Coloring Vellum

Welcome!  This card was inspired by a video about coloring vellum from Jennifer McGuire seen here. I just had to try her tips and techniques.  I stamped Flowers and Leaves from Technique Tuesday Two Stepping set with versamark on clear vellum and heat embossed with white EP. I colored the backs of the images with Memento Markers Angel Pink, Rose Bud, Lilac Posies, Bamboo Leaves, New Sprout, Cantaloupe, and Dandelion. I fussy cut the flowers and leaves. I cut a banner with Cameo from pink vellum and white cardstock. I heat embossed W&W's Happy Birthday on the vellum and layered on the white banner.  Using a White CS Card Base,  I added  a layer of white embossed with Cuttlebug  EF Wicker Weave and arranged and attached  the banner, flowers and leaves with Vellum tape.  Love the lovely texture and colors on this card.

Second Card for Joan's Gardens Challenge

Added a Embossed Sentiment
Added a Bow

This is a second card for Joan's Gardens Challenge to make a card using Purple and Green, torn edges, layers and a product from Joan's Gardens.  I made this from items on my work station that I had left over from other projects and decided to make use of them in this card.  The flower was made when experimenting with vellum paper and embossing with gold embossing powder using Heartfelt Creations Grandiflora Rose stamp for an earlier card.  I layered 2 cutouts but found that the gold flecks off if you try to shape the flowers so I left it flatter for this creation. I added some Leaves cut from Green Vellum with Cheery Lynn Tropical Leaves die and some darker green flourishes that I were given by a friend and do not know the die used but think it was from Sizzix. I tore some K& CO Pattern Paper and embossed it with Darice EF Flower Frenzy for a layer on top of the card base of Purple Cardstock.  I added a layer of some mesh that I colored with a Copics V17.  As you see in the photos I played with different looks using an Embossed sentiment on one view and then used an Organza Bow for another variation. Products used that can be purchased at Joan's Gardens are Graffix Vellum Papers, Cheery Lynn Dies, Heartfelt Creations Stamps, and E6000 Adhesive.

I also made this for the Splitcoasterstampers challenge Many Colors of Cancer HYCTT08. I included purple to represent pancreatic cancer which seems to be one of the most deadly and aggressive cancers and added lavendar with the bow to represent All Cancers.

Thank You Card

I had decided that I would not make a card for Joan's Gardens Challenge this week but then I found some yellow tulle in my stash and decided I would give it a go.  The challenge is to make a card using 3 flowers out of vellum, use colors of golden yellow and violet , mesh or tulle, stencil on paper, and a product sold at Joan's.  I used clear vellum and colored it with Copics V09 and Y26 to cut flowers in violet and yellow gold using Heartfelt Creations Daisy Patch Dies (From Joan's) . I layered the flowers with tulle cut with the same dies to create the 3 flowers held together with gold brads. My card base is of Bazzill Textured Violet Cardstock is layered with Pattern Paper from Graphics 45  Once Upon a Springtime Pad (From Joan's )  that I stencilled with Blossoms and Ivy stencil  and a Thank You stencil using Distress Ink Peeled Paint.  This was the first time I used these stencils that I have had for a long time. I covered the pattern paper with the yellow tulle and then attached the three flowers.  I may have done the layout a bit differently if I had more time but I was working hurriedly to make the deadline.
