Haunted Spooky House

Booo!  Today I am sharing a couple of Halloween cards that were made in the same way but with some minor changes.  I used a Just For Fun stamp Haunted House Silhouette that I just received (won in a challenge).  The house was stamped with black ink and embossed with Clear EP and then I sponged the background with Distressed Oxide inks Faded Blue Jeans, Peeled Paint,  and Black Soot using masks. The moon was sponged with Fossilized Amber.  I colored in the windows and door with Copics and added shine with a lacquer pen.  Added words cut with Cottage Cutz dies. The first card that I made, shown below,  was spritzed with Gold Shimmer mist but I used too much.  I added just a bit of the mist to the top card by spritzing on a paper towel and dabbing it on the card so I could control the amount.   Used Black textured card base on the second and Gray textured card base on the first.

Summer Fun

Hello!  There are several card challenges for summer-beach-sun fun.  I used an older stamp from Just For Fun in my collection to create this card. It is called Sunset with Palms.  I stamped it on white CS with Memento Espresso Truffle ink and colored with Copics and Distress Oxide inks using the photo below that I found online.   I covered the image with a smokey photo overlay transparency that  darkened the colors a bit. (See photo below.)  I cut a mat of white CS and placed that over the image and overlay and attached that to Coral card base.  The sentiment from GKD was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa ink directly on the mat.  Other supplies used: Versamark ink, White and Clear EP.  Dimensions of the finished card are 6.5" x5.25".  The transparent overlay gives a nice shine to the card in real life.

Christmas Card

Hello! Another quick Christmas card made with a new stamp that I won from Just For Fun stamps. I stamped the large Pine Bough 3 times with SU Always Artichoke ink on white CS...love the details in the stamp.  Added some Frosted Lace stickles to give an icy look.  Finished with a Sentiment in Memento Red ink and a plaid ribbon.  Used a GKD Green card base.

Another Lighthouse

Hello!  I have not seen many lighthouses in person but I enjoy the different shapes and designs.   I came across this Just For Fun Stamp when I was looking for a Lighthouse stamp and thought I'd use it for another card with this theme.  I won this stamp in 2010...nice to have a post on my blog to remind me of the date.   I tried to color in a way to make the bricks appear to be old.  Used some pattern paper from Graphic 45 pad, yellow CS for base, some red eyelets from stash. Cannot remember the last time I used eyelets on a card. The GKD Sentiment was heat embossed with red EP on clear vellum and cut with label die.  I also used a Spellbinder die for the image.

Sit Back and Enjoy the Beach

Critter Sketch has a challenge to make a card using the photo on the right for inspiration. I remembered this "Just for Fun" stamp that I won last year and thought it would be perfect for this challenge.....I cannot be more inspired that to stamp a beach scene at sunset after 6 weeks on an island.
I kind of experimented with this card using sponging and masking to get the look I wanted.  After stamping the image on white, I colored the trees and plants with Copics. I sponged colors on the sky, beach and ocean masking areas as I went. I then masked everything but the sun and sponged and colored until I got the effect shown. I sponged more color in the sky and clouds after I uncovered the sun. Thought the clouds and sky should reflect colors of the sunset. Trimmed the image and matted it on orange and attached to blue card base. Stamped sentiment from MFP's.

Time to Celebrate

I made this card but failed to post in time for the challenges' deadline for which I made it, but I found some other challenges to enter. Used a sketch from Tuesday AM sketches for the design. Used background that I made with a baby wipe that I had leftover from another challenge. Used GKD Ivory CS as base card and stamped randomly with a GKD stamp from "Candles for your Cake" by Melanie using Memento Green. Stamped a ivory circle with watch stamp from Just For Fun Stamps with Memento Rich Cocoa and matted on a green (from scraps)  circle.  Colored the watch with a new gold Copic pen and Atyou Spica pen that I received for Christmas.

Say It In Black and White

Say It in Black and White is a challenge at Annabelle Stamps blog. I stamped this lighthouse from Just for Fun Stamps in Memento Tuxedo Black on white CS, of course. I cut the image with Spellbinders Labels 4 die and then attached to a textured black mat embossed with CB EF Diamonds. I placed this on a base card of glossy white CS. I made the sentiment using stamps from GKD Fanciful Tags Stamp Set by Nina  and cut it out with Spellbinders Fancy Tags die. Finished with 2 Hero Arts Black Pearls for bling. This would be a good card to enter into a challenge "Make a Card with Something that I Won" since all the items that I used in this card were won by me except for the papers.  Hmmmm, maybe this give someone an idea?

As Time Goes....

I have had a pocket watch stamp for quite awhile and have never used it so...when I saw this challenge  at Cute Card Thursday-Tic Toc-to see our creations that have been inspired by a clock or time, I knew it was time to ink it up. We can use a sentiment, an image, a clock shape...whatever sparks the imagination. My card turned out to be kind of  in the vintage style which seems appropriate enough.  I printed my sentiment on the computer.  I layered everything askew just to be different.
