Faux Detail Letterpress

Welcome!  This card was inspired by a video by Jennifer McGuire showing how to do Faux Detail Letterpress technique.  I used a Cheery Lynn Die Kiwi Doily that I inked with Memento Rhubarb Stalk ink and then embossed on Kraft CS.  I cut out the center of the design with Lawn Fawn Stitched circle die and layered on a Red Scalloped Circle cut with Spellbinders Die.  I attached this to a Card base of the Kraft CS that I embossed with Cuttlebug EF Gingham and stamped with GKD sentiment from Nana's Needlework set with the red ink.   I hope you can see all the details on the center.

I made this with Cheery Lynn Swedish Spring Oval Frame die cut in Silver CS and attached to an embossed (Darice Snowflakes EF)  Gold Metallic CS.  I finished with words Merry Christmas cut in Gold Foil Paper with Cheery Lynn dies.  This was a quick and easy design but I think it is elegant.

Birds a Flutter

Hello! I hope everyone is having a safe Holiday Weekend.  May we all remember what this holiday is about  and remember all the people who died while serving our country and protecting our freedom.

My card today was inspired by the photo inspiration challenge at Addicted to Stamps shown on the right.

I started by embossing white cardstock with Cuttlebug EF Leafy Branch and colored the raised surfaces.  I added a bird cage cut on the Cameo with a Silhouette file from Gray CS and attached with a gray metal brad and glue.  I stamped and fussy cut Hummingbirds with Flourishes stamp and Memento Grape jelly ink. The sentiment from the same set Humming Along was inked in Memento Gray Flannel. Card base is GKD Morning Fog CS.

Geometric Design

 Second Post today:
Hello! Today I was just playing and decided to go out on a limb with this Runway Inspired Challenge and do something geometric which is very unusual for my style.  But I have always enjoyed working with geometric designs having spent a lot of time doodling with geometric shapes but do not use often in my card making.   I was challenged with the Runway photo on the right to use the colors Blue, Orange, and a nude shade.   I used a Winnie & Walter Geometric design that I downloaded from this post on their blog.  I colored the design using Photoshop and printed it as a background for my card.  I used stamps from Winnie & Walters The Big, the Bold and the Happy set and cutout the Hello using the Cameo and a file also from W&W. I added some shine with a Clear Star pen and Shimmer spritz  to capture the shimmer from the fashion garment but it does not show very well in the photo.
Used Memento Grape Jelly ink and Orange CS Card Base.

Challenges:
Runway Inspired Challenge: RIC#84 Custo Barcelona fashion shown in photo. Used colors and geometrics from photo.
Winnie & Walter Blog: Geometric Challenge -use geometric element in your design and use Winnie& Walter products. Check out their other great geometric designs.

Time for a Quick Card

Hello! I have not spent much time inside since I am working in the yard and gardens since the weather has been so nice.  I have found time to make cards that are quick clean and simple designs.  Today's card was made by printing this design on the Cameo with a Silhouette file which was a free design (available through Monday).  I colored the flower to fit the color challenge and stamped the vertical sentiment from Repeat Impressions with SU Elegant Eggplant ink.  Added a few sequins for sparkle and attached to a card base of Yellow (Curry) CS.

Challenges:
CAS Colours & Sketches: Use colors Curry, Eggplant and Green
Seize the Birthday: Anything Goes Birthday

Beautiful Day at Sunset

Hello!  This is a second card that I made for  WHAT IF? Wednesday M2015 challenge at The House That Stamps Built.. We are to create a project using the photo shown on the right.  I again was inspired to use one of my photographs of the sunset in Florida.   As I mentioned earlier,  I will probably do a series of cards for gift sets using the photos that we took last February.  I printed the photo of the sunset made at Ding Darling Wildlife Reserve on a watercolor paper and attached to a Card Base of Yellow CS and stamped the Repeat Impressions with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  Inspired by the challenge photo, I added a Wine Glass (Repeat Impressions Wine Time Series) stamped on Vellum with Versamark and embossed with Black EP.  The glass was fussy cut and glued to card.

Wine Down at Sunset

Hello!  This week, the WHAT IF? Wednesday M2015 challenge at The House That Stamps Built is a photo inspiration challenge. We are to create a project using the photo shown on the right.  I immediately thought to use some of my photographs of the sunset on Captiva Island.   I enjoy photography and often use photos that my DH or  I have shot on cards.  I will probably do a series of cards for gift sets using the photos that we took last February.
I cropped the sunset image and printed on a watercolor paper. I then edged it with Pilot Gold Metallic maker and  matted on Blue CS and attached to a Card Base of Yellow.  The wine glasses were stamped with Repeat Impressions stamps from the Wine Time Series on Vellum with Versamark and heat embossed with Black EP.  I fussy cut the glasses and added to the card.  The sentiment from the same series was heat embossed with Gold EP.
I also embossed the lower part of the card with Cuttlebug EF Border and applied some glitter with Clear Star Pen which you may not see that well but it looks good real life.

Hello! Today I have a fun card.....a bowl of carrots and tulips is what I have!  I  saw this Photo Inspiration challenge at The Shabby Tea Room called Fun Blooms and was reminded of a Stamp from Flourishes "Garden Fresh" and just had to create using the Carrots Stamp.
