Christmas Wishes

Hello! Back with another Christmas card. I enjoy making Christmas cards all year long and it's fun to find so many Christmas challenges.  I was inspired by the Peace on Earth Challenge mood board when I saw the pastel colors and the tree decorated with Pink. I thought immediately of some Heartfelt Creations patterned paper in my stash and pulled it out to create this card.  Other Supplies: Pink and Blue Cardstock, Ribbon, Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Circle Die, Corner Punch, Printed Sentiment from Paper Pack, Blue, Pink, and Frosty Stickles for Sparkle on tree, flowers, and angel.

I do wish I could capture the sparkle of the stickles in my photo as it adds so much to the card in real life.

Nativity Scene

As Christmas quickly approaches, I am posting this card that I made with Heartfelt Christmas Collection using a scene of animals at the Nativity scene. For this card I used a card base of Blue, embossed with Cuttlebug EF Argyle, and added rhinestone for the star. The sentiment on the front is from Mark's Finest Papers  and the inside is stamped with a sentiment from Heartfelt Creations.  Inks are Memento and die cut is Nesties Blossom Die.

Sweet Moments for Joan

Welcome!  I was lucky enough to have won Joan's Gardens Challenge last week so I am back with an entry to her challenge this week is to use Black and White Only, use Christmas theme, use a Frame, and use a product sold at Joan's Gardens.  See details at www.atjoansgardens.com

I made a clean and simple card using a Cheery Lynn Doily as my frame cut with French Pastry Die. To the center I added a verse stamped with Heartfelt Creations Sweet Memories Stamp and Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  This was added to a layer of White Cardstock embossed with Cuttlebug EF Polka Dots trimmed with Black Satin Ribbon. All was attached to a card base of Black Cardstock. Finished with Black Crystals on the design.

Snow Season is Here

 

The first snow of the season fell yesterday and covered the ground and trees with winter white.  I spent some time  inside making some challenge cards.  For this one I used a Heartfelt Creations Sweet Memories stamp on white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and embossed with Cuttlebug EF Divine Swirl.  I like the way the swirls in the embossing  compliment the sentiment.  I used a corner punch on 2 corners and wrapped the top layer with some old black and white check ribbon.  I attached to a mat of black and to a card base of white.

Enjoy Sweet Moments

Morning!  I am happy to report that I have finished all 36 challenges for SCS Hope That You Can Cling To campaign and in all I will have mailed 40 cards to UT MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
Now I am turning my attention to other challenges and Christmas Cards. This clean and simple card was made for Joan's Gardens Challenge to use gold and white, an embossing folder, pearls and a product sold at Joan's Gardens.  My card was simply made with a white CS card base, layered with an embossed metallic gold CS mat, white satin and organdy ribbon, and topped with  circles die cut of gold and white papers stamped with a sentiment.  The stamp by Heartfelt Creations Sweet Memories was purchased from Joan's Gardens.  I enhanced the sentiment with tiny pearls. I used Cuttlebug EF Divine Swirls for embossing.

Purple and Green for Joan

 

Hello. Thanks for dropping in for a visit. Today my card is a bit out of my comfort zone but I was trying to follow Joan's lead in a card that she created this week for her challenge.....the layers are only glued down in the middle so the edges are not flat and the edges are loose. This week, Joan's Gardens Challenge was to make a card using purple and green, torn edges, layers, and a product sold at Joan's Gardens.  Leaving the edges of some layers not glued was my idea of copying the style of her card.  I began this project by gathering Purple Vellum Paper, light green Cardstock, a mottled pattern paper from Paper Pizazz, and a handmade paper with fibers that I have hoarded for a long time and have no idea from were that  came. I did not have a plan but just started playing with these papers to see what evolved. I made Vellum Flowers using Heartfelt Creations  Grandiflora Rose stamp set that I stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with White Pearl Translucent EP. I shaded the back of the flowers and the rose bud with Copics V17, BV08, and G05.  I fussy cut the flowers and shaped with my flower tools from Joan's Gardens.  I assembled the card with a card base of the pastel green cs, then a layer of the pattern that I tore all the edges using an artist brush to wet the area to tear.  The pattern paper ended up lost in the photo but shows IRL under the almost translucent handmade paper.  I tore several layers of the homemade paper in varying sizes and shapes. I attached all these layers to the center area of the base and added a flourish cut with Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish die, then the flower that I built and the rose bud.  I stamped the sentiment from Flourishes Anemones stamp set with Memento Grape Jelly ink. The smaller photo shows the card at a side angle.

Simple or Detailed?

 

Today I am posting my entry for Joan's Gardens Challenge.  She was rather easy on us this week. We are to make a choice of a simple or more detailed card ( I did both), use red or green, do paper piecing, and use a product from Joan's Gardens. Check out more at  www.atjoansgardens.com .
I began my card with a White Iridescent Cardstock ( in stash for a long time) which is great for a snow theme. I stamped the Snowman from Heartfelt Creations Melt Your Heart Precut stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and heat dried the image....ink takes awhile to dry on this paper so I took care not to smudge.  I stamped the sentiment from the same set in versamark and heat embossed with red embossing powder. This is a good paper to use for paper piecing. I colored the hat with gold and gray Copics....love the subdued look of the ink on the shiny paper.  I stamped the image on paper scraps of green (for the holly), red (for the bird), and stripe (for the scarf). I actually stamped the scarf 4 times to have the stripe in a different direction for each part of the scarf design.  After gluing my paper pieces to the snowman, I trimmed the image to fit on to a green mat (another scrap) and attached to Card base of GKD Red Cardstock. I then added Red Rhinestones to the holly, a Hero Arts Black Gem to the nose, and used black glaze pen on the mouth, eyes and orange glaze pen on the beak.
For a more detailed card, I added a Stripe Ribbon from Joann's and 3 snowflakes cut with a Cheery Lynn die from Build a Flower 1 with Rhinestone centers. Love this die for snowflakes! Which card do you prefer?  Of course the simple one (top) will be easier to mail.

White-tail Deer Passing by a Covered Bridge

When I saw the month long challenge at Craft a Scene,  I knew exactly what I wanted to do for my entry, but since I have not been in my my studio much the last few weeks, I am running late completing my card. The challenge is to use Realistic Forest Animals in a scene.  I stamped the White-Tail Doe and Fawn using a stamp from Repeat Impressions using Memento Espresso Truffle ink on white Cardstock. I masked the image and stamped a covered bridge in the background with a Heartfelt Creations stamp and stamped clouds with another Repeat Impressions Stamp. I colored the image with Copics and Sponged the Sky with Memento Summer Sky ink.  Added more grass across the bottom edge with a marker.  I trimmed the image and attached to a brown mat and then to a dotted digi paper scrap leftover.  This was placed on a my card base of Dark Brown.  This was a fun card to do.

Red, White, and Blue Color Challenge

This card was made for Cheery Lynn's color challenge of Red, White, and Blue I have used Cheery Lynn's Cathedral Lace Frame die in blue card stock on a white glossy card base. I added a rose in red using Heartfelt Creations Grandiflora stamps and die stamped in Memento Rhubarb Ink cut with their Blossom Dies. I added a butterfly cut with Cheery Lynn Exotic Butterfly die Small #2 and Angel Wing Small #2.  The papers are SU Brilliant Blue CS, Glossy White CS from stash and  SU pattern papers. The sentiment stamped with Versamark and embossed with White EP is from Mark's Finest Papers.

Fun Making Vellum Flower

Welcome to all who stop by. Today I am sharing  a card that I made for Joan's Garden Challenge. We are to make a flower using vellum, the colors Red, Black and White,a  die cut border,  a sentiment and also a product sold at Joan's Gardens.  The part that I like best on my card is the flower of vellum that I made with Heartfelt Creations Daisy Patch Diecuts and Cheery Lynn Build a Flower #1 that both came from Joan's Gardens.  I used the border in a non-traditional way on the diagonal (not on the edge) and actually used 2 borders. 

I used a sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches to create this card.

Autumn Has Arrived

There are a lot of challenges with Autumn / Fall  theme this week. A few days ago I saw a card made by Linda , a blogger friend who is a wonderful cardmaker,  that reminded me of a stamp that I bought several months ago and never used. I loved her card so much that I have CASE'd it...hope you don't mind, Linda. Here's her card.
I stamped the pumpkin from Heartfelt Creations "Rustic Autumn Wheel" with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on to GKD PL white CS and colored with copics. I sponged the sky with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. I matted the square image with GKD Chocolate Kiss CS. I used a card base of the same Brown CS and used a mat from BasicGrey Oliver ...a distressed dark rich Red Pattern Paper.
Finished with a sentiment from MFP's Give Thanks.

Birthday Card with Roses

One of the challenges that I look forward to each week is the one at Joan's Gardens. She has the most unique challenges. This week, she requires:
• Window Top Card ( an opening in the top of the card with the design on the inside) • Add three colors of flowers for the focal point. • A Birthday card

I combined this with other challenges. I found my inspiration from a patterned paper from Webster's Pages that I received from Joan's. I cut the window with Spellbinders Blossom die in the front of the card...layered the pattern over the ivory card base before cutting . Cut a frame of the ivory CS for the outside and inside of the opening. Made 3 roses of different colors using Heartfelt Creations Grandiflora Rose stamps. Shaped flowers and added some glitter and finished with glitter domes in centers. Cut branches with leaves and arranged these with roses on the inside of card. Finished outside with sentiment and some green rhinestones.

Happy Spring Bouquet

My thoughts seem to  be turning to spring. I chose this digital image, Wild Flower Bouquet,  from Paper Cupcakes to use on my card.  Printed image and colored with Copics. Also added some glitter but does not show in photo.  Matted image on blue. Base card of white is matted with blue CS and a printed paper cut with a die. Added some punched flowers colored with copics with crystal centers, pink ribbon and blue crystal heart. Sentiment says Happy Spring. Arranged all the elements following a sketch fromWags 'n Whiskers challenge.

Tag, You Are It!

I don't make many tags but my DH bought a shirt that had the best hang tag on the button of the shirt and of course I took it to recycle. It was what I used to make the tag pictured. The brown tag is as thick as chip board or grunge board and is beautifully embossed ( hope you can see it) and had a great ribbon that I left attached.  I had this flower leftover from another project that I had already stamped, colored with Copics ,and cut out.  It was the perfect size to cover the printed name of the manufactureron the tag. Added some glitter (which does not show) with Atyou Spica Gold pen.  Stamped birthday sentiment and cut out with a die and threaded the ribbon through that. Finished with some Latte Pearls.

May Your Day Be Fabulous

Good Monday Morning! Hope everyone enjoyed the Super Bowl if you are a football or advertising fan. Am sure all the Packers fans are happy!!!
My card today was made for Speedy the Cat's Friends challenge.
Sorry the color is a bit off. The card base is kraft  (embossed with Cuttlebug EF Herringbone)  with layers of SU marigold (?), Bazzill cocoa, and another SU marigold. Made the flower using Heartfelt Creations Posy Patch stamps with Memento Rich Cocoa ink. Cut and shaped the 4 layers of the flower and used Atyou Spica Gold pen in center (BIRL).  Sentiment and Bee stamps are Mark's Finest Papers set "Happy Pansies". Finished with a scrap of ribbon from Jo-ann's. Used sketch from Waltzingmouse Challenge.  Love their sketches but do not use often enough.

Even though I have removed the snow background and the falling snow from my blog, we still have snow and I am still making snowmen cards. I stamped this with black ink and colored with Copics ...made his solid scarf a plaid one. I entered this in the following challenges:

First Birthday Card of the New Year

Welcome to my first birthday card post of 2011. I made this card and matching box using some new stamps that I received for Christmas. The new stamps are Heartfelt Creations HCPC2262 Grandiflora Rose and HCPC3319 Stems. For the card,  I stamped 3 roses of varying sizes using Versamark on GKD Lipstick Red CS and heat embossed with Clear EP. I cut these out with Nesties Blossom Dies that I have had for awhile but never used. I shaped the flowers and layered together using scor-tape. Added some glitter around the petals using Sakura Glitter pen. I stamped the leaves on green CS scraps also using Versamark and Clear EP. Cut these out and attached to the rose. I stamped the Birthday sentiment from GKD Fanciful Tags by Nina using Memento Rhubarb Stalk and SU Handsome Hunter inks. Cut this out with Spellbinder Fancy Tags but trimmed off the fancy ends. Assembled the card following Annabelle Sketch Challenge ABSC033 for January. Used GKD PL Ivory and Lipstick Red CS and Basic Grey Jovial Patterned paper for layers. Attached the rose and sentiment and finished with Green Rhinestone Bling. Love how this came together...can you tell the patterned paper was really designed as a Christmas paper?  But love how the colors look together.
I created the box from white and beige CS and made the rose same as one on the card.

Pocketful of Posies... Daisies, That Is, for Joan's 25th Challenge

Joan is nice enought to let us also do a second card to enter into the challenge for her Grand Prize of Heartfelt Creations Products valued at $284.

I made this card with the Heartfelt Creations Jean Pocket amd Daisy Patch Flowers stamps. I stamped the pocket on a textured white cs with Memento Paris Dusk and cut it out. Sponged and distressed it and  added some brads on the corners. Stamped the bouquet and individual flowers with Memento Rich Cocoa and colored with copics. Cut these out, shaped the petals, and layered. Added beads to the centers...this took tooooo long. Assembled together on a patterned paper, mat of pumpkin spice and green card base.
