Walking In the Rain

Welcome!  My card today was inspired by all the rain that we have had in April and that saying -April Showers Bring May Flowers.  I have used this rubber stamp from Wags 'n Whiskers Love You Sis  for many cards since 2011.  I pulled it out again to pair with this digital pattern paper from Paper Crafter Magazine that I found in one of my digital files. I stamped the image on white cardstock with black ink and colored with Copics. The hard part was fussy cutting the Two Sisters which I did carefully.  I popped them up with foam on the colorful pattern paper and attached the sentiment that I printed on vellum using vellum tape.  I colored a stem of flowers after stamping and die cutting with Hero Arts stamp and die and then attached the flowers to the card.  I imagined that they-the sisters- had stopped and picked some flowers on their walk in the rain.
This stamp has been on of favorites for years because it always reminds me of times with my younger sister.  I will mail this to her.....she has had a lot of rain this month in Tennessee.  Hope it brings her a smile!

Walking in the Rain

Hello! We have had so much rain this month and also snow.  I decided to make a card with a rainy theme.  I found this digital image from Sparkle and Sprinkle in my files and teamed it up with a digital sentiment from Piece of Heart.  After printing both on a white card stock, I colored the image with Copics.  I decided that I wanted to show a shower of flowers rather than raindrops so I added small die cut flowers (leftovers from a frame die cut).  Used a bright yellow card base.
Thought of my sister when I made this card.....she too has had a lot of rainy days this month in Tennessee.  Guess this is my way to share a walk with her.

April Showers

Hello!  We are expecting April Showers later today so I decided to make a card using Wags 'n Whiskers Love You Sis stamp with a rain theme.   I only used the upper portion of the stamp featuring the umbrella.  After stamping in Memento Tuxedo Black I colored the image with Copics  and added some Glossy Accents to the umbrella.  I pulled my colors  and layout from the Fusion challenge shown below. My clouds were cut on the Cameo with a Silhouette file and I used a Spellbinders Circle die for the image.  I used a "cloudy" blue CS for the background and white CS for the base.  The Raindrops are Cloud9 Design Rain Dots.

Challenges:
Fusion Card Challenge: April Showers. I used both the photo and sketch.
Addicted to CAS: Challenge #86 Code word is Rain
Retro Rubber Challenge: #36 April Showers. I know this stamp goes back to about 2010.
Double D Challenge: April Showers Bring May Flowers
Mod Squad Challenge: Water, water everywhere!  I have raindrops on my card.

April Showers Bring May Flowers

Hello! The last few days have brought a lot of April Showers and the daffodils are opening.  This weather is great for playing in my studio and I made this card with a Darice EF and Flourishes stamp from A Year of Flowers.  I stamped the daffodils with Memento Espresso Truffle ink and colored with Copics.  I sponged the raindrops with Memento Summer Sky ink and to bring out the umbrella I added some Pattern Paper, colored the handle. Stamped the sentiment from Flourishes under the protection of the umbrella. I attached to a card base of blue from my stash.

Challenges:
Simon Wednesday Challenge: Simon says April Showers and/or Spring Flowers.
613 Avenue Create Challenge: #118 Anything Goes
Addicted to CAS: Code Word is Showers
