Flight of the Butterflies

Hello!  I am making an effort to use items in my studio that I have never used or seldom use.  I have several stamps from Stampin Up that I have not used.  They were part of a purchase that my DH bought years ago when a friend gave up stamping and sold him a lot of her supplies.  It was about the time that I seriously began stamping and it was a lot of fun to receive all those goodies.
I dug out this Butterfly (2000) stamp  and Happy Birthday (2001) stamp that I think looks great together on my layout.  They are stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics Y06,Y17 and N4.  I used Sakura Clear Star for glitter on the wings of the butterflies but alas, it hardly shows in the photo. I used Yellow Card Base and a layer of some old Stampin Up pattern paper.  I added a narrow satin bow tied with 3 knots (one for each butterfly)....first time I used knots this way..  My DH thinks this card has a lot of motion ...from the flight of the butterflies, the diagonal stripes, and the scrolly script.

Challenges:
Mod Squad Challenge:  Anything with Wings hosted by Janice
Butterfly Challenge: #39 Butterflies + K is for Knots
Addicted to Stamps: Challenge 164 is CAS

Dreamy Sunflower

Hello!  I recently received some new stamps that I won from Repeat Impressions and could not wait to use this Sunflower Stamp on a card.  I love all the great stamps from Repeat Impressions and enjoy all their challenges as well.  This is a personal endorsement, not a paid advertisement.
For my card, I stamped the Sunflower on Ivory CS with Memento Espresso Truffle ink and colored with Copics  pulling colors from the pattern paper that I used from Fancy Pants Happy Go Lucky pad.  I assembled my design following the What If? Wednesday Sketch Challenge #S2315 from The House That Stamps Built.  The Repeat Impressions sentiment was stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa ink.  I finished with some Dew Drops strategically  placed over the sunflowers on the corners of the pattern layer and a couple of punched out sunflowers on the corners of the image.

Shades of Green

Hello!  I started off to make a green card and that is what I got....all green. Not another color in sight!
I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday for my design since it had circles as also in the photo inspiration from Sparkle & Shine Challenge.  I was going to break up the color with a bit of white but I ended using 4 shades of Green Card Stock, Memento Bamboo Leaves and Pear Tart inks, and green sequins.  The Heart was cut from a Foil Shamrock Confetti and added in with the sequins.
Other Supplies: Power Poppy Sassy Succulents stamp set, Cuttlebug EF Tiny Bubbles, Nesties Circle Dies, Sukara Clear Star Pen, and foam dots.

Birthday Cupcake

Hello!  Today I have a tag for Challenge #30 at  Tag You're It!  We are to make a tag inspired by the one made by Nancy Penir shown on the right.  I decided to use the cupcake theme and used a 3D die cut Cupcake from Valentine Crafts found in my stash.   I sponged DI Spun Sugar on a precut tag, attached the die cut, added some  music notes and circle foil confetti, and Cheery Lynn die cut words of brown CS.  Tied on ribbons of Pink and Brown.  The confetti did not photograph very well....it is actually red, pink and gold foil.
I also decided to make a card using the same tag.   I embossed an Ivory Card with the Cuttlebug EF Happy Birthday and colored the raised area with the Spun Sugar and attached the tag.
Challenges:Crafty Ribbons Challenge: #126 Happy Birthday
Allsorts Challenge: Week 329 Sparkle.  There is sparkle in the rhinestone and glitter on the Cupcake.
Simon Wednesday Challenge: Simon says Die Crazy. Used dies for the words and cupcake is a 3D die cut.

Using Vellum

Hello!  When I saw the photo inspiration shown on right for the challenge at The House That Stamps Built, I immediately thought of using Vellum to replicate the look of the photo.  I was inspired by many of the photo elements including the colors, layout, tree and moth(butterfly). I liked the ombre look of the colors of the sky.  I began by sponging the back of a cream Vellum sheet with Distress inks Brushed Corduroy, Vintage Photo, Antique Linen and some Memento Rich Cocoa ink.  Using a circle die I made a round mask and added some DI Squeezed Lemonade also to the back.  Then I embossed the Vellum with Darice EF Leafy Tree and inked the raised area on the top side with Memento Tuxedo Black.  I love the glowing look of the scene.  I stamped Repeat Impressions Vertical Thanks with black ink and embossed with Clear EP.  The Small Butterfly from  Repeat Impressions was stamped on the Vellum and embossed with Zing Chestnut EP.  I also colored the back with Distress Inks and then fussy cut.   I attached the Vellum layer to a Ivory Card Base and then made a 1/4" Frame of the Ivory CS to go on top.  I did this to avoid using glue or tape on the visible area of the Vellum.

Fall at the Lake

Hello!  The last few days have felt like fall is here but today should be warming up again to summer temps.  My card today reminds me of trips to the nearby lakes when the trees are in their full fall foliage.  I have used a stamp from Repeat Impressions Rocky Shore Vista to bring that memory alive on a card.  I stamped both the image and sentiment with Memento Rich Cocoa ink on white CS and colored with Copics and Markers.  After layering on Green and Honey Mustard CS, I added a cutout embossed leaf leftover from another project.  The Honey Mustard layer was embossed with EF Forest Branches.

Smile for the Camera!

Hello!   My card today was created with some pattern paper, a die cut, silk flowers and a bit of ribbon. The  vintage camera theme and colors were inspired by the Photo shown at The Shabby Tea Room. See below.  I selected a pattern paper from MME Chalk Studio 2 pad as a starting point and added a Flourish cut with Cheery Lynn Die from Green CS and added some Silk Flowers with brads from my stash.  Layered this all on a Coral card base with a stripe ribbon( inspired by the photo).  I finished the inside with a Graphics Fairy digital image of a vintage camera and a computer printed sentiment that I printed on Photo Paper to keep with the camera theme.

Shiny Birthday

Hello!  I was playing with a never used Spellbinders Die from the Shapeabilities Pendant Lattice set.  I cut one of the die from DCWV Foil cardstock and placed on glossy white CS.  Added a couple of cut outs from another one that I cut in Green Foil.  I cut words using Cheery Lynn Dies and attached to the pendant.  Placed this to a Card Base of Green CS.  The hard part of this card was getting a decent photo with all the shine from the foil.  I was inspired by the sketch from below.

Colorful Zinnias

Welcome to the studio!  I know that you have  heard me say that Zinnias are one of my favorite flowers ....and I am using one of my favorite stamps on this card.  I knew when I saw the challenge from Just Add Ink I had to pull out this much used stamp from Flourishes Zinnias set.  I stamped the image with Memento Espresso Truffle ink on ivory CS and colored with Copics and added some Yellow glaze to the centers.   I stamped the sentiment with Memento Bamboo Leaves.
I used dies from Spellbinders Devine Eleoquence to create layers of the image with Pink CS on a Yellow card base. Love this die set.  Finished with a yellow satin bow.
