Beachy Birthday

Hello!  I have challenged myself to use up more of the leftovers on my desk - such as part of a panel that I stenciled with Spellbinders Impressabilities Sea Scape made for this card posted this week.   It is kind of like using dinner leftovers to create another dish. (Last night I made Chicken Potpies from leftover Roasted Chicken).   I simply stamped what was left of the panel with a vertical Birthday sentiment from Repeat Impressions with SU Creamy Caramel ink....just happened to have left a blank area large enough.  I then edged the panel with a Copics marker to match and layered this on a Blue mat also edged with ink and attached to a White card base.  I also embossed the blue layer with the same Impressabilities that I used for stenciling. I hope you can see that.  So with very little effort, I have a second card from leftovers.

Seashells

Hello! I have been playing with some beach themes and decided to do some stenciling with Spellbinders Impressabilities  Sea Scape which is good for embossing as well as stenciling.  I always forget to use them.  Since there are some stenciling challenges this week I pulled them out.  On a White CS I stenciled the sea shells using SU Creamy Caramel and Cameo Coral. I then cut this up into rectangles and used to make a card for the Sketch Challenge #166  at CAS Colours & Sketches.  Finished with a verse from GKD A Gift From The Sea set.

Gull Greetings

Hello!  I have been playing with the Photo Challenge from Just Us Girls and came up with a Seashell filled card with a Gull on the pier. I was inspired by the colors and shapes in the photo.   I used stamps from Gina K Design inked on Ivory CS and colored with Copics.  Added white accents with White Uni-ball pen. I stamped a couple of Starfish and fussy cut to pop up on the shells.   Added some "rope" to the pier posts.  Sponged water on edge with teal ink.  The card base is a Turquoise CS.  Other supplies used: Memento Rich Cocoa, Espresso Truffle Inks, SU Taken with Teal, Creamy Caramel, Cameo Coral. GKD Stamps from Gifts of the Sea,  Inspiration Mosaic, and Gull from Grab Bag.

Sassy Succulents

Hello! The other day I came across a challenge at Inspired by All The Little Things for the first time.  I was inspired by the beautiful colors  and the succulent plants in the photo.  I selected a never before used stamp from Power Poppy Sassy Succulents set which I inked with SU Sage Shadow ink and colored with various Green Copics.  I sponged the Ivory CS lightly with SU Cameo Coral ink and added the Power Poppy sentiment with the same ink.  Finished with some dry embossing for texture using a Cuttlebug EF border and attached to a card base of Coral CS. Hope you are inspired as well!

Roses with Touch of Gold Mother of Pearl

Hello!  This card was made using Faux Mother of Pearl ( inset in the rose petals)  for the CAS Challenge at Happy Little Stampers. To do this technique "simply scrunch up a piece of cling wrap, dip it into your pearl liquid (I used Gold Liquid Pearl), blot off excess, and then lightly pounce onto white card stock. Once dry, sponge over top with ink, and then wipe off with a paper towel to reveal the pearl resist underneath."  To do my Faux Mother of Pearl for the roses, I started with Gold Liquid Pearls on white CS and then inked with SU Petite Rose. I die cut this for the rose petals with Memory Box English Rose Stem die.  I die cut the complete rose with stem from DCWV Shimmer Gold CS. Also used this CS for the words cut with Cheery Lynn Dies. The die cuts were attached to a pink Card base edged with Pilot Gold Metallic marker.

Christmas Church

Front of Card Highlights the Church
Inside Card

Merry Monday Christmas Challenge Take Me to the Church is to make a Christmas Card with a church on it.  I have used an old PSX stamp Christmas Village for my design.  I stamped only a portion of the stamp on the inside of a White Card base to make the church the center of the design and colored the scene with markers, a white gel pen, and a Stardust pen.  On the front of the card I die cut a square window to expose only the church on the inside.  I framed that with a open square cut from Sage Green CS.  I stamped a Spellbinders Sentiment with SU Always Artichoke ink.  I also added a strip of the Green CS heat embossed with Silver EP with another Spellbinders Sentiment to finish the inside.  (Looks better IRL). The strip extends beneath the front of the card when closed.
I have made many cards with this PSX stamp and each one has been a different design.

Azaleas for Spring

Hello!  It has been awhile since I have entered a Power Poppy Challenge.  And Power Poppy has some of my favorite stamps, so why not make a card for their challenge which is just what I did.
Using a favorite spring theme set, Azalea, I made this card with GKD heavy weight CS ( Copics do not bleed thru this paper).  I stamped  2 images on the inside with Memento Espresso Truffle ink and 1 sentiment with Memento Rich Cocoa. These were lined up with round openings cut with circle dies on the front of the card.  After coloring with Copics , I added some accents with Glaze pens, did some sponging with Memento New Sprout ink, and added Glossy Accents to the vase.  Back to the front which was covered with a panel of a Peachy Colored CS, I stamped the small Azalea image with Versamark and heat embossed with clear EP.  Then I finished with some dots using Orange Glaze pen.

Challenges:

Power Poppy- Power & Spark Challenge: Peek -A-Boo-Sketch. Graphic on right.
Cupcake Inspiration: Challenge 352. Inspired by the colors.

Have A Mice Day!

Hello!  This card made my DH laugh so I guess he is having a Mice Day?   I made this for the Sketch Challenge #144 at From The Heart which has a Twist to Make a Masculine card.  You can use the sketch or the twist or use both.   I selected some patterns and colors which I think are masculine and with the sketch, I featured the digital stamps from Mouse Balloon set which was a freebie at From The Heart shop.  I printed the mouse on white CS and colored him (yes, he is a masculine mouse) with Copics and sponged with Memento Peanut Brittle ink.  I cut this with a Spellbinder circle die with the balloon extended.  I added some glossy accents to the balloon.  I assembled the card with a Rust CS Card Base, a layer of BasicGrey Pattern Paper chosen because of the mice in the pattern, the printed From the Heart Sentiment, and a strip of dry embossed Yellow Gold CS.  I finished with a cutout from the pattern paper showing the mice.

Going Gingham

Hello! Do you ever wonder how a card design evolves.  I began this card knowing that I wanted to use some type of gingham on the design.  I had a piece of black and white gingham satin ribbon on my work area so I thought I'd start with that.  I thought maybe red would be a good color to use but then I came across this GKD pattern paper form Berries and Vines and thought this contemporary design looked good with the gingham.  Then I found the leaf stamp from GKD A Year of Flower 2 that mimics the shape of the leaf in the paper. And that looks good with the Lily stamp from the same set.  I matched up the color of the pattern with Copics to color the leaves  and tried to stay in the same tones for the lily.  I then match the elements up using a sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches and came up with the finished design.
Other Supplies: DCWV Chartreuse CS, White and Black CS, Ribbon from stash, Spellbinders Oval  Scallop Oval, and Rectangle Dies, Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Orange Glaze Pen.

Spring Play

Hello!  I love using older products as much as new ones.  This card was made with stamps from Flourishes Kids Play set.  The challenge at House of Cards to use a Silhouette inspired me to pull it out.  I stamped the image with GKD Black Onyx ink and heat embossed with Clear EP.  The embossing gives the image a nice shine and makes it really pop on the White CS.  I cut the image with a Spellbinders Oval die and placed on a black die cut with Cheery Lynn Swedish Spring Oval Frame.  Finished with a strip of Black and White Gingham Satin Ribbon using a Card Base of Neenah White CS.

Challenges:
House of Cards: March Challenge : Silhouette

Delicate Dogwood

Hello!  I love Dogwood trees and enjoy their blossoms in spring.  I recently purchased this Impression Obsession and love the details of the stamped image. After stamping with Memento Espresso Truffle ink on White CS, I colored with Copics and was pleased with the delicate look of the colors. I added a sentiment from Penny Black's Friendship Flowers set using SU Always Artichoke ink. The pattern layer is from some old Graphics 45 and the Card base is Ivory CS. This design did not need any embellishments .....I like the clean and simple design which lets the Image shine.

Bunny and Blooms

Hello!   While searching through some old supply stash, I found this Rabbit in some precut dies from Diecuts With a View.  I added some doodling on his face and pink ink on his ears to give him some personality.  I cut some flowers with Memory Box Splendid Clarkia die and a label with a Spellbinders Die that I stamped with a Hero Arts Easter Greetings.  I assembled these elements with a Grass Green(GKD) card base and a layer of MME Striped paper.  I added some hands to the bunny so that he could "hold" the greeting.  The result was a cute Eater card.
