Cheery Lynn Challenge

This week  the challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs is the theme of Thank You and to use at least one Cheery Lynn Designs Die.  On my card, I have used Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish Die, Butterfly and Angel Wings Small #2 dies, and some dies from Build a Flower #1 and #2.  I used the negative from a flourish die cut from White Cardstock that I layered over green cardstock which is the also the card base.  I cut the butterfly from yellow cardstock and used a coral cardstock for the angel wings. The flowers were made with 3 different dies and attached with foam dots to the stem. I used a yellow pattern paper from My Mind's Eye (hard to see)  for the flowers.  I cut the word Thanks with a Silhouette file using my new Cameo. The white  layer was embossed with Cuttlebug EF Polka Dots.

Winter Cardinal

Second Post today!  Hello!  I wanted to share this card that I made that was inspired by the beautiful Cardinals feeding at our feeders this winter.  I will add this to cards saved for next Christmas   I am using some new products.....the Pine Branch was cut with an Impression Obsession die that I received for Christmas from my friend, Rita.  I teamed it up with a new Darice embossing folder Pine branches to create the front of this card.  I inked the branches with Brilliance Platinum Planet ink and Memento Rich Cocoa ink.  I cut a window with Nesties Oval Die to frame the Cardinal image that I stamped with the  Rich Cocoa ink and colored with pencils.  I attached the image on a red cardstock layer and then to the inside.  The bird stamp is from Pixie Cottage and the maker of the sentiment stamped inside is unknown.
Challenges:
Craft Your Passion: Theme is Something New...used new die cut and embossing folder
Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge: Share any Christmas Card
Sweet Stampin' Challenge: Theme is "A little bird told me"
Charisma Cardz: Anything goes

Thanks to Rita for this beautiful die. I will be using it often. I enjoy all your comments. Thank you. Theresa

I Got A Cameo From Santa

Hello! Sorry I have not been posting much lately. I have been too busy creating to stop and post on my blog.  I guess I was a good girl this year because Santa brought me a Silhouette Cameo with a lot of extras this Christmas.   And what fun it is to play and learn with the Cameo....I had no idea how easy it is to use and all the many things that it can do.  I love that you can store files to use on the computer and not have to have storage area for them like Cricut cartridges.  I hope to show you some of my projects over the next few days.  Take a look at this:

I made this lace cube box with a tent top using one piece of cardstock and a Silhouette file and the Cameo.  I placed a battery tea light inside ...left top open so I can turn light on and then tie close with a ribbon.  I will be back again today with another post of some cards that I have made for challenges.

I hope everyone enjoyed Christmas with your family and friends. What new Crafting items did you receive? I enjoy all your comments. Thank you. Theresa

Another Winter Scene

Today I am sharing a Tri-shutter card that I have made for the monthly challenge at Craft A Scene. I am showing 3 views of the card...the card completely opened at the top, a view partly opened, and a view completely closed for placing in the envelope.  This was not a quick card and took a lot of time planning how to scale and size the digis that I used before printing them.  The digis that I used are from Digi Doodles that is no longer in business but I love the 2 snow scenes that I used. I used "Snow Scene" for the center of the card and for the two panels on each side I used parts that I cropped from "Winter Snow Bird".   I am showing the 2 digis below.  After printing the images, I colored with Copics and added white stickles for snow and crystal stickles for the water stream. I also used a Darice EF Clouds in the sky that I also sponged with Memento Summer Sky ink.   I was able to do the images on the first try (how lucky was that?) using Photoshop Elements for sizing the images to match the panels that I needed to create the Tri-Shutter card.  It took time to color and add the stickles but I was very pleased with the results. I used Bazzill blue cardstock for the card base. The sentiment is stamped with Memento Espresso Truffle and is from MFP's Greeting of the Season Stamp set.

In addition to the Craft A Scene's Winter theme challenge using a Tri- Shutter card, I am entering these challenges:
Oldie But a Goodie: Winter... the digis and stamp are over 6 months old.
Charisma Cardz Challenge: Anything Goes
Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra: Anything Goes for Christmas
Alphabet Challenge: W is for Whatever You Wish: My card includes a wish for "Peace On Earth"

Snowflakes are Falling

Second Post today! This card was inspired by a challenge to use Vellum and Snow.  It turned out to be a Clean and Simple card.  I began by cutting out some snowflakes in Blue Vellum with a Sizzix die and then embossed each snowflake.  I then scored some lines and embossed white cardstock with Snowflakes using a Darice EF  ....this became the card base.  I simply attached the snowflakes with glue dots and added a strip of Blue Cardstock that I stamped with a Flourishes Stamp "Let It Snow" with Versamark and heat embossed with White EP. All done!
Challenges:
Timeless Tuesday #251: Use Vellum

It's Been Snowing A Lot

Hello! I know I've been missing in action for a few days on my blog.  Today I decided I needed to take time and post a card for some challenges.  This card is a winter scene using the Winter Postcard stamp from Stampendous but I trimmed off the postcard part and just used the snowy scene.  I also added more trees to the left and right of the original scene and some deer grazing on the snow covered lawn using some small stamps from Mark's Finest Papers.  Also added a flock of birds in the sky with a black marker.  After stamping the scene on white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, I colored with pencils and then added white stickles to the snowy areas and a crystal stickles to the Holly leaves. Placed some red rhinestones on the leaves for sparkle. Also added more snow to the trees with a white glaze pen. I used a Red CS Mat cut with oval nesties to showcase the scene and added it to an embossed green Card Base ...I angled the oval a bit on the card just because I liked it that way.  The embossing on the card base was done with Darice Snowflake EF and  inked with Brilliance Moonlight White ink.  I think this card captures the snowy wintery weather that we have been experiencing in Ohio.
This card was mainly inspired by the challenge at Craft a Scene to make a card with a winter scene but I did not use the option of making a Tri-shutter card...may do one later.

Challenges:
Craft a Scene: Winter Scene
The Glory of Christmas: Theme is snow. I used the inside to add my Christmas greeting.
Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge: Whatever is urgent to make. I felt I needed to use this stamp for another card.
Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra: Anything goes for Christmas
Simon Says Wednesday: Bling it on! Sparkle in my stickles and rhinestones
Paper Pretties: Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

It's hard to believe Christmas is almost here! I enjoy all your comments. Thank you. Theresa

Winter is Here

Winter is definitely here!   I have been busy making calendars, creating a photo book of quilts made by my Mother, making cards, and decorating for Christmas.  I also spent some time spending a $100 GC that I won from Joan's Gardens...how fun was that!  I thought today would be a good day to post a snowy scene.  This is a card that I made with Heartfelt Creations Christmas Collections using one of the panels and adding an oval frame with nesties die, some embossing with CB Snowflakes EF, and some sparkle with Clearstar pen and Stickles.  I used a navy card base. Sentiment is from Annabelle Stamps.

Challenge:
The Glory of Christmas: Theme is Snow.

Hope you are staying warm! I enjoy all your comments. Thank you. Theresa
