Chill Out with Blues and Greens
At Isabella's Sketchbook this week the challenge is "Chill Out" using blues and greens!! Chill out by doing whatever you want with an Isabella image using these colors. Nice cooling challenge for these hot days.
I love the soft papers in DCWV "Linen Closet" Matstack and chose 2 papers (one with glitter) to use with Isabella's image "Sweetheart Flowers". I colored the image with Copics and added some glitter to the centers of the flowers. I inked the edges of the image with gold marker as well as the patterned paper mat. I used the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge 64 shown on lower left. Assembled the card on a base card of white CS from my stash. Finished with a satin bow.
E00, Y02
Pilot Gold Marker
Sakura Glitter Pen Clear Star
Hope your are chilling out today if the weather is hot in your neck of the woods.

Last week, I went shopping at Isabella's Sketchbook and this little girl " Garden Gift" was one of my purchases. I could hardly wait to color her with Copics and decided to use her in a few challenges:
Isabella's Challenge: This week the challenge is to "Cut It Out". I cut out the image and attached with dimensionals.
Midnight Madness: Sketch Challenge #63
Shown below on right
Really Reasonable Ribbon: Use ribbon dress photos shown on their blog for an inspiration. Anything goes for this challenge but must use ribbon. I was inspired to use this lovely dress image and add a ribbon bow to the back of dress. Also used ribbon across the scallop edged mat. Hard to see -same color as mat. Decided to not add sentiment until I send card. Simple card but does have 6 layers.
Details:

Papers: DCWV Glitter Paper from Spring Showers Stack
GKD PL "Lemon Drop"

This is the second sketch that I have colored with copics....self-taught through reading and video watching and practice. The hardest part is to stay in the lines because ink flows so quickly. Need more practice to have lighter strokes. Glad that I have that colorless blender to push back the mistakes. Interesting how many Copics you can use in one image.

Isabella's Punch It Up Challenge
This week's Challenge at Isabella's is to use a punch, any punch with an Isabella image of course. As you may know I just love Isabella's digis and I love to enter her challenges and love to win her digis. This week I colored the Geraniums Image with pencils and OMS and used a sand color mat that I punched with scallops and lined edge with green ribbon and layered this on a pattern paper that I embossed and punched the edge with yet another punch. Wish I had not embossed the mat...did not add anything to the dotted paper. I assembled this on to base card of sand. Added some twine to the tag. Simple enough card...could have added more but sometimes less is better?
Other Challenge:
Frosted Designs: Use Border Punch
Stamp Something: Go digital.
Digi: Isabella's Sketchbook
Stamp: Hero Arts "Love" (on tag), GKD "Elegant Flowers" Sentiment
Ink: SU Garden green
Paper: The Paper Company Texture Solid Sand
K& Co. Pattern
Punches: Fiskars and MS
Cuttlebug: EF Swiss Dots
FYI:
SALE..SALE...SALE...ONE DAY ONLY!
Big sale at Isabella's Sketchbook this Wednesday, July 21 ... all digi stamps will be $2.00!
I have my order ready to go. ( Shhhh! Don't tell my DH!) Put it on your calendar!

I chose to use this image from Isabella's Sketchbook in a card for her Open Challenge this week. I used the sketch from Card Patterns as shown below and colored the image with pencils and OMS. Added the flower and brad to finish. Had meant to use another sentiment referring to flowers but stamped this one by accident. Oops!

Card Patterns: Sketch 175
Wild Orchid: Say it with flowers. First week for this challenge.
Papertake Weekly : Use a Garden Theme...my black eyed Susan are in bloom now...this could be a bouquet that I just picked.

More Apples for Red, White, and Blue Challenges
I seem to be in an "apple theme" mood. This is my second card to post today and I used apples again. Guess when you are inspired by the red, white and blue of the Fourth of July Holiday, you think of American apple pie thus the thought of apples.
I used a digital image from Isabella's Sketchbook and a sketch layout from Card Positioning Systems shown below. I also used a digital paper downloaded from Pixel Paint Papers for the background and paper piecing the napkin in the bowl. Used gingham ribbon and 2 buttons layered to finish.
Challenges:
Isabella's Challenge: Anything goes with an Isabella image
Simon Says Challenge: Use checks, plaid, gingham, etc. on your creation!
STV Inspiration Challenge: Do something a little patriotic.. use red white and blue or use any of the colors or anything that you see in the inspiration photo posted for the challenge.

Stamp Something: Draw inspiration from the colors of our flag.
Digital Tuesday: You can make anything as long as it is Red, White & Blue and use a digi somewhere on your creation.
Card Positioning Systems: Challenge Sketch 174

Just Us Girls Go Digital
Over twelve years ago, I first started making cards using only the computer and a couple of software programs-The Print Shop and Photoshop Elements.. Then I got into stamping and began to use more elements in my cards. Lately I have begun to use more digitals images and techniques so that I am now using the computer more in card making.
Pam at Just Us Girls challenged us to a digital challenge this week by using a digital image on your card or using digital paper for our card or do both. I used a digital image from Isabella's Sketchbook "Mary, Mary" that I colored using Photoshop Elements and added the sky background using PS. I also added a digital lace border (unknown source) and a digital sentiment from Ann Vento of Raindrop Echo Designs. I then printed the image and border and mounted on purple mat embossed with CB EF Swiss Dots. This was attached to a white base card. I added some glitter to the lace border, dress, bow, flowers, grass, and sentiment and added colored pearls to the lace. Not sure if you can see all the details in photo. Finished with a satin bow.
Don't forget to water your flowers.

At Isabella's Sketchbook this week is a challenge to "Honor our Mothers". This sewing basket image from Isabella's reminds me of my mother who is a wonderful seamstress ...she made all of my clothes and my sister's until we finished college as well as sewed for many others. Therefore I honor my Mother with this card.
Made this following a sketch from Papertake Weekly Challenge. Colored the image with pencils and OMS, markers, and Jelli-ink Glitter pen for the metallic look on some of the items in the basket. Added glaze to scissors. Made my measuring tape by scanning a tape and printing it. Have seen ribbon and dp with measuring tape but improvised this since I did not have on hand. Sentiment is computer generated to match color of tape. Used CB EF's to add texture to mats. Attached buttons to finish.
Image: Isabella's Sketchbook
-Sewing Basket
Paper from Stash
CB Embossing Folders
- Herringbone and Swiss Dots
Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers who stop by for a visit.

May Day Card
Isabella's Sketchbook has their first Design Team in place. For the first challenge they invited us to participate this week with a project using ANY Isabella image of our choice. To read more about the challenge and the New Team go here. I won 2 Isabella's images for last week's challenge and decided to use one of my wins this week-"I Love Tulips".
I used the sketch from Just Us Girls Challenge shown lower right so will be entering that challenge as well.
I am also entering in Giovana's Mother's Day challenge
I am also entering in Giovana's Mother's Day challenge
I colored the image with pencils and OMG and embossed the pitcher in the image with clear EP. Cut this with circle nesties and matted on pink vellum cut with scallop circle. Base Card is white CS layered with pink CS mat and another mat of DP called Lace...thinks it give a real lace look but is only paper. I embossed this "lace" mat with CB Victoria EF. Can you see that? It looks nice in RL. Added white satin ribbons layered with pink organdy stripe ribbons. Assembled card as shown and added pearls. Had made the photo and then I remembered the challenge sketch shows a sentiment....so I made a sentiment with the computer, added that, and made another picture. Not sure I liked better with or without the sentiment.Image: Isabella's Sketchbook Digital-"I Love Tulips"
Paper: Georgia-Pacific White,Sandylion Lace Paper, Solid Pink from Stash Ribbons, Pearls from Collection
I think this will make a lovely card for my Mother.
Thanks for looking.

Challenge for Isabella's Sketchbook
I was lucky enough to win a gift certificate at Isabella's Sketchbook in her first challenge! I had so much fun buying at her store and one of the images that I purchased is "Petunias" that I featured in a card for her 2nd challenge. Here are the requirements for that challenge: 1. Must use a digi stamp from Isabella's Sketchbook 2. Must be a floral/garden theme 3. There must be a round element somewhere on the card.
I colored the image using pencils and OMS .....not sure blue is a color of petunias but I like the color. Cut the image with circle nesties and matted on a blue scalloped circle. Stamped the sentiment off center on a circle and again matted with blue scallop circle. On the base card of blue I matted with white CS that I embossed with CB Swiss Dots EF and used a pod to color the raised dots blue. I double embossed the mat with another CB EF Leafy Branch using an additional paper shims to give this embossing a higher relief. Used a pod to color these raised areas in green. Double embossing is an interesting technique that I learned at the Stamp Pad, store in Zoar.
Stamp: Isabella's Sketchbook- "Petunias"
GKD Sentiment - "Tropical Flowers"
Ink: SU Garden Green and Ballet Blue
Cardstock: Stash
Will be sending this card to my Mother, who fell yesterday and broke her wrist---runs in the family???

Mary, Mary, how does your garden grow?
Second Post today and maybe one more to come.
I just love the digital images at Isabella's Sketchbook that I found through some of my blogger friends. Isabella's Sketchbook first sketch challenge is finally here and you can see it lower right or click on link.

For my card, I used the image, "Mary, Mary", that I purchased this week. I colored her with pencils and OMS. Used some new Koh-I-Noor pencils that I treated myself to for doing my wrist exercises. Still have to practice with these pencils to perfect the coloring. Used a new DCWV spring paper stack...another treat to myself this week. Used one of the prints as the base card and cut out some borders to make stripes to follow the sketch. Placed a ribbon on card. Added a circle...(flower punched from same papers)... on top of the ribbon and some bling on upper right corner. The image is really the star of this card.

Ready to get out in my garden like Mary, Mary.
