Jar of Lightning Bugs

Hello!  Playing with the Tic Tac Toe Challenge J1019 at The House That Stamps Built.  My card uses stamps all from Repeat Impressions that were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on a Diecut  Card with a fancy fold From Crafter's Companion (part of a prize).  I paper pieced the jar lid with Metallic Gold Paper and added some Dew Drops between the flying insects. I also covered the jar with Light Yellow Vellum.  I placed a strip of Striped Patterned Paper behind the fold. I actually used elements from the top row and also the diagonal row of the challenge.  Does that double my chances? Just kidding!  My photo did not capture very well that this was a step fold but hope you can visualize it.
Other Challenges:
Just Add Ink: 465 Just add The Season.  My card was inspired by this  challenge to make a Summer card.
Always Fun Challenges: Challenge 119 Paper Piecing. Jar is paper pieced with Metallic Gold paper and Yellow vellum.

Have a great day! I love reading your comments. Theresa

Stand Up Card

Hello!  I made this stand up card with one fold for Joan's Touch Challenge.  Her requirements this week are :
Cut one part of an image so it is standing above the card.
Use card stock for color.
Add a sentiment.
Use a product sold at Joan's Gardens.

Complete instructions and measurements are on Joan's post here.
I began with a yellow cardstock 7.5" X 4.25" that I purchased in a pack from Joan's Garden.  I used the Cameo to partially cut my image ...the easy way to cut ....and then stamped the Dahlias on the cutout using Stamp-a-majig to line up. I added some shading to the Flowers with Copic Markers. I used Flourishes Stamps and Memento  Espresso Truffle and Rich Cocoa inks. Memento inks are sold at Joan's Gardens.
The hardest part of this challenge was limiting my color to the card stock.  I hope I met the requirements. I will be doing another card for this challenge.

I enjoy all your comments. Thank you. Theresa

Star Card

I saw a lovely star card made by Stacy, a DT member on Sentimental Sundays and I had to make one for a Jewish holiday...this one is my first attempt and I will be refining it more.  On her blog, Stacey shared this link showing a video with the instructions.  Thanks to both of these ladies for sharing their cards and creativity with us. This is my attempt at a star card:

Card shown folded into a Star

Card Partly Opened with 2 points folded back.

My card was made with white and navy CS's. I used these stamps: Anita's "Jewish Star", PSX "Shalom", and Rubber Stampede "Happy Chanukah" (inside) which I stamp in versamark and embossed with Gold EP. These are some very old stamps.  I embossed the strips of navy for the folds with Cuttlebug EF Divine Swirls. I gold embossed the ones on the outside.  I cut a dove in white CS Cottage Cutz Dove die and placed it   on the center of the card.
Showing 3 photos to give you an idea of how it looks folded and opened.

This was a fun card to make but was a true challenge to complete.

Challenges to enter:
Card opened and laid flat.

Sentimental Sundays: Shaped Cards with a sentiment
Stamptacular Sunday: Fancy Folds is the challenge. 6 folds in my card.
Do You Stack Up Challenge: Emboss it! Used both dry and heat embossing.
Crafty Caz Weekly Challenge: Emboss it!
Alphabet Challenge: N is for Navy Blue  plus one other color. Hope that bit of green does not disqualify this card?

Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate all your comments.
