Countdown Challenges at Stamp TV

Welcome to my blog! I have been away from blogging over the Christmas Holiday but ready to resume some regular posting, at least posting when I can.  I hope that everyone had a lovely and safe holiday and that you were blessed with love and friendship. We had a wonderful holiday and enjoyed it tremendously.
Hope the snow did not disrupt too many of your plans.

I have been working on some projects for Stamp TV"s Year end Countdown challenges. Check it out here.  The is a seies of 10 challenge including techniques of Split Negative,  Faux Window, Distressed Newsprint, Adding a Button to a Bow, Shimmering Background Paper, Cracked Glass, Cuttlebugged Waxed Paper, and Rubberband Background and more to come.

Today I am showing my cards for the split negative:

I used Ranger Black EP and Copper Pearl EP on GKD Black CS and  Copper metallic CS. Card on left has DCWV Metallic CS and right one has base of GKD Pumpkin Spice CS. Used Spellbinders Labels 1 and Fancy Tags.

Stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and used Copics YR07,YR12, YG63,E25,R59,24,27,29,RV29. Used GKD Brown and Ivory CS and Basic Grey Jovial. Added glossy accents and ribbon.

Second Half of 2 for 1

When you do the Split Negative technique, you get 2 for 1 images for cards. This is the second card that I made for Linda's Blast from the Past challenge at Stamp TV.  This time I used her option  to do in just black and white.
I did this layout with a diagonal design using a black ribbon to creat a diagonal and then placed the cutout image at that angle. I like the way this popped out on the embossed background of a glossy CS.
Challenges:
KL Stampin and Scrappin: Use dry embossing

Stamp: GKD "A Year of Flowers" by Melanie
           and Sentiment "Inside and Out"
Ink: Versamark and Versafine Onyx Black
Papers: GKD PL Black and White
             White Glossy from stash
Ribbon: from Collection
Nesties Circle
Cuttlebug EF Swiss Dots

First Half of 2 for 1

Linda's challenge at Stamp TV is to try the Split Negative Technique. She added a "twist" to only use two colors along with either black or white or do them in just black and white. I did this one with red and white plus black.
For a video of this technique go to STV here.
Other challenge entered:
Crazy 4 Challenges: Use red, black and white.

Stamp: GKD "A Year of Flowers" by Melanie
and "Nana's Needleworks Sentiments" by Nina
Ink: Versamark and Versafine Onyx Black
Papers: GKD PL Black, White, and Rocket Red
Ribbon: Big Lots
Spellbinders Ribbon Tag
Nesties Circle
Cuttlebug EF Diamonds

Having some rain this morning....good for carding and gardens.

Split Negative Challenge at STV

Gina K challenged us to make a project using Split Negative. We can make a card, gift tag, or anything we want as long as it has some Split Negative going on! This was a really fun technique...simple and elegant.
Shown are the 2 cards that I made following the video and the inside that I printed on the puter.
Stamps: Gina K - Poinsettia from "A Year of  Flowers" by Melanie
Creative Clear Stamps Sentiment  "Holiday Greetings"
Ink: Versamark
CS: Gina K Good as Gold and Black Onyx
Background Paper: Basic Grey's  Figgy Pudding Edged and Sponged with Gold Ink
Gold and Black Embossing Powder
Ribbon: Gina K
Learn about this technique from the videos Gina K posted this week by going to

Have fun doing a split negative project!
