It's Harvest Time

Where did September go?  I've been looking for it but lost track of time and it's already the third of October!!! Speaking of October, this is a month for harvesting fall pumpkins so that is the theme of this card that I made for the challenge at The House That Stamps Built made with a Repeat Impressions Pumpkin stamp.  Using masking, I stamped 3 Pumpkins on white CS and colored with Copics but varied the coloring of each one.  Have you seen the wide variety of Pumpkins at the markets?  I still favor orange pumpkins but I love the white and multi colors ones. My card did not turn out as originally planned …..I kept changing the layout and papers.  For the final card, I fussy cut the upper edge of images and attached it to a mat of  Kaiser Craft Specialty Paper with Orange circles with a bit of shine on some of the circles(think it is called spot varnish.) Attached this to a white card base.

Bountiful Basket

Welcome!  Today I am playing with an old stamp by Rubber Stampede called Bountiful Basket dated 1995.  I think I must have got this stamp from a garage sale many years ago around 2009?  And I do not think that I have ever used it.  I stamped the basket with a light color ink Memento Toffee Crunch and colored with Copics.  This stamp has mostly flat surfaces not line stamping so it is a bit difficult to color.  I am sharing photos of both the wood block and the rubber stamp.  It is interesting how stamps have changed from being on wood blocks and now just clear stamps.  The old wood stamps are a piece of art in themselves and great items to collect if you have the room.  

Back to my card....stamped the image on white CS and colored with Copics and did some highlights with Pencils.  Used some metal brads on the basket for a bit of texture and dimension and to use some of my stash of embellishments.  Added a sentiment from Power Poppy (2014) with DOI Vintage Photo and distressed the edges of the panel with DOI Wild Honey and simply attached to a Gold Yellow card base.

Harvesting Wheat

Hello!  I have another entry for the Twofer Challenge #10 Harvest.
This is such a fun challenge that I had another idea for two cards using the same stamp.  The stamp that I used for both cards is from GKD Always Autumn set...the wheat image is one that I have never used.  For the first card, I stamped the image and sentiment (GKD Scripty Sentiments) with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white CS.  I framed the image with a die cut from Black CS.  Used scallop oval and oval dies. Kept this sympathy card clean and simple.

 For a Thanksgiving card, I stamped the wheat image 3 times with Memento Peanut Brittle ink on Ivory CS and a Power Poppy Sentiment with Brown ink.   I edged the panel with a Pilot Metallic Gold Marker and placed on a layer of patterned paper from a Paper House pad and then an Ivory card base

Harvest of Apples

Welcome!  This is a great time for Harvesting Apples....so many choices to choose.  As you see in my card above I have 3 bushels featuring 3 different types of Apples.  I was inspired by the Twofer Card Challenge #10 Harvest to create the cards above using Bushel of Apple stamp (Gina K Design) for a birthday card and another card for Thanksgiving.  I used Gina K Design stamps for the sentiments on the birthday design and  a Mark Finest Papers sentiment on the second.  I used Memento Black Ink for stamping and Copics for coloring.  I had thought I was finished with the harvest card on the right.....just had the apples and sentiment on the strip of dotted paper (shown below).  But when my DH saw it, he said it was not much of a harvest and should have some corn on the card.  So I went back to the drawing board( so to speak) and came up with digital image of corn that I printed in various sizes and colored with Copics to make it colorful Indian corn. Fussy cut and added it to the bushel of apples.

It's Fall Harvest Time

Hello!  Don't you love this time of year....the temperatures are dropping, the colors of fall are appearing, and the foods of harvest are abundant like the apples in my basket.  I created this card using  GKD stamps from Harvest Memories.  The basket was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa Ink on GKD ivory CS and colored with Copics R20,24,27,29,Y12,17,32, YG63, E21,25,27 and N 0.  I trimmed the image out with A Nesties Oval Die and distressed the edge lightly with Distress Ink Antique Linen. I punched the top corners with a Corner punch.  The card base and red layer are from Teresa Collins World Traveler Paper Pad.  I added some score-lines and red ribbon with fabric hearts to the red layer.  I thought the hearts were appropriate for my sweet harvest. I added glossy accents to the apples and a red bow to the basket.
