By The Sea

Hello! Welcome to my studio.  I decided to make a card with another Lighthouse stamp from my stash. This one is from Just for Fun, and I have had since 2010.  An Oldie but a Goodie.  I colored the image with Copics and a Blue inkpad for the sky. I trimmed the image with a stitched die by GKD and attached to a patterned paper scrap from Graphic 45 By the Sea pad. I attached this to a Navy card base that I embossed with a Cuttlebug Border EF and finished with another scrap from the same paper pad.

Bouquet of Flowers

My favorite cards to make are those that feature flowers, especially with stamps by Marcella Hawley of Power Poppy and also with stamps she designed for Flourishes.  I love this stamp from Countryside Bouquet Deluxe that I inked with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored using only 3 Copic markers-B21, Y13, and YG63.  I cut the image into 3 panels and created the card with a base of White CS and a layer of Graphics 45 pattern from Secret Garden pad. I finished with a Power Poppy Sentiment stamped on Clear Vellum with Versamark and embossed with WOW Yellow EP.  Copic YG63 was used to edge the panels and pattern layer...gives the look of layers but without additional papers and weight.
Challenge:
Power Poppy Power & Spark Challenge: You Pick 3 -Create something using only 3 markers. See link for complete details.  I used Blue (B21), Yellow (Y13), Green (YG63) from complementary Color families.  Not as easy as it may sound.

Delicate Dogwood

Hello!  I love Dogwood trees and enjoy their blossoms in spring.  I recently purchased this Impression Obsession and love the details of the stamped image. After stamping with Memento Espresso Truffle ink on White CS, I colored with Copics and was pleased with the delicate look of the colors. I added a sentiment from Penny Black's Friendship Flowers set using SU Always Artichoke ink. The pattern layer is from some old Graphics 45 and the Card base is Ivory CS. This design did not need any embellishments .....I like the clean and simple design which lets the Image shine.

Father's Day Twisted Easel Card

Hello!  My card today is for the challenge #16 at Joan's Touch to make a Twisted Easel card.
We are to use any color, some patterned paper, and an item sold at Joan's Gardens.  Since Father's Day is near, I decided to make a card for my DH using papers from Graphics 45 "A Ladies Diary" pad that was from Joan's Gardens. Ink: Memento Peanut Brittle
Paper: Ivory CS from stash, All Patterns - Graphics 45 from Joan's Gardens

You've Got Style

Hello!  Today's card is a bit vintage and a different type of fold for me. I created this pop out style for Joan's Touch Challenge #14 and tried to case her cards posted here.  I just cut and folded and taped until I got the look that I wanted....it was a bit of engineering in card making.
Joan required that we:
Use a die as an outline but not required
Use Black on the card
Add embellishments
Use a product sold at Joan's Garden.

Supplies Used:
Frame Die:Cheery Lynn Swedish Spring Oval (sold at Joan's Gardens)
Dies: Spellbinders Label 4
Papers: Graphics 45 A Ladies Diary paper pad(sold at Joan's Gardens) , Black and Ivory Card stock
Stamp: Mark's Finest Papers
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Embellishments: Black Pearls, Gem Stone, Liquid Pearls

Wild Roses for Spring

Welcome! Today I have been playing with a never used by me stamp set from Flourishes Wild Roses, one of their last releases.
I stamped the image with Memento Rich Cocoa on GKD White Card stock and colored with Copics R00,R11,R22, Y12, YR00, YG 93, YG95.  After trimming the edges I distressed with a distress tool and  sponged with Distress Ink Antique Linen.  I matted this on a layer of Pattern Paper from Graphics 45 Once Upon a Springtime.  I only have a couple sheets left from this collection. I used the same white Cardstock for the card base. I cut a small doily with Cheery Lynn Ambergris die from another Graphics 45 paper and cut it into 4 sections that I used for the corners of my card.  I finished with a pink ribbon bow and yellow glitter domes in the center of the flowers.

Challenges:
Joan's Touch: Challenge 7- Use pattern paper, a stamp and add some corners. Use a product from Joan's Gardens. The Graphics 45 pattern paper was from Joan's.  Newer Graphics 45 patterns are available as well as the Cheery Lynn Die.

Ladies Day

Hello and welcome!  Today my card is created with Pattern Papers from Graphics 45 and a stamped sentiment from my favorite stamp maker Flourishes.  I used a sketch from Sketch  Saturday, a new challenge to me.  I used 3 different patterns to layer and cut the images of 4 vintage ladies from one of the panels on another paper.  The image is placed on a layer of printed script.  I inked some of the edges with Memento Rich Cocoa marker.  I cut some flowers from one design and shaped the flowers with my flower making tools to give some depth.  With embossing folders, I also dry embossed 2 of the layers - one the floral pattern and one a stripe.   Love the colors in my card.

Lady in Red

Welcome!  Today I have used pattern paper as my focus and inspiration for this card.  I cut a panel from Graphics 45 "A Ladies Diary" and colored the dress with red copics and pencil to create a "Lady in Red". I layered this panel on a pattern paper from MME's Sweetest Thing pad adding red ribbon and  black gems and a red rhinestone to her hat. I used a black card stock as the base.  The Sentiment stamped in Memento Tuxedo black is from Flourishes set "Flowers for Jan".  It reads "People will walk in and out of your life but only a few FRIENDS will leave footprints in your heart."  What a lovely thought.
Challenges to enter:
Crafty Catz Challenge: Lady in red.
Craft Your Passion: Theme is Girly Girl
Clear It Out Challenge: Color challenge-Theme is reds and Stash you choose,  Used red for coloring, red ribbon and rhinestone from stash.

Peace and Quiet

Welcome!  Today I have a CASE card ...I have made this card similar to another one  that I made last year using the same Pattern Paper and similar colors.  I recreated this card for another challenge for this month's Splitcoaststampers Hope You Can Cling To campaign to support Breast Cancer Awareness.  The challenge is from Ardyth and is to make a card that's full of Peace & Quiet with no words on the front.  Read more here.  (HYCCT1311) When I read this challenge, I thought of the card that I made with the Kingfisher stamp which I used with the word Serenity because it looked so peaceful and quiet...perfect for Ardyth's challenge.

Stamp: La Blanche "Kingfisher"
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Memento Summer Sky
Copics: Too much in a hurry to list
Pens: White Gel , Black Glaze, Gray Pencil
Papers: White and Black CS from stash, GKD Fresh Asparagus CS, Graphics 45 Pattern from "Once Upon a Springtime"

Postcard with Fairies, Butterfly, and Flowers

The challenge at Anything Goes Challenge Blog this week is the theme ..."MAIL IT" (So anything to do with mailing ...postcards, letters, envelopes, pictures of stamps.)  I was working on another card and had this pattern paper which I love on my counter from Graphics 45 "Once Upon a Springtime"  and thought this would work great for a "Mail It" Card. Using the sketch from Sweet Sunday, I starting building the card with a coral card stock that I aged with Distress Ink, layered with a floral paper edged with green marker, added a strip of paper with fairies sitting on postmarks, added the postcard cut from one of the pattern papers.  I punched a butterfly with Martha Stewart punch and built a flower using Stampin Up punches and added some yellow Glitter domes to these.  I will add sentiment to outside or the inside when I use the card.

Challenges:
Sweet Sunday: Sketch 181 Shown above
Anything Goes Challenge Blog: Mail It theme... used postcard, stamp, postmarks..
Flutter By Wednesday:  Flowers! Just remember to have your butterfly or fairy on your creation. I have it all covered.

I enjoy all your comments. Thank you. Theresa
