Harvesting Wheat

Hello!  I have another entry for the Twofer Challenge #10 Harvest.
This is such a fun challenge that I had another idea for two cards using the same stamp.  The stamp that I used for both cards is from GKD Always Autumn set...the wheat image is one that I have never used.  For the first card, I stamped the image and sentiment (GKD Scripty Sentiments) with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white CS.  I framed the image with a die cut from Black CS.  Used scallop oval and oval dies. Kept this sympathy card clean and simple.

For a Thanksgiving card, I stamped the wheat image 3 times with Memento Peanut Brittle ink on Ivory CS and a Power Poppy Sentiment with Brown ink.   I edged the panel with a Pilot Metallic Gold Marker and placed on a layer of patterned paper from a Paper House pad and then an Ivory card base

Get That Glow

Hello!  I made this card for the Get The GLOW challenge at Power Poppy.   I used stamps from Power Poppy Peony Muse set.   The flower, stem, and leaves were stamped with Memento London Fog ink and colored with Copics with some high lighting with pencils. I stamped the sentiment with 3 inks before I got the color that I wanted (SC Rose Regal, DOI Worn Lipstick, DOI Fossilized Amber. Luckily I did that in the Misti. Trimmed the image and layered with a distressed looking Patterned Paper from Blank Canvas and attached to a Yellow card base.  Kept it simple to let the glow shine.

CAS Prayers

Hello!   I am challenging myself to make cards using up some of the un-used items collecting on my worktable....for example items that I die cut, stamped, or colored and never made into a finished card, etc.  On this card, I used an image  that I stamped on Kraft CS with Versamark and embossed with gold EP and then colored with pencils.  I set it aside in my unfinished box to complete later.  That was several weeks, months ago.  The Chinese Lantern image was from Power Poppy Sunny Harvest set.
Today, I pulled out the forgotten panel and added an Sentiment from Power Poppy Peony Muse set....stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with Gold EP... to make a sympathy card.  I highlighted  the sentiment with a red pencil. I placed this on a Red CS mat and a Gold Metallic card base.  I thought it ended up as a elegant card and was perfect to let someone know that I cared.

Monochromatic Sympathy Card

Hello!  I have another quick card for today.  This is a Sympathy card that I made for the challenge at The House That Stamps Built DCC96. I am trying to complete all their challenges for the month of September.  I used a sketch from Sketch Saturday to design the card. I used Repeat Impressions Lily of the Valley stamp with Memento Bamboo Leaves ink on white CS and colored with markers.  I placed this on a mat of Graphic 45 Pattern Paper from Secret Garden Pad and used the green paper from the same pad to complete my card.  The sentiment was from GKD.  Used white gell pen on the flowers.

Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge

Good morning! Today we have another challenge from Speedy Fox and Friends and it is to create a Sympathy Card. I try to keep sympathy cards simple and elegant with the emphasis on the message that I write on the inside.  I find that flowers or nature images are the best themes for me. Cards without  bright colors and without a lot of embellishments seem most appropriate. My color on this card is almost too much but is more subtle in real life. I almost left the image uncolored but it seemed to need a bit of color. This stamp "Oopsy Daisy"  from MFP is so appropriate for use on sympathy cards.

Supplies:
Stamps: Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co. "Oopsy Daisy"
Ink: Memento Toffee Crunch , Distress Inks: Wild Honey, Tea Dye, Crushed Olive, and Brushed Corduroy
Papers: Unknown DP with Text from stash (Very appropriate wording ), Glossy Ivory CS, Ivory CS, Brown CS all from stash
Ribbon: Organdy from Dollar Tree
 Nesties Oval and Scalloped Die

You have until 3PM on Friday, September 7, 2012, to enter this challenge. If you use MFP a Heinrich Company stamps your name will be entered into the drawing twice.

Have a wonderful weekend.
I enjoy all your comments. Thank you. Theresa
