Over the Edge

Hello! I have been playing with the Creative Confetti Challenge Over the Edge...take your main image over the edge of your card.  I used Power Poppy stamps from Dahlia XL.  I stamped the Dahlia on White CS and cut the upper part of the image with an xacto knife since I did not have a die. I folded over the upper uncut edge and trimmed the card to measure 4.25" x 5.5".  I colored the image with Copics and added a sentiment stamped on vellum that I trimmed with a label die and added a bit of ribbon.  I decide to keep the design fairly simple.

Krafty Dahlia

Welcome to my studio!  I have been playing with Power Poppy stamps from the Dahlia set to create a card with Kraft Card Stock. I stamped the x-large Dahlia on Kraft and sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and heat embossed the image and sentiment with Clear EP.  I colored the image with Koh-I-Noor Pencils using a bit of OMS.  I trimmed the image and attached to a mat of Red CS and to a base of the Kraft CS.  Simply done but I think the result is Dramatic.

Variation of Highlight Technique

Hello!    It has been awhile since I entered a challenge at Power Poppy so I am taking time to create a card for the Creative Confetti challenge to Be Inspired by one of the cards posted on the recent sneak peeks of their new stamp release.   I was inspired by a card created by Broni Holcombe linked here and shownon the right.
For my card I used Power Poppy Dahlia XL set.  I stamped the oversized  flower with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white card stock several times using a mask and then colored only one of the flowers with Copics ( Broni water colored hers).   I trimmed the edges of the image and attached to a Green Card Base to which I  scored the edges.  Finished with a stamped sentiment from the same set and black ink.  I like the bold look with this variation of the highlight technique that Broni used.

Creative Confetti Challenge

Hello!  Playing today with a Creative Confetti challenge at Power Poppy.  The challenge called Half & Half is to split your card front into at least 2 colors.  I actually made this card with leftovers from the card shown below, which worked great for the challenge. (Posted here) I added the pieces stamped on gray and pink CS and attached to a Dark Gray card base. I stamped the sentiment with Memento Gray ink.  The image on pink was water colored with DOI Picked Raspberry. The image on the gray CS was stamped with Picked Raspberry and heat embossed with Clear EP.
Supplies used: Power Poppy Dahlia XL Stamps DOI Picked Raspberry, Memento Gray ink Clear EP, Moonlit Fog CS, Pink CS, Dark Gray CS,  Water brush.

Hello!  Playing with Pink and Gray combo on two cards shown above.  For the top card, I stamped the flower on both Pink and Gray CS with the DOI.  Heat embossed Clear EP on the gray portion.  The bottom card flower and sentiment was stamped with DOI and heat embossed with Clear EP. Then water colored the Dahlia with the DOI  and added some highlights with Pink Pencil.

Making a Flower

Hello!  It has been a while since I built a flower with one of Susan's Garden dies.  I was inspired by the Photo Challenge at Just Us Girls to create a flower using Yellow CS for the Petals of a Dahlia and Green Scraps for the Leaves.  I used DI Spiced Marmalade to ink the petals before assembling. For the background of my card, I stamped Gina K Petite Flourish stamp with DI Frayed Burlap on Ivory CS and inked the edges using the ink pad. Stamped the sentiment from Power Poppy with the same ink and die cut with a label die. Assembled the card on Ivory card base.
