Scary Card

 

Hello!  Playing with some of my Halloween stash to create a spooky card with a doily die, pattern paper, ribbon, and stamps plus some plastic confetti spiders.  Not sure why I decided to combine the orange doily with Frankenstien but this is what turned out.

Here Comes the Easter Bunny

 

Welcome!  I am back to more timely seasonal cards with one for Easter.  I made this one with Silhouette Cut files of a bunny and Happy Easter words and added some items from  my leftover box....part of a green Flourish cut out  and part of a green Doily cut with a Cheery Lynn die.  I arranged all on a card base of Bazzill blue CS to come up with a simple card.  Have you ever seen a Blue-eyed bunny?

Candy Canes and Corners

Hello!  Yes I am back to Christmas cards.  I have become addicted to some of the Christmas challenges and enjoy checking them out weekly.  This card combines 2 of the challenges using Candy Canes and decorative corners.   I had to use a digital image of  Candy Canes....no Christmas stamps here with me... and printed the sentiment on my computer using a Candy Cane Font which I downloaded for free.  I tied some Bakers Twine to the canes and added some above and below  the sentiment. The top corners were decorated with sections cut from  a red doily cut with a Cheery Lynn die which I had in a bag of leftovers.

Another Black, Silver, and Gold Creation

Some cards just do not come together without a lot of trial and error.  Such was this card for Merry Monday Christmas Challenge that I combined with the Sketch N Stash challenge and the Cheery Lynn Design Challenge to use Doilies.  Maybe that was just too much to combine but I think I did it.  I kept changing papers and embellishments and even the dies.  This was my finished project using some old black flocked pattern paper from DCWV to which I added some silver and gold embossing to add some more shine.  I am not going through all the steps in making this card as I think you can see in the photo.

Happy Happy Flower

 I am always looking for a new way to use supplies and I decided to use a doily die as a single large flower using pattern paper for my design.  Because of the size of the "flower" I made the card size 5" by 7".  Looked too crowded on a smaller size.  The die is Cheery Lynn's French Pastry Doily and I also used her Fanciful Flourish die, my very favorite die.  The card base is Bazzill light green textured cardstock, pattern paper is a scrap of K&Co, and dark green is GKD CS.  Used Cuttlebug EF Windowpane and Flourishes stamp with SU ink.

Blue Birds on Blue

 Welcome to my studio.  Today I have made a card using the sketch below for the challenge at Annabelle Stamps.  I have used a brilliant blue SU card stock for the card base. The white doily was cut with Cheery Lynn Doily Die French Pastry. I stamped the image from Annabelle Stamp Whimsy Flowers with Memento Espresso Truffle ink on a white circle cut with a Nesties die. I colored this with Copics B21,24,E07,25,34, G82,YG 63, and YR00 and sponged it with Memento Summer Sky ink. The sentiment is from the same stamp set and was embossed with white embossing powder.  I cut this with circle dies and rounded the ends.  I dry embossed the front of the card base with Cuttlebug EF Birds and Swirls and scored all 4 edges but this embossing does not show very well in my photo...can see it only on the upper edge.

Butterflies Bring Birthday Wishes

Welcome! I have not been posting any cards the last few days....too busy enjoying the sun and warmth of the islands.
I did take time to make a quick card using the sketch from Card Positioning Systems. This was very simple since I used items that I had already punched, stamped, and ready to use....just assembled together. Love the colors in the butterfly pattern.

Whimsical Christmas Tree with Butterflies

Back for another post...my third today. And then back to some chores. This is one of my more whimsical cards. I have never seen a Christmas tree with butterflies but I have seen trees covered with Monarch butterflies so why not do a gold tree with butterflies? I cut a doily out of Gold Metallic CS using Cheery Lynn's  English Tea Party Die and cut it into sections and layered them on textured Red CS to make the tree. I cut the butterflies from Red CS using Cheery Lynn's Small Exotic Butterfly Die and arranged them on the tree. I placed this on a card base of the Gold Metallic CS. Stamped "Joy" with Versamark and embossed with Ranger Gold EP.  Used a Flourishes stamp from "Paperwhites" set  Added some Martha Stewart Pearls colored with Copics   This was a simple card but I thought it came out elegant looking. Tag Challenge at Cheery Lynn's

 There's a new challenge in cyberland. The first weekly challenge is being held at the Cheery Lyn Designs blog. The challenge this week is to Make a Tag.  You must use at least one Cheery Lynn Die -one of the rules. Check details here.
The winner will be chosen based on merit by Cheery Lynn Designs and will receive a $20 coupon for shopping at the Cheery Lynn website. I sure would like to own more of her wonderful dies so I made a tag to enter. I used the French Pastry Doily that I cut from shiny Red CS and folded around my tag cut from a Sparkly White CS and embossed with snowflakes EF. Used a Flourishes stamp of winter mittens from "Warm Winter Wishes".  Finished on the back with "To" and "From" stamps from GKD. This would be a great one to win!

Serving Another Cup of Tea

Sometimes when I make a card that I like, I will make another similar one but different. This is another one that I made using the Paper Cupcake digital image called "Teacup with Roses". This time I printed the image and cut out with Nesties circle die.  I colored the cup and roses with Copics, markers, and pencils and did some creative inking and sponging on the edge. I placed the image on a doily for a vintage look and used a mat of lavender digital paper that I printed and embossed with Cuttlebug EF "Kassie's Brocade".  I then sanded the embossed surface to distress and bring out the design in white. Used a corner punch on top corners and added a sheer organdy ribbon with bow to finish. The base card is a shiny CS that loks very pretty under the lavender paper. Entering this for a second entry at Sugar Creek Hollow, where we are to create a vintage, shabby chic or primitive card featuring vintage tea pots and cups. Once I see the photo, I think this card cries out for pearls...will add some before mailing.

Rambling Roses for a Birthday

I love roses and they are always in bloom in June for my birthday so what makes a better card for June birthdays than Roses!  I love this rose stamp from Flourishes and use it often because it colors so beautifully with copics regardless of your experience with  that medium.
I made this card for a card swap that my Stamping club held this week. Later, I will try to share some of the lovely cards that were made for the exchange.

Card Patterns Challenge Done Easily

This was a very easy card to make because I used the fun paper from a pack by Nikki Sivils that I came across in my stash... must have been part of a blog candy. I was working on another card and looking for the right paper, but when I saw this sheet with the pennants, I immediately thought of  this week's Sketch 115 from Card Patterns. I started with a yellow doily cut with a Cheery Lynn die. Cut the circle from the pattern paper with the pennants and then added a strip of pennants cut from another sheet in the paper pack.  Stamped the sentiments from Flourishes "Birthday Pennants" set in Memento Potter's Clay. After I took photos, I decided to cut out some birds ( from the same paper pack) and added to the rope. Finished the back of card with two circles of white CS atttached at the top edge to create the inside of the card.

Showing above: the original card and to the right : With the birds. The hardest part of this card was removing the "chads" from the punched die.
The paper pack by Nikki Sivils is "My Friend Birdie". Used GKD Yellow CS.
No coloring, embossing, and not much stamping to make this cute card.

Flowers for You with Love

It has been too long since I did a challenge for Lili of the Valley, so I made this card to enter into their Ribbons and Bows Challenge.
Entered into these challenges:
Lili of the Valley: Use ribbons and bows.....added ribbon  to the bouquet bow and in the scalloped edge and above that edge. Double bow under the flower.
Cute Card Thursday: Use distressing. Distressed with ink on the scalloped circle, edge of mat and on the lace.
Delightful Challenge: Use flowers on your project. Flowers stamped in the image, in the DP, and added paper rose.
Wag 'n Whskers: Use circles. Circles in the DP and used circle die.
Stamptacular Sunday: This week's challenge is “PINK-a-Licious!” Used pink in flowers, ribbons, lace, and papers. Hope the bit of green in DP and leaves does not disqualify the card.

Layers with a Lot of Punch!

Silke created a sketch (shown below) for the challenge at Timeless Tuesday this week. What a fun sketch!  I used my doily and geo dies to create my card in lavenders and yellows and used one of my fave Flourishes set "A year in Flowers". Image was colored in Copics.

My Favorite Shade of Iris is Purple

I do not use purple in many projects but I made this card for Annabelle Stamps  Blog  color challenge to use Blue, Purple, and Cream. I used a Flourishes Iris Stamp on Cream CS that was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics. I cut the image with a Nesties circle die and placed on a blue doily mat that I cut with  a Cheery Lynn die. I used the same Blue CS for the base and matted that with a Purple mat embossed with Cuttlebug EF Swiss Dots and punched the corners with a Fiskars Lace Corner Punch. I attached the image slightly off centered just because I wanted to!
Added some lovely purple rhinestones for some bling.

Spring Flowers Served on a Doily

Dee's challenge at Flourishes Timeless Tuesday is 
Flowers, Flowers Everywhere!  I am down to the wire getting my entry in so this will be short and quick. Sorry for the photo but I tried a new location and it not quite right but do not have time to redo.
I stamped the Crocus image from Flourishes" A Year in Flowers Set 1" and colored with Copics. I cut the image and a purple mat with Nesties circle dies. I cut the doily from Bazzill Green CS with Cheery Lynn Designs die "English Tea Garden" for another mat. My Card Base is a shimmery white CS from my stash. I layered this with 2 mats of an unknown Patterned Paper of light purple. I assembled the card using a sketch from AllSorts Challenge and finished with the sentiment and bling of green pear shaped stones. All done!

Such a Pretty Doily

I bought some new products this weekend including this Doily Die "English Tea" by Cheery Lynn Designs. This I bought from a local store Cottage Stampers in Hartville, OH. I cut a doily from a patterned paper by K& CO. Isn't it lovely?  In the center, I placed a couple of die cut circles, one of pink and one of ivory.  I stamped a sentiment from Creative Visions "Thank You" Set using Memento Bamboo Leaves ink. I attached this to a green card base with a strip of pink CS embossed with Cuttlebug EF  Divine Swirls.  I used the sketch 113 from Sweet Sunday Challenge but flipped some of the elements. Finished with a large pink gem in the center, organza bow and 3 pink rhinestones.
