Traveling by Train

Hello!  The latest challenge at The Library Challenge is The Girl on the Train.  I read this book sometime ago but I remember it had several surprises as Rachael searched for answers and discovered many things as she investigated (explored) the lives of people that she saw from the train. I thought the sentiment that I used on my card somewhat reflected the story of the book.  My steam engine train is not really the right kind of train from the book but it was the stamp that I have and I used the colors from the cover. Other supplies: Gina K. Designs stamps, Copics, Memento Black Ink, Red, Black and White Cardstocks, Darice Embossing Folder.

The Train's A Coming

Welcome!  It's almost December which means it's almost Christmas.  And I have a Christmas card inspired by the sketch below.  I used stamps from Hero Arts kit that I colored with Copics and fussy cut the train and tree that I added to white squares matted with Green CS. Stamped the Hero Arts sentiment with Memento ink. Finished with a Red card base.

Happy Father's Day

Hello! Today I have a CAS card for Father's Day made with GKD stamps from Life is Good and Gifts of the Sea sets.  I stamped the train and sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Ivory CS and colored with Copics.  I did a double line of scoring on each edge of the panel and then added to a card base of Chocolate Brown with some orange satin ribbon for interest.

Traveling by Train

Hello!  I made this card using some of my older masculine stamps with a bit of trash...metal trash that is,  to enter into some challenges with a sketch,  colors,  and use of metal request.  I pulled out a GKD stamp set Life is Good that I have had since 2010 and stamped the Train on White CS with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copics.  I added a sentiment from the same set.  I attached this to a Dark Gray card base and then added striped DCWV pattern paper with my embellishment made with Orange seam binding tape and metal tabs from soda cans.  I thought metal tabs went well with the metal feel of the locomotive.

Challenge:
Retro Rubber: Challenge 37 Feeling Sketchy. The copyright of this stamp is 2009 and I have had since at least 2010. See sketch below.
Stamp TV: Mix It Up Monday Challenge is Let's Get Trashy
Simon Monday Challenge: Show Us Your Metal
613 Avenue Create Challenge: Anything Goes with Optional Twist-Orange and Blue plus 2 Neutral Colors.  I have Orange and Blue with browns and grays.
Always Playing With Paper Challenge: #70 Masculine Photo Inspiration. I was inspired by the grays and the feel of metal and transportation in the photo.

Interesting Card

Hello! Glad that you dropped by.  Before I start raking leaves today, I thought I'd share a card which my DH calls "Interesting."  Well, it is a bit different.  I made this for the challenge at Poppy Sketch shown on the right and we are to use  a pop of Houndstooth pattern.  After finding this pattern paper in a Fancy Pants Trend Setter pad and the loopy trim in red in my stash, I designed my card around these 2 elements.  The card base is Ivory CS embossed at the top with Cuttlebug Pop Culture Border and stamped on the bottom with the Train  and Sentiment from GKD The Northwoods and Life is Good sets.  They were stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with Black and Red EP's.  Added the strip of Houndstooth paper and the ball fringe trim
 to finish my design.

I enjoy all your comments. Thank you. Theresa
