Copper Leaves are Falling

Hello! Fall is in the air!  I love making cards for fall and I made this one for the fall theme challenge at Modsquad.   I pulled out a background paper  that I made with Distress Oxide Inks some time ago and had filed away.  (Not sure of which DOI that I used with watercolor paper) On the panel, I stamped a leaf several times from Gina K Designs Skeleton Leaves with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Copper EP. The sentiment is from an older GKD set A Year of Leaves.  Attached to a base of Copper Metallic Card Stock.

Double CAS

 Hello!  I was playing with a new stamp from Gina K's Skeleton Leaves and created a couple of Clean and Simple cards.  For the top one, I stamped the Leaf and Sentiment with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Copper EP.  I placed on a mat of Black CS and used a Card base of Copper Metallic CS.  Finished with some black sequins.

For the second card,  I stamped the leaf 3 times with Memento Tangelo ink inspired by the sketch at CASE this Sketch.  I stamped the same sentiment with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Copper EP. Simply attached to an Orange Card Base.

Chinese Lanterns Make a Sunny Day

Welcome! A third post for today.  As the month nears the end, I am trying to enter some challenges that end soon.  This card was made for the challenge at Power Poppy to use Kraft colored paper for a project.  I decide to use Power Poppy stamps from the Sunny Harvest set.  I tried several mediums on Kraft CS including Distress Oxide Inks and Markers without success and then used pencils to color the image after stamping with Memento Rich Cocoa ink on the Kraft.  This came out to my liking.  I added Glossy Accents to the red berries and used Sakura Clearstar Pen on the Lanterns.  I cut the image with a Spellbinders Die and attached it to a Layer of Metallic Copper CS and then to a layer of Rusty Orange CS and a card base of Green.
 The Power Poppy sentiment was stamped with Versamark and embossed with Copper Metallic EP.  The Copper CS and EP look really good in real life and add a lot to my card.  I wished that they showed better in the photo.

Hello! I have another post today...trying to catch up on some challenges after being sick with a cold for several days.   This one is a fall theme made with older Gina K stamps from A Year of Leaves and Signs of Autumn sets.  Using the sketch from Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #62,  I made the background with Memento Peanut Brittle ink on white CS and a Leaf Stem stamp. The focal image of the Maple Leaf was heat embossed with Copper EP and sponged and blended with Distress Inks Wild Honey, Tea Dye, and Fossilized Amber.  This was cut with a circle die and matted on a circle of Copper Metallic CS and attached to a layer of Honey Mustard CS that was heat embossed with Copper EP  using a GKD Thanks stamp.  This was edged with Copper Metallic CS before assembling all on a card base of Honey Mustard CS.

Anything Goes at Retro Rubber

Hello Everyone!  I am thrilled to  have won a guest designer spot at the Retro Rubber challenge blog. The challenge this week Anything Goes, shown in the graphic above, is always a favorite for everyone.  The fabulous ladies have asked me to join with them for this challenge using a stamp that is at least 1 year or old.   Since it will soon be fall (where did August go so quickly?) , I decided to create a fall theme card using one of my favorite Leaf stamps and a sentiment from a GKD set A Year of Leaves.  I know I have had this set since 2009 since I bought it right after it was released and I seem to resurrect it every fall when the leaves start to change colors and fall.

 

I stamped the Maple Leaf 5 times on Ivory CS with Versamark and heat embossed with Ranger Copper Embossing Pearl Powder.  I also stamped the sentiment in the same manner. I colored the leaves with Memento Markers Dandelion, Cantaloupe, Tangelo and Pear Tart, distressed the edges, and sponged the layer with Distressed Ink Antique Linen.  I stamped and colored another 2 leaves in the same way but fussy cut them to attach to the top with foam tape. My card base is GKD Tomato Soup CS layered with a mat of Metallic Copper CS from my stash.  The Copper CS and embossing really shows up with a lot of metallic shine in real life.  This is the first time that I have used Copper embossing powder with this set.

Falling Leaves

Hello!  I have been jumping between the different seasons in my card making but I love to make fall cards the most of all because of the beautiful colors of autumn.  I made the background with  color on color emboss resist technique that you can see on this Stamp TV video .   The Memento inks that I used were Dandelion, Tangelo, Pear Tart, Toffee Crunch and Rich Cocoa.  The leaf stamp that I heat embossed with versamark and clear EP and fussy cut was from GKD A Year of Leaves by Melanie.  The focus leaf  image was embossed with Copper EP on GKD Ivory CS and colored with the inks.  I used Copper Metallic CS for the mats and a Pumpkin Colored Card Base.  The sentiment from the same set was stamped in Rich Cocoa and a gold ribbon was layered beneath the verse. I love the richness of the copper embossing and the copper matting.
