.

Sponging Birthday Wishes

Welcome!  I am not very good with color challenges but I like the challenge at Color Throwdown  and just had to give it a try.  I am not too fond of purple but it goes very well with the other chosen colors.  I was very inspired by the DT card by Lori  and I guess you would say I CASE'd it.  Hope she does not mind.   I sponged SU Lovely Lilac, Rose Red, Regal Rose, and Creamy Caramel  which seemed to match up close to the colors to use.   I used water color paper and was pleased with the outcome of the sponging and the subtle texture.  I stamped  GKD stamps from Wild Blossom set which I had been anxious to use. Inked with Memento Tuxedo Black and heat embossed with clear EP.

Color Throwdown: #401 Use dark pink, burgundy, pale peach and purple.
Just Us Girls Challenge: Trend Week #351 Sponging.  I sponged 4 colors on water color paper as background for silhouette stamping.

Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th of July!

 

I just had to make a card to share today for the 4th.   I got the idea for this card made by Jennifer for a challenge on Stamp TV.   I used the same GKD stamps from Tiny Textures set for the flag design as Jennifer but used Verve stamps for the image.  I gold embossed the Star and added some Star Sequins to the blue square.  I used SU Ruby Red and Brilliant Blue inks and SU Brilliant Blue CS and GKD Red and White CS.

Challenge:
 Just Add Ink: #3 challenge Just Add S.  I used stamps, stripes, stars, sequins.

Happy Day

Hello!  Today I have a Happy card, Happy Birthday that is! I thought this Patterned Paper from MME's paper pad was so cheerful with bright colored flowers and just right for a cheerful card.  I stamped Repeat Impression words with SU Really Rust ink and their Butterfly with SU Only Orange ink.  I filled in the butterfly with Copics Y06 and Y23.  I fussy cut some of the flowers from the pattern and popped up.  The Ivory card base was covered with an Orange Pattern Paper mat and then the image layer.  I finished with Clear star glitter on the flower centers.  I like how the Butterfly landed on the tip of the letter Y.

Country Rose of Summer

Welcome!  Today my card features Gina K Stamps from Old Country Roses and Tiny Textures.  I stamped the 3 step Rose design with SU Pixie Pink, Pink Passion, and Ruby Red on white CS.    I seldom use any SU inks ( and I have a bunch) but they were perfect for the rose. I then added the leaves from the same set and did the  3 step stamping with Memento New Sprout, Bamboo Leaves, and Olive Green inks.  I added some distressing using fun stamps from the Tiny Textures set with Distress Inks Tea Dye and Wild Honey.  I used GKD CS's for the base and mat.  To really dress up my card, I added Pink Satin Ribbon and some sequins from stash.  The sentiment that I chose from Country Roses is appropriate for many events or just for a card to send someone for the fun of it.

Rainbow Burst

Hello! What beautiful weather we are enjoying!  Today I have a card that I call Rainbow Burst, my variation of a Sunburst or Starburst Card.  I made with scraps of GKD Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, and Blue CS's plus other unknown purple and lavender scraps.  I arranged the rays on Green CS and on a card base of White CS.  The GKD sentiment from Stippled Nature  was stamped on a white CS Strip with Stampin Up Green Galore Ink. Embossing was done with Swiss Dots, Chevron, Gingham, and Wicker Weave EF's.

Note: Several years ago about 2010, my husband gifted me with a SU Color Caddy full of SU inks. He had purchased it along with other items from a friend who gave up card making and sold all her supplies.  I have never used some of the many inks including the Green Galore( never opened) which was the perfect green for this card and I just happened to find when searching for ink for this design.

Beachy Birthday

Hello!  I have challenged myself to use up more of the leftovers on my desk - such as part of a panel that I stenciled with Spellbinders Impressabilities Sea Scape made for this card posted this week.   It is kind of like using dinner leftovers to create another dish. (Last night I made Chicken Potpies from leftover Roasted Chicken).   I simply stamped what was left of the panel with a vertical Birthday sentiment from Repeat Impressions with SU Creamy Caramel ink....just happened to have left a blank area large enough.  I then edged the panel with a Copics marker to match and layered this on a Blue mat also edged with ink and attached to a White card base.  I also embossed the blue layer with the same Impressabilities that I used for stenciling. I hope you can see that.  So with very little effort, I have a second card from leftovers.

CAS for You

Hello!  Today I have a CAS card made for the challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches using both Colors and the Sketch this time.  I cut a panel of a Wisteria CS and embossed it with a Darice EF and edged it with SU Rose Red ink.  I stamped a Power Poppy sentiment with the same ink on a white Card Base. I used Heartfelt Creations Daisy Patch Dies to cut flowers from Bazzill  Berry Sensation CS and assembled the card adding some gemstones to the flowers.  I stayed very close to the sketch.  I love the color combo.
